I got the nerve up to call and even from the first phone call, the receptionist was so kind and understanding of my fear and assured me that the hygienist and the dentist that would be working with me were super gentle. I arrived and was treated so well. Everyone that works there is absolutely amazing. The receptionist greeted me with a very warm welcome and assured Me once again. She was right . Everyone that worked with me was amazing. Dr. Harrison assured me that everything would be fine and had a very light touch. Lake Success Dental Care Edith…read more Five stars and a dentist's office sounds like an oxymoron, a contradiction, a paradox. It's like jumbo shrimp or a garbage dump that smells sweet. These things just don't make sense or don't happen...and yet, there's an exception to every rule. In this case, Lake Success Dental Care in New Hyde Park 100% fits that idea. Okay, maybe I just have a very melodramatic history with dentists. I didn't go to one for a length of time I'd rather not discuss just due to never having a legitimate dentist I trusted or felt wouldn't yell at me for lack of brushing/flossing/etc. Then my sis/mother told me about Lake Success Dental Care and I finally decided I needed to bite the bullet (preferably not before a dentist trip, tooth joke) and make an appointment (plus they accepted my insurance, so that worked). Upon entering the office building where the practice is located, I was a ball of nerves, but the nicely-decorated waiting area almost didn't feel like I was about to have people stick their hands in my mouth. Things were comfortable and welcoming, with a phone charging station available if needed. Good start. Once my name was called, the nerves rose a little more, but each employee I met was very kind and I have to say, no one even came close to wagging a finger in my direction due to dental hygiene (even if they probably should have). The dentist I saw that day, Dr. Dai, didn't emanate a great initial friendliness, but he still kept things calm in his process. From that first trip back in November to now, I've visited Lake Success Dental Care four times (one more before a break!) and they've done some great work in getting my mouth all caught up on cleanings and fillings. Each trip was more of the same: calm, welcoming, timely, and never reprimanding (a big win in my book). I also met Edith, who will process your payments before you depart. She's a big reason why I almost (dare I say) enjoy coming to the dentist. Her and the whole friendly staff has made a lasting impression on me (even Dr. Dai opened up this last time around). Two other favorable factors worth mentioning are their hours and notifications. They run crazy times for a dentist's office with nights going until 9 as well as weekend hours available both Saturday and Sunday. They honestly make it hard for you to not find a time that works (even if you try...which I might have done when making that first phone call, heh heh). Once you've got your appointment, they'll call, email, and even text to make sure don't forget when to come in. Even though I'm usually good with dates, it's still great to know when I'm approaching that dental visit (you can't escape it!) Overall, Lake Success Dental Care has turned my world around in how I perceive dentists. I'm sure there are plenty of practices that are actually formidable for those without a childhood phobia of dentistry, but if you're reading this review and fear for your next dental visit, fear no more! Lake Success Dental Care is here for comfort, friendliness, proficiency, and an all-around positive experience. So maybe five stars isn't so far fetched for a dentist. After using one dentist for over 20 years (that I was real happy with), I was forced to make a…read morechange. (Due to COVID, I did not want to take mass transportation into Manhattan from Queens)! This came at a time where I needed major dental work as I was losing my four front teeth. My dentist recommended Dr Scott Danoff who went to same top dental school. Needless to say, I was extremely hesitant and extremely unhappy about changing dentists. My first visit went well. The office was new, modern, clean; the front office personnel very pleasant. Dr Danoff took his time in hearing my history and proceeded to examine me. He discussed in detail, the options I had in a warm and professional manner and informed me what the procedures would cost. He sent me home to think things over and was responsive to my calling with questions. Once a decision was made as to how I choose to proceed, we made another appointment to start taking action. Again, most happy with his chair-side manner. I also spent some time with his financial person who gave me all the time I needed to clarify costs. The big day was just this past Thursday. I don't think a more sad and nervous patient ever walked into his office. His dental assistant was lovely and tried to reassure me that everything would be okay, but it was really falling on deaf ears. Dr. Danoff explained what I was going to feel and hear in preparation for the removal of my four front teeth. He gave me a few shots (done really well) and I requested some "gas". I put some Guns and Roses on my headphones and before I knew it he told me my teeth were "out". I laughed, not believing him. "No way ", I said. He insisted so I believed him. He stitched me up (still not feeling a thing) and worked with me and my bridge until I was comfortable and he was happy with the bite. Within an hour I was home and by evening time was feeling pretty darn good considering I had four teeth pulled that day. I spoke with Dr Danoff that evening, followed his post procedure instructions and here I am less than 48 hours later, doing really great! I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Scott Danoff. I trusted him with my four front teeth and he did not disappoint in any way. After 20 years I have a dentist nearby and I could not have been referred to a better one! 5 stars.

I swear that receptionist at Kent's office was a pure nightmare and I'm glad I never have to deal with her ever again! I am so happy to have entrusted my dental care with doctor Rafailov now. I had three different procedures done on my teeth at his office: 1) cleaning 2) filling 3) wisdom teeth extraction. The cleaning and extraction were done by doctor Rafailov but the filling was done by another dentist that they had just hired name Rachel (I think, I might have forgotten her name). After my filling appointment with her, I literally couldn't chew on my left side where I had the filling because it would hurt like hell. I thought it was just some residual pain but weeks went by and I could still not chew! So during my next appointment, doctor Rafailov took a look and said that it was "not even" and that one side was higher than the other and that was causing me the pain. The important thing is that he fixed it right away and after that I did not have any pain chewing food anymore. When I scheduled my appointment for the extraction, the receptionist scheduled me on the Sunday before labor day because I had requested a weekend date. Mind you, this appointment was made weeks before the actual date. Then the Friday before Labor Day, she called and said that she "forgot" that they were closed and that I had to rescheduled...I was really really annoyed because I had cancelled all my plans and switched around my work schedule to get these teeth taken out, and she just ruined everything in one phone call. I wouldn't have mind if they had called sooner, but cancelling on someone with such short notice was just not acceptable. I was pissed but what can I do? Once I finally got the appointment, I was lucky enough to have doctor Rafailov do my extractions, all 4 wisdom teeth. We took 2 out first then waited 2 weeks later to take out the last two. I honestly thought the procedure was going to take forever but it was faster than I though. I wasn't prescribed anything afterwards because it was a simple extractions since my teeth were growing straight and were not impacted. I just rinsed my mouth with salt water and took some Advil for pain, totally was not bad at all. I'm honestly thankful for him for doing such a great job!!

Ever since becoming Dr. Ye's patient, everything changed -- he has been incredibly responsible and attentive, and I haven't run into any dental issues since. He also kindly referred me to his colleague from NYU, who professionally helped me with my orthodontic treatment. Over the years, Dr. Yep has done my fillings and even my dental implants. The pricing is very reasonable, and the quality of care is outstanding. What I appreciate most is his warm, down-to-earth attitude. He always takes the time to chat and catch up, making you feel less like a patient and more like an old friend. The whole clinic has a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere.
