This is the cutest little place! It's a bit off the main downtown area, but worth the walk. The owner let's you sample items before you decide what to get! They are all made in house and simply amazing. I highly recommend everyone who has a little chocolate craving while staying in Cozumel. I can't wait to go back for my favorite chocolate caramel!

Yelp doesn't have as many recent reviews for this place so I'm posting here instead of trip advisor for others that may check here instead. This place makes the most amazing chocolates I have tasted. The fact that these chocolates are also hand made shows the dedication to the craft being exemplified. I was given several samples of different fillings (at least 8) to help with my selection which I appreciated so much. Pricing when I came here is either 640 pesos for a box of 16 or $35 USD. I was a little bothered by the pricing until I actually ate one. After eating a few( I couldn't stop at one) it's definitely worth the price tag not to mention that these are handcrafted. I purchased two boxes as gifts and a third which I ate. I specifically made this trip to Cozumel solely for this one store because I could not find any good chocolate places in Playa del Carmen. Ah Ca Cao has chocolate but nothing like what I would consider as a gift and for that matter nothing as crafted and beautiful. It wasn't really a gamble considering tripadvisor has 500+ reviews of 5 stars for this place. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g150809-d2536275-Reviews-Chocolateria_Isla_Bella-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html Some of my favorites for anyone going is café latte, the nutty, tiramisu, oxxaca, mexican, and mescal. There really wasn't anything I didn't like. Just check the pictures to see the details of these chocolates. This review is made for my trip on Nov 20, 2017. Oh..one more thing....their hours are only 1-7 pm everyday except Sunday so it is a smaller window of opportunity but if you get a chance to come I would recommend it!

Super cool little hole in the wall chocolate shop. Let's you sample a lot of different things before you decide which one you want. All homemade. Amazing taste and great prices. Highly recommend

This is a little bit of a walk from the Cruise ports, but trust me. It's worth it!!! The chocolates were soooo good! We bought a box of 16 and it really wasn't enough!! Now that I'm back in the states, I really regret not having bought more. When I brought it back to the ship, my niece loved them so much she ate 4 by herself. (I gave her ONE and then the little rascal hunted around my room for the box and ate more TIL I caught her!) The truffles are imprinted with a beautiful flower on top of the harder chocolate shell. We got (and loved) Creme brûlée, tiramisu, cacao nibs, coffee, double chocolate and the chai is to DIE for! If you guys ever start shipping to the US, I need to be the first to know !!!

I accidentely found KaoKao on a web site and it looked interesting, after all, it is chocolate. I…read moresigned us up for the two hour "tour" and Chocolate making. The shop is located in a neighborhood and not a tourist area in a small storefront. Nancy led our experience and gave us an interesting talk on chocolate and its history. It was really interesting. We then actually ground some "nibs" and made our own chocolate for hot chocolate. It was a lit of fun and we ended up taking our little medallion of chocolate home with us to try on some winter evening. Nancy also gave us samples of different types of flavored chocolate. They were just small pieces but by the time we were finished I think we had about 20 different chocolates. The tour is inexpensive and a lot of fun. As an added comment, we were on a cruise and the cab fare was about the same as a ride into the tourist area. This is not in a tourist area so you'll see where people actually live. Nancy will call a cab for you for the trip back to the ship or to the tourist area. Again, this was a lot of fun.

Every time I go to Cozumel I like to buy their chocolates. I did not do any research prior and…read moredidn't know where to go. We asked our driver to take us to best chocolate shop in town and he took us to Kaokao. We were really please. We were greeted by the nicest ladies who walked us inside the shop. They also gave tours here but we were there strictly just to purchase. The lady behind the counter did offer us some samples. I had a lot of questions and the nice staff was able to answer all of them. She also knew all the ingredients in them and helped me choose what was best for me. I ended up getting some dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee espresso beans, and some other goodies. The shop was really cute and they had all things chocolate and more. They even had toys and souvenirs. But their star are their chocolates which are high-quality and made from the finest ingredients. They even had interesting chocolate flavor combinations. The shop should also be clean, well-maintained, and air conditioned. Pricing was also reasonable. I highly recommend if you are in Cozumel and want to stop in a good chocolate shop.
