We had heard they don't have fitting rooms, so we wore leggings and tank tops so we could try on over our clothes, which there are mirrors and racks around for you to do. It is a little tricky to know what something like a dress will look like with your clothes on under. The clothes are organized by style and color, and I will say the staff is on top of everything staying clean, it's not as chaotic as similar stores. Things are mostly under the wrong size, through. What turned me off the most wasn't the selection, but the fact that they are charging $30-$40 for items with giant holes or that are covered in stains. I would say 70%+ of the items were damaged, a lot of it irreparable. Even if a dress was originally $200 and you're selling it for $40, it's not a deal if the zipper is broken, there is ink splattered all over it, or there is a hole the size of my head in it. It was just a little disappointing to get excited about something and then find something was wrong with it with almost every item I selected.

However, if you treat it like a thrift store and really dive in, you can find some good deals. I really wish there was a dressing room to actually see how the clothes fit and look without layering it on top of your clothes (WEAR THIN CLOTHES LIKE A TANK TOP & SHORTS/LEGGINGS). Throughout the store there wasn't that many employees outside of the cashiers so there is not much to say about the service outside of check out which went smoothly.

Not all Goodwills are created equal. We moved from the area nearly two years ago and I truly miss…read morethis Goodwill!! I have been back to visit the area recently and had to visit one of my favorite thrifts. The two Goodwills in my current locale are complete dumps compared to this one, I don't know why they even bother. The reviewers stating the inventory here is lacking don't know how good they've got it! I envy this location and I'm sad I no longer can make a stop when the mood hits. Seriously this is one of the best organized Goodwills I have been in and the amount and quality of inventory is excellent in comparison of my current location. Really there is no comparison. Maybe the people in this area are just more generous in their donating which is a loss for me having moved from there. Sure the prices were sometimes high on certain things, but I have found that to be true of any thrift where they try to sell at eBay prices on select things. Just as with anywhere I shop if I don't like a price I just don't buy it, there are plenty of other bargains to be found. But I can say that I never wondered about a price here as all items are clearly marked. This is not so at my current locale where they have some crazy multicolored hang tag pricing system on clothing and cheap yard sale price stickers on household and non-clothing items. And if ever I needed or wanted something specific or random, 9 times out of 10 I was able to find it here. I have found some true deals here, and I'm not one of those people that buys stuff to resell, I actually only buy what I am personally going to use for myself, kids, or my home. Truly a gem as far as Goodwills go, too bad some just don't know what they've got til it's gone. Really bummed that I am now several hours drive from this Goodwill but when we are back in the area on those rare occasions I definitely plan a stop here.

On Monday, 15 December I visited the Goodwill store in Round Lake Beach, Illinois (Store #088)…read more My visit was pleasant and uneventful...until I went to pay for my items. Employee #180709 performed in what I can only describe as an appallingly rude, discourteous, and unprofessional manner. Employee #180709 did not greet me, did not respond to my greeting, did not speak to me; he simply stood there glaring at me and then handed me the receipt without a word. Employee #180709 presented an attitude of disgust and disdain for my custom, and behaved as though my presence there was offensive. I don't know what I did to warrant this behaviour; I stood in the line quietly, waiting for my turn (there was only one cashier available at 11am), and then greeting him in a friendly manner. Employee #180709 appeared to 'glare' at me as though my presence was an offence to him. Employee #180709 behaved in what I perceived as a bigoted, racially-biased manner, which made my visit there thoroughly unpleasant and made me feel unwelcome. I am very disappointed, disgusted, and displeased by the behaviour of Employee #180709 and do not recommend him or this store to anyone.

Initially, the price offered was very low, despite the business taking 50% of the sale. After some discussion, I agreed, trusting her because I was a frequent shopper at her shop. When signing, I asked if we should write down the details, but she said, "We talked about it, it's fine." We signed a 90-day contract--if it didn't sell, she'd contact me to decide next steps. After 90 days, I visited her shop. She seemed surprised and became aggravated when I started asking questions about the item because the things she was saying weren't adding up. I reminded her of the agreed terms, but she denied we had agreed. When she asked if I had proof, I realized I did not, which showed her true colors. She completely took advantage of me because she knew it was my first time reselling an item not knowing much about it. Seeing this, I chose to stop arguing. She had taken advantage of my trust. I decided to handle things properly and requested my payment. However, she kept delaying payment until I filed a complaint with the BBB and considered legal action. Only then did she finally pay. I do not recommend this business based on my experience. If I would've known it was going to be such a hassle because she was being difficult, I would've never even sold it at all. After all to me it wasn't even about the money it was more about the dissatisfaction and disappointment I had with her breaking the trust of a client who's gone for years. I can't imagine what else she's done to other clients of hers who have no idea of what's really going on...
