I recently visited Fred's Outdoors to purchase a firearm for the first time in Maryland, having…read moreonly purchased in Florida before. I explained this to the man behind the counter, and he immediately understood my concerns about the differences in laws and procedures. He took the time to walk me through the entire process, answered all of my questions clearly, and remained patient and helpful as I looked at multiple options. The cashier was also friendly and efficient, which made the rest of the experience smooth and hassle-free. That said, I want to acknowledge that months ago, I stopped by to ask some general questions and had a very different experience. The women working the back counter at the time were rude and unhelpful, which left a bad impression. So I understand why some of the negative reviews exist and I'd also be cautious of overly glowing reviews from other users with no review history. In short, Fred's may be hit or miss depending on who helps you, but this visit when I was ready to make a purchase was quick, painless, and left me with no complaints. Based on this latest experience, I will return for additional purchases.

The same guy is always upstairs working, and when white patrons come upstairs, he is friendly and attentive. When we, two black people, speak to him, he's short, and gives only the bare minimum. It's so frustrating that it's ALWAYS him and never one of the nicer folks downstairs - they're ALWAYS kind and personable.

You can reach out to Brad for recommendations which I really felt comfortable with because their communications were on-point, email, text, cell phone they won't leave you hanging, all my communications were returned promptly, and that didn't stop there. Their classroom setup was comfortable and efficient with two extremely large monitors that can be viewed from every seat in the classroom, comfortable chairs, and ample desk space for taking notes. As soon as we called him to come back after initial treatment, after standing up my tenants multiple times, he asked for more money. I pointed out that we have a service plan, he denied it. I provided him with written evidence, he ignored it. Most importantly, when I finally fired him and hired a reputable company, they pointed out that all the initial work he did was garbage. Specifically, he put duct tape over holes that he said he put metal plates over. Also, when a tenant accidentally overpaid by $100, he would not return the money. He said he found other work to do for the extra cash, and did that work without seeking my approval. He would not tell me what work this was... Avoid this guy at all costs.
