There are steps to the entrance,but there may be disabled access somewhere.People tend to congregate in the entrance and just inside. Once you have negotiated all this there is a lot on offer and bargains to be had.They have clothes, sometomes they have big name stuff especially sportswear.There is household ,gifts diy and furnishings. They sell toys ,sweets, stationary including kids stuff.The haberdashery department is very usefull and you can buy e,astic ,tape etc.by the metre.They often have things lke an household event where there will be special offers.

My personal recommendation would have to be the bacon sandwiches served in fresh homemade rolls (with brown sauce of course). (It is also my understanding that the cafe is owned and run by the Camphill Village Trust and offers work opportunities to adults with learning disabilities and other special needs. - I only mention this as the staff always seem to be having such a great time that it undoubtedly contributes to the positive atmosphere the place has.)

It is not a grocery shop and does not attempt to be one, it just has loads of things which you can get in the quantities you want. If you cannot see it, just ask, as they have stuff which is not on display because the shop is full already. Watch out too for the idiosyncratic alternate shelf packing - look behind what you see as the next packet might be what you want! Aside from the usual baking ingredients, they also have loads of cereals, which are well priced, and lots of loose sweets and chocolates. They also have some general groceries, but the selection is quite small, the main focus is on the loose items. Most of the merchandise is quite cheap, apart from the ready packaged items, which are usually a bit more than elsewhere. Very useful shop though, and the staff are always happy to help if you need it.

Jacksons has been undergoing a switchover to sainsburys, or at least they are being ran by sainsburys, as they are stocking the producs, use the bags, and have the same uniforms, but the sign has not yet changed so I'm guessing the changeover has more to be done. The store probably needs a bit of tlc before sainsburys want to put their name on it. It looks like its been a while since its had a good makeover. The selection of items available is good though, all you would expect from a shop of its size. The prices aren't cheap, but for the convenience of it, you can't complain really. The staff are always nice, and the atmosphere is usually friendly. The only problem is that the car park could do with a few more spaces during busy periods, other than that a great place to get your late night shopping.

They allways dress thase windows well and have some lovely coordinated clothes and seem to keep in tune with the seasons.If you want an outfit (or maybe just a hat) for a wedding or similar occasion this shop is worth a look.This shop looks as if it might have been a dress shop in the past as it has some nice units with hanging space.There is also shelves of bric a brac It is a roomy shop and gives you space to look. Further back there are some larger items and lots of books.
