    Chocolate Cake and Brownie Milkshake
    Xochithl S.

Chocolate cafe was chocolatey! It's a little cafe that sells tons of chocolate if you are in the mood for a brownie milkshake or ice cream you must try theirs. I ordered a brownie with vanilla ice cream and it was sooo gooey, chocolatey and I could tell it was relatively homemade and not processed(hopefully). My only complaint was the chocolate cake because it was so rich and if you are looking for a darker chocolate cake this is the one for you but not me. The service was quick and baristas were super kind. If you're a bit interested just try this cafe it won't disappoint.

If you are a chocoholic like I am, this is the place to be! Joe K who shares my love of chocolate found this place on Yelp and was one of the main reasons we decided to visit the La Isla mall (where they are located) in the first place. When we first stepped through the doors, I couldn't help but want one of each item they had on the menu! But when reality finally set in, we narrowed our choices to hot mochas, chocolate fudge cakes, and just to cleanse the palate, we shared a slice of corn cake. We sat outside on the patio and savored every morsel of creamy, rich goodness. We were in no hurry to be somewhere because this was our vacation. After an hour or so of heavenly relaxation, we went back inside the shop to purchase candy bars in various flavors to go. It's not often that tourists like us would travel such a long distance to check out a chocolate shop, but that's what we did!

The best chocolate I have ever eaten or drank! My family and I had the best chocolate mousse we have ever had as well as some delicious helado. We had this place on our second day in Cancun and we insisted on going there everyday until we left to come home. Even if we were too full to eat anything there, we would get it to go. It reminds me of Starbucks on steroids and if they sold chocolate. Lol! We also purchased a few Mayan chocolate bars to go. Some of the reviews that I read before trying this place talked about how the chocolate wasn't sweet. Well, real cacao is not sweet. I like the chocolate flavor is rich and natural and not overly sweet. Personally, that's how I like my chocolate. They serve different desserts, coffee in different forms as well as cold and hot chocolates. This is a great spot for chocolate or coffee lovers and if you are looking for a delicious dessert option that's not too heavy. I wish there was an Ah Cacao! Close to me!

Iced Mocha with almond milk-- Yummy!

Very delicious coffee and chocolate. It took a while to find since we parked in the wrong lot, but lots of great scenery of the lagoon and man made canal. We both had an iced mocha and they were excellent. Perfect amount of sweetness. The coffee is medium roast so much more palatable than the famous $. We took a couple bags of coffee back to our condo and made our own coffees the rest of our trip. We didn't sample any food, but did get a bar of Mayan chocolate. So yummy!

Looked this coffee shop on yelp and if you want to get Chocolate wasted, this is the place to go. Had their chocolate Frappe with cinnamon and vanilla and OMG A LOT OF CHOCOLATE got a large but should have gotten a medium. Half way through the drink I had enough chocolate in my system. Didn't try their desserts since it was already late when we stopped for the Frappe. They have a variety of sweets you can purchase along with their tamales. I would go back to try their coffee since they let me know that all they had available at the moment where their chocolate drinks. One drink for two people is good. If you LOVE chocolate you won't go wrong with this coffee shop.

Wow, this coffee was great! I saw how they specialized in locally grown cocoa. I decided to try out their iced mocha, which is a drink that most places don't get right. Well, this place definitely makes their mocha drinks right! Being a saccrophobe, I asked them to not include sugar in my drink. They complied, and the drink still came out tasting great. They also sell merchandise that is chocolate based - shampoos, soaps, oils, and chocolate bars (of course). The only down side to this place is the processing time. They take quite a while to process the drinks. Once they take care of this, they'll be good.

