This is *the* go-to auto service in Las Cruces. We had a 2014 Subaru Outback with some rough steering linkage issues. Aguirre Auto found the problem and had it resolved in a day. What was amazing is the depth of knowledge of your front office person (I missed her name). She is a gold mine! And her baby son is cool, too. Made me laugh. First of all, let me state what I feel about Aguirre's auto. I feel that the business is a ripoff and I know for a fact, they don't honor their warranty. Aguirre's auto did exactly that to me. I took my vehicle to Aguirre's to find a short in the engine that was draining the battery at least every other day. I had to boost the battery every other day. When I talk to the owner I told him what the issue was on the vehicle. He said, "no problem, we'll find the short". After the completion of the diagnostic I picked up a copy of the diagnostic. The short, they diagnosed was that the alternator was going bad and the hot wire to the battery was causing the drainage of the battery. Aguirre's auto replaced the alternator with a remanufactured alternator, a new power box and a new battery and paid Aguirre $1845.00 for the repair. He gave me a warranty that stated, "Aguirre auto service parts and labor warranty for 24 months or 24,000 miles from the original purchase date and mileage". I picked up my vehicle from the shop and three weeks later the battery was being drained again. Apparently Aguirre's auto didn't complete the repairs or they didn't do a through job. I immediately called Aguirre's and told them the vehicle was having the SAME ISSUES. Something kept draining the battery. I took it in on a Monday and stayed in the shop for two weeks with no phone calls from them and no communication from them until two weeks later, I decided to call for the status of the problem. I didn't call sooner because when I took it in, the owner seemed agitated because the promblem still existed. So I gave them ample time to get back to me, but never did. While I was talking to the customer rep, I sensed that they became nervous. They proceeded to tell me that the problem was a part called the comfort control module. They continued to tell me that they were having a problem getting the part. They told me that the part was dicontinued. I told them that I would call around myself to try and locate this part. After we got off the phone with each other, they called me back 15 minutes later and apologized because they got mixed up with another vehicle. They said that the part I needed was available They went on to say "that if I wanted the vehicle repaired, it was going to cost me $1600.00 plus tax. I immediately told them about my warranty. They told me that the warranty was invalid in this case because it was a seperate issue. I told them that it was a different part, but the issue was the same. The battery on the vehicle was draining and that was the original issue when I took the vehicle in. They kept insisting that it was another issue, and it was plain as day that they were wrong. They said I could talk to the owner, but the couple of times I interacted with him, my gut feeling was that he was a real asshole. I felt I didn't have to argue with crooks to prove my point. Now, I know that the warranty wouldn't promise me the part it needed. I know that I would have to pay for the part. I also know that nothings for free, but another $1600.00 plus the other $1845.00 I had already paid to repair the battery drainage issue that Aguirre never solved. I know for a fact that the part didn't come close to $1600.00, because when I left Aguirre's, another mechanic was waiting for me to get the part. I paid $800.00 for the comfort control module. Another problem I noticed about Mark Aguirre is that he does not stand for the customer, he stands for the mighty dollar. I consider him a crook who does not honor his warranty. If you want dishonest mechanics, this is your place! I purchased a car which they replaced the clutch on within the last 300 miles(with receipts), the clutch failed, they looked at it and told me "the clutch fork fell off" which was a bold faced lie. Upon inspection the fork broke, they didn't want to deal with it, welded it back together (to save the labor of pulling the trans) and told me it was "fixed". I had to pay $800 to get the car shipped home, only to find they slapped it back together without any care for why it failed. They also LIED about what happened to get rid of me, then avoided my calls. Dishonest, crappy shop. If you want quality work, look elsewhere. read more

Professional, friendly fair and thorough service!!! We broke down on our way through Las Cruces from San Antonio, TX to Casa Grande, AZ during the Holidays. Aguirre's came recommended from local friends and even the tow truck driver. So glad we found them. Mark and Antonio were great in listening to me about the issue, what trouble shooting I had done, confirmed the issue and the truck was fixed in a day (A/C compressor seized and caused no start condition). It took three weeks to get an appointment and on the day I arrived I was informed they had no record of my appointment. It turns out they use several different booking applications as well as the telephone for their appointments of which none are synced together. They did not get it done as fast as I would have hoped but they did drop me off after I gave them my car. I'm not sure how cheap they are, but they have a AAA discount. My car developed a big leak in its cooling system and had to be towed to Las Cruces. I talked to the local Pep Boys about repairs and they were very discouraging. Pep Boys told me that the defective part was no longer made. Not true. Aguirre located a brand-new OEM replacement part in Colorado and had it shipped in super fast. They were done the day after. Very good communication about what needed to be done, time frame and cost. Plus, they have TOM--the coolest shop dog in the known universe. Get your car expertly fixed for a reasonable price. They're friendly and can't seem to say "no" to a job. They diagnosed issues with my car and took good care but I ended up leaving my car for a week. I didn't have a mechanic yet in town so I brought it in for a simple oil change. Left it for three days and it still didn't get done by the final day. After then, I stopped going. Idiot light was on, so I asked my wife to drop off the car at Aguirre. She mention the front desk guy was rude (Keith?) they diagnosed the problem purchased a replacement part then later on found out the part wasn't needed only the wire needed repaired. They did a lot of extra work just to get to this part though something tells me they probably could of figured the wire issue out if they just spent more time looking at the issue instead of going by the book (repair manual) all is well need some time to settle on whether I'm going back to this shop. read more

They failed to apply our AAA discount to final bill (the only reason we took it there was because AAA recommended and we were suppose to get a discount). When we told them the discount was never allied the liner said our wad our responsibility to tell them at check out. Even though we had already had the vehicle serviced there just days before and had to take it back because they failed to fix whatever wad wrong with it in the first place. That first we used our AAA membership so they knew we were members. I paid over $2000 and they had the vehicle for over 2 months collectively. At the end of it the A/C still didn't work. The owner was very rude and said "if you have a problem your can take your car back." So I did, I'll gladly pay a more competent mechanic who will actually fix my car the first time as this is the 3rd time I've had to take the car back to Aguirre Auto and it's still having problems. read more

These guys have been doing the repairs on both my car and my husband's SUV for years. I have absolutely no complaints and one example to share. My husband had the clutch replaced in his old truck and about two weeks after he got it back, we recieved a ckeck in the mail for twelve dollars and change from Aguirre with a letter stating that they had accidentally overcharged him that amount for the clutch replacement. I have never heard of a mechanic giving money before. Have you? They do great work and they are HONEST. read more

got both of our cars (ford and bmw) serviced their for many years. they work on cars from volkswagen to bentley and actually guarantee their work for one year. friendly courteous service and it's fairly quick (unless hard to get parts are required which takes longer). would recommend them to all auto owners. read more
