MK One has closed down and with Adams reportedly in trouble, new businesses could be filling these units. hopefully sooner than later. In the Market hall there is a range of stalls, sadly not as many as there once was but I guess that's just a sign of the times. There is a very reputable butch - no they're 2 in fact. A fruit and veg stall, a pet shop, a ladies ahem undergarment stall as well as various clothes and gift shops, and as you would expect from a market - the prices are good! The Vaults downstairs are in comparison a fairly new addition the the market - but offer something different, the stalls, well more like teeny shops are incredibly interesting, from antiques to second hand 'retro' clothes there's even a America style shop selling cowboy hats and boots. The food hall is very dark and cold and during the refurb they installed a 'bakery' which made us chuckle when we saw it as it was just an oven on a wall ! However their food is good quality and you get what you pay for. Kids clothes are good quality and not too pricey. Womenswear and menswear (upstairs) is a little old fashioned for me at the moment but the place is heaving whenever there's a sale, granny's fighting over a navy twinset is always worth a view. Upstairs there is a little coffee shop which is pleasant enough, selling some of the food you can buy downstairs in the food hall and there's a toilet too. Underwear is good, large selection and not too expensive. I was treated extremely poorly once by a very rude duty manager but that's the only negative experience i've had in there. I do find the whole M&S experience annoying though and by the time i'm leaving i'm almost ready to scream, it's not a calm place to shop.

Christmas was getting closer and closer and I always panic that I haven't got enough so went in to take a closer look, in all honesty expecting some thin, 'cheap' paper, how wrong I was! the paper was Lovely, the sort of quality you would expect from a reputable store such as m&s. I ended up buying reems and reems of the stuff. They also had some lovely gift ideas, and had I not already done my xmas shopping, I would've found lots of useful bargains here. All in all.. I was quite, quite impressed!

It does vary on the day and sometimes I haven't bought anything and another day have staggered out with bags of stuff .It is ex-catalogue stuff and now and again they have a sale and sell stuff off really cheaply ,i have had trousers for 62p and skirts and tops for silly prices.I have a much admired padded jacket which I bought for £2.49.It was a size 28 and I altered it to an 18 but it was well worth the effort. They sell some furniture and household items. They get televisions dvd players and a host of other electrical stuff. They have some toys and there are some god bargains in footwear.The only problem is that you can get hooked and it is hard to resist things that you dont need when they are really cheap.

One of the main problems with the shop is the lack of parking immediately outside, it makes it difficult when buying a lot of heavy items, you can't even really pull up outside of either door because of where they are located. The queues at the till are another downside, they can be very long at times and very slow moving. The range of products is very extensive and very good value for money but you do need to check that they haven't at some point been trailed along the floor as alot of there items have.

The homeware part is great, upto date and modern pillows, mirrors, pictures, plates etc at good prices. Nowhere to park outside as it's at a very busy point in the middle of town, so if you do stock up on heavy household items you can struggle to get to the car. There are a couple of nearby car parks though. The queue for the tills is always long, no matter what time of day you go and during the summer the air conditioning had been turned off due to seagulls nesting in it and it was like an oven in there! Never mind the poor suffering customers as long as the birds are comfy haha! At the end of the day there are clothes piled everywhere and all over the floor, I pity the poor souls that have to go round picking everything up!

My parcel from Mainline Menswear was firstly due on and paid for a next day delivery which it…read morewasn't , it was then left in my recycling bin (which was in fact out for collection to be emptied ) their driver from their delivery firm DPD deeming this a safe place to leave my parcel!! This happened on the 22nd December and was a Christmas gift. My bin was emptied with the parcel inside ! It is now February and I still haven't received my refund or a replacement item. Instead I have been expected to wait over 6 almost 7 weeks with no resolution. To have my emails ignored now on two separate occasions by mainlines menswear and my claim of no goods received via Clearpay also ignored and not even responded to. Company now blocking me and deleting any negative review I leave on their socail media pages! Not exactly the actions of an innocent company .. just Shocking !!

It sells clothes mainly for the more mature lady but has several younger concessionary stands inside. Debenhams often has 'events' when the store is open until a ridiculously late hour with discounts on everything in store, blue cross sales, end of season sales, mid season sales, in fact there's nearly a sale for every other week!! This does raise suspicions as to are they really genuine sales but sometimes you can get some really good offers. There is a cafe upstairs and a toliet. The cafe is generally quiet and has a loyalty card, each time a tea or coffee is purchased your card is stamped and when the card is full you can get a free hot drink. It's fairly expensive and doesn't have a huge range to choose from but you are almost always guaranteed to get a table.

I must say in the last year, especially the last few months, there have been a lot of changes for the better in the shop, and the cards have been updated with a lovely range that are a good price and different to everywhere else in this town. That and the moving around they've done makes the place seem even bigger. I would really recommend anyone to visit the shop, there are few with such a personal and individual touch nowadays.