600th REVIEW!! Which is nearly as exciting as a visit to Ah Cacao! This place is a must visit if you're in Cancun AND enjoy chocolate, chocolate drinks or coffee/espresso! We discovered this location at La Isla Mall because our hotel was right across the street. We ended up making a 2nd visit on our last evening in Cancun because this place was so good! Ah Cacao is kind of like a Starbucks, but instead of Frappuccinos they sell a small variety of chocolate based drinks, espresso, and chocolate/cacao bars/snacks. I highly recommend the sipping chocolate, especially because it's super cheap at 29 pesos which is less than $2 USD! It's basically a melted chocolate bar in a small espresso cup. They also have tasty lattes with spot on latte art! Be sure to also try their 72% cacao and Mayan chocolate bars, they're to die for! We had a small one and it was so good, I bought a few of their larger bars to take home with me! They also have milk chocolate bars if dark chocolate isn't your thing. While seating here is sparse and limited to the counter by the front door and a couple of tables outside, they do have free Wi-Fi which is super convenient if you're a foreign tourist with no international phone service like us. Just enter the unique Wi-Fi code on your receipt to access their network. Each transaction will yield a new Wi-Fi code

    Mocha. Delicious. Beautiful outdoor dining.

Delicious sweet coffee that was bordering a cocoa. Thank you! Next time I'll try the sipping chocolate!

Unfortunately every food place in the La Isla mall is an American chain restaurant - except Ah Cacao. Skip Haagan Daas, Starbucks and McDonald's and come to Ah Cacao for your coffee & chocolate fix. The shop is clean and modern, the service friendly and the prices reasonable - especially in a tourist area. You must try the sipping chocolate. At $29 pesos or $1.61 US, you get an espresso sized cup of delicious chcolate. Less sweet than hot coco and chocolate milk, this stuff is grown up and delicious! Starbucks in California tested sipping chocolate about 10 years ago and it didn't stay on their menu long. If Starbucks' sipping chocolate tasted like Ah Cacao, you'd never order another frappaccino again (in general, don't order frallaccinos anyway.) In total, we spent about $740 pesos on various edibles and other chocolate souvenirs to take home. We received a reusable tote to carry everything, which is nice. If you're in Cancun and you want something unique and not American, come to Ah Cacao, you won't be disappointed!

If you go to Starbucks over this place, you are a sheep, and what's wrong with society today.

If you go to Starbucks over this place, you are a sheep, and what's wrong with society today. Chocolate is amazing, vanilla ice cream of all things is packed with flavor, and the Chocolate Maya Latte was flavored with lots of spice but not spicy.

Yummy latte and the best carrot cake!
    Christina D.

The latte was delicious. The carrot cake was the best that I had. It was moist, buttery and rich yet not too sweet. This is how a carrot cake should be The chocolate fria was super yummy per my kids.

Their mocha frappe is delicious. Wish the cafe had more of a cafe setting. Their chocolates were decent. 2015

The shop is located in a neighborhood and not a tourist area in a small storefront. Nancy led our experience and gave us an interesting talk on chocolate and its history. It was really interesting. We then actually ground some "nibs" and made our own chocolate for hot chocolate. It was a lit of fun and we ended up taking our little medallion of chocolate home with us to try on some winter evening. Nancy also gave us samples of different types of flavored chocolate. They were just small pieces but by the time we were finished I think we had about 20 different chocolates. The tour is inexpensive and a lot of fun. As an added comment, we were on a cruise and the cab fare was about the same as a ride into the tourist area. This is not in a tourist area so you'll see where people actually live. Nancy will call a cab for you for the trip back to the ship or to the tourist area. Again, this was a lot of fun.

We asked our driver to take us to best chocolate shop in town and he took us to Kaokao. We were really please. We were greeted by the nicest ladies who walked us inside the shop. They also gave tours here but we were there strictly just to purchase. The lady behind the counter did offer us some samples. I had a lot of questions and the nice staff was able to answer all of them. She also knew all the ingredients in them and helped me choose what was best for me. I ended up getting some dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee espresso beans, and some other goodies. The shop was really cute and they had all things chocolate and more. They even had toys and souvenirs. But their star are their chocolates which are high-quality and made from the finest ingredients. They even had interesting chocolate flavor combinations. The shop should also be clean, well-maintained, and air conditioned. Pricing was also reasonable. I highly recommend if you are in Cozumel and want to stop in a good chocolate shop.
