Very easy transaction, Steve had our car ready for a test drive and we loved it and came back 2 days later to purchase!

I offered a price and was told they needed to check with the owner when they came back much higher than i offered i said ok thanks if there is more money in my budget ill get back to you. They replied trying to get me to finance through them to pay less i said no. They came back to me with a best and final offer which i was interested so i came in. He was selling a vehicle to someone else he ran us the keys said take your time test driving it. There was almost no gas he said if you buy it I'll fill it up. We went and put a gallon in just to test drive it. Drive great no issues. Come back ask him about the gas he said i drove it for weeks this car is 100% fixed nothing is wrong it's good to go. The person they are selling the car to are eating showing eachother pictures hanging out basically. We waited 3 hours outside in the car i sent my family to get themselves food for him to say are you coming back i said I'm still here. They came back alittle after finally our turn. Seemed great told us about his kids and dogs ect i told him about the terrible loss we had and how we needed this car. He never filled the tank because " our gas station is closed" after i waited hours to be seen. I drove home and to work the next day to find out it's saying check fuel cap. I message them like hey what's going on with this you guys said 100% and told me multiple times it has been inspected. They pretty much said that's what you get for buying used. Then said we should have gotten a warranty mind you he did not offer it to us until a day AFTER buying it the SAME Day i messaged him about the fuel cap. Then after i sent him his own messages about his claims of the vehicle they offered me a new gas cap which after looking up was .0001% chance that was the case. But he told me it was in the next day. I drove home almost home it comes on i let them know they claim they will work with me on it but i need to pay half for all repairs i said no you guys promised me this was 100% many many many times they said i lost MY "goodwill" by getting the price lower even though they came back to me with an offer and the offer was within NADA current market. They even try to say if i get it fixed with them i would need pay half of the gas cap they ALREADY gave me which did not fix the problem and they cut and took my old cap. Uh no. I was irate i do not trust them to fix my vehicle. RUN THE CODES MAKE THEM FILL THE CAR THEY WILL SCAM YOU FOR $1. My salesman will probably reply to this as he told us he does. He WAS a nice guy so we thought. Just think twice and do your research drive the car far so you can truly see its quirks. Im not saying every car is bad im saying they will lie to your face regardless as this was not a freak experience. I ran the codes they knew what they were doing.

Highly recommend Paul and Wyrick!

At the end of the day you're always taking a risk buying a 15 year old car with some miles on it. You do sign multiple agreements stating the business isn't liable after sale and offer you to get the vehicle pre inspected, so to reference a previous review, the business is not liable after sale. What I mean here is the business is not sketchy. This place primarily sells Japanese manufacture based vehicles (Honda, Subaru, Toyota). I've put about 20,000 miles on the car and have only done brakes and oil changes, and a couple cosmetic things. It's been a very reliable car. Customer service is also good. It's a smaller car lot but I would recommend them to others.

My Husband & Daughter purchased a 2009 Subaru Impreza from dealership, Mitten Auto Sales, on…read moreNovember 23, 2020. My husband with limited capacity due to a broker collar bone looked under the car which was clean and appeared to have been power washed. They test drove the Subaru Impreza (4miles) with no warning lights on dash. He spoke with Leslie & expressed his concern regarding the head gasket issues on Subaru's. Leslie, the Owner of Mitten Auto Sales, said the car was inspected by her mechanic. We found after purchasing the car and driving 17 miles home, the tire pressure monitor light came on and there was oil leaking on our cement driveway where it was parked. We called, text her website & sent emails to Leslie with our concerns, Leslie stated her mechanic said "the car overall is in good condition, but the head gasket has slight oil seepage" and refused to have her mechanic look at it when we asked. She also stated her mechanic said "it should not be leaving oil stains". We took the car into a licensed mechanic to see what the issues were as we were concerned about the head gaskets. The licensed mechanic confirmed that one head gasket was dripping and the other head gasket was seeping. Estimated repair cost of $2200-$2300.00. We asked Leslie if Mitten Auto Sales would pay $1,000.00 towards the head gasket repairs. Leslie's only option for us was they would purchase the car back, minus $500 restocking fee, $210.00 doc fee, $408.60 taxes, $128.00 license plate & $15.00 fees. At this point this was not an option as our daughter would lose out on $1261.60. We have filed a complaint with the State of Michigan due to the negligence of Leslie's knowledge of the Head Gasket issues & failing to tell my husband and daughter. We truly try to support local small family owned businesses in our area. Unfortunately, we would NOT recommend purchasing a vehicle from Mitten Auto Sales. To be continued....

They did want to fix any of the issues. We had to twist their arm just to drop the price three hundred bucks. When there repairs to make things right of $860.95. They acted like we were trying to rob them. We bought the Escape they did not even fill the gas tank with gas. I drove Escape just a mile down the road and the gas light came on after telling there was gas in the car. Two weeks later before I had an appointment to fix all the issues the Ford Escape would not move by stop sign. I had all I could do to get it gear to move the car to a parking lot. I got towed to the mechanic and got bad news the transmission is burned out. It will cost anywhere from three thousand to four thousand to fix the transmission. Tried reach to them if they could work something out. Chip said read the paperwork you sign. It sold as is. You bought it you own it. I can't believe these great reviews this can't be the same guy. He must of paid the people to give him such great reviews. I would not buy a pig from this guy.

I also bought the car on 4/4/23 and they made me put 3/31/23 on all my paperwork to make it look like they sold the car in March so they could hit their sales number to get a bonus. I also told Todd that the oil looked dirty and would like it changed before buying it. He shows me an invoice that it was done already. See photos below and you be the judge if that looks like fresh oil. My car also had a check engine light the very next day after buying. kinda coincidental that comes on after I buy the warranty. They put me in a rental and fixed it, which was nice. Todd never got back to me when I mentioned to him about how the oil was not changed. Who knows what else was overlooked. Good thing I have a warranty I guess. They also stripped my air intake box screws when I brought the vehicle in to get repaired. I learned a lot from this buying experience and I will never get swindled like this again.
