It has all the typical "festival food" trucks- affordable burgers and dogs, cotton candy, BBQ (not running that night), pizza truck, fresh mini donut, etc. The bathrooms and port o pots were clean, up until the time we left, anyway. The corn maze was nice because you weren't suffocating via corn stalks or feeling overwhelmed. They have a game thru the maze. It's simple but makes it a little better to experience. They've evolved a lot of the years from a honor type system with smaller offerings, to a staffed and larger selection of goods. They are consistently open, which is great because a lot of the store in Agritopia are hit or miss, and the Farm Store never lets me down! Their prices do to be expected for such a curated store, but not much more than what equivalent items would be priced. The market feature a few various produce stands, bread and lots of food or self care options. I prefer the more artsy stands myself, but still like checking it out every few weeks. As a foodie one of the ongoing frustrations is the movement toward shelf life, uniformity and quantity produce over quality and locality. Picking when unripe, gassing, waxing, and transporting around the world is clearly not good for food quality, you or the environment. Hell when was the last time you bought a good tomato at the store? While I'm certainly not a tree huggin hippy I do appreciate ripe picked quality ingredients not laced in tons of chemicals and Glyphosate. This is where Greenhouse Gardens Market table comes in. Take a short drive or a bike ride over to a newly refurbished farm where the owners take pride in everything they do. We went last Sat and picked up some Swiss Chard and carrots that pulled back 3 decade old memories as how good they can be. Depending on growing season they have a variety of cool and interesting items to choose from so it is good to get on their mailing list to see what's available. They are still building and ramping up so there is still plenty to do at the farm but they have made amazing progress and I can't wait to see how it progresses and develops over time. On my most recent visit, Michael Ray provided outstanding customer service. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the produce department, including delivery schedules for seasonal items, and was familiar with products throughout the store. When I asked for help picking out a watermelon for a party, he didn't just point me in the right direction--he took the time to dig through the display to find the biggest and best one. It was a huge hit with everyone, and I truly appreciated the extra effort he put into making sure I left with exactly what I needed. Michael Ray has been a wonderful addition to an already outstanding staff. Employees like him are the reason customers continue to come back year after year.
