Several of the smaller units on one of the strips have closed down and construction has just started to turn this space into one large unit taken by Next which will be great as the Next we currently have resembles a broom cupboard!! MK One has closed down and with Adams reportedly in trouble, new businesses could be filling these units. hopefully sooner than later. It has craft stalls around the upper mall during certain times of the year and has a good feeling to the place.

The food hall is very dark and cold and during the refurb they installed a 'bakery' which made us chuckle when we saw it as it was just an oven on a wall ! However their food is good quality and you get what you pay for. Kids clothes are good quality and not too pricey. Womenswear and menswear (upstairs) is a little old fashioned for me at the moment but the place is heaving whenever there's a sale, granny's fighting over a navy twinset is always worth a view. Upstairs there is a little coffee shop which is pleasant enough, selling some of the food you can buy downstairs in the food hall and there's a toilet too. Underwear is good, large selection and not too expensive. I was treated extremely poorly once by a very rude duty manager but that's the only negative experience i've had in there. I do find the whole M&S experience annoying though and by the time i'm leaving i'm almost ready to scream, it's not a calm place to shop.

It sells clothes mainly for the more mature lady but has several younger concessionary stands inside. Debenhams often has 'events' when the store is open until a ridiculously late hour with discounts on everything in store, blue cross sales, end of season sales, mid season sales, in fact there's nearly a sale for every other week!! This does raise suspicions as to are they really genuine sales but sometimes you can get some really good offers. There is a cafe upstairs and a toliet. The cafe is generally quiet and has a loyalty card, each time a tea or coffee is purchased your card is stamped and when the card is full you can get a free hot drink. It's fairly expensive and doesn't have a huge range to choose from but you are almost always guaranteed to get a table.

When doing research at places I know pretty well and do go and spend time at, I thought I have to…read morewrite my review for 'House of Fraser' I can't speak for anyone else about this one, but I really love it, their have been some changes over the years to the store, some good, some not so good, but all in all, it's your typical department store where you can go, you can enjoy looking around, their is a Caffe Nero there that is very good and though out the departments, a wide range of fashion, home, furniture and food..etc.. You name it. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, always on hand to help. I myself am saving up for Xmas (coming to quick) and they have some great ideas for presents too. My advice, save up a bit, put some money aside and go and treat yourself from time to time. At 'House of Fraser' their is something there for everyone!

But recently when strolling past I happened to notice that had some Christmas wrapping paper in the window. Christmas was getting closer and closer and I always panic that I haven't got enough so went in to take a closer look, in all honesty expecting some thin, 'cheap' paper, how wrong I was! the paper was Lovely, the sort of quality you would expect from a reputable store such as m&s. I ended up buying reems and reems of the stuff. They also had some lovely gift ideas, and had I not already done my xmas shopping, I would've found lots of useful bargains here. All in all.. It does vary on the day and sometimes I haven't bought anything and another day have staggered out with bags of stuff .It is ex-catalogue stuff and now and again they have a sale and sell stuff off really cheaply ,i have had trousers for 62p and skirts and tops for silly prices.I have a much admired padded jacket which I bought for £2.49.It was a size 28 and I altered it to an 18 but it was well worth the effort. They sell some furniture and household items. They get televisions dvd players and a host of other electrical stuff. They have some toys and there are some god bargains in footwear.The only problem is that you can get hooked and it is hard to resist things that you dont need when they are really cheap.

I have allways particularly liked the sewing department. They have trimmings ,elastic etc.by the metre. They have loads of craft stuff, gardening ,clothes ,shoes. The DIY department is good . There are some very good special offers and famous names in clothes and electricals at fantastic prices.they have sweets and household items. There was one big disappointment---they stopped selling curtain fabrics which they had long been famous for. I couldn't believe it at first and assumed it was being moved.Then I tried stores in other towns and they had stopped too.

I bought bootcut joggers and a charcoal hooded lounge top and those are fine, but the green satin feel pyjamas has ripped and the green lounge top has a hole where the neck band meets the fluffy fabric. The sizing for the pyjamas is also really weird. Can't keep them on my waist despite pulling the drawstring as tight as possible, but sitting down it's like there isn't enough fabric in the lower hip, hence 4 inch rip in the seam, despite me being a size 16-18 and I bought a size 20. The top is tighter than the bottoms. Just another instance of clothing retailers adding an extra inch or two for every size up rather than realising that body proportions aren't just straight up and down (unless rectangle is your body shape, but at plus size that is unusual). Disappointing considering M&S isn't cheap, even outlet prices are more expensive than buying clothing from other high street retailers. I'd recommend checking fabric types and such otherwise it isn't good value if items don't even last past the first wear.

Generally the stock is well picked over, and a bit of a mess! You can however, if you're prepared to fight the crowds get some good bargains - the best being on children's clothes. What I tend to do is buy for 6/12 months ahead as the clothes on sale are usually from the season before. For example, winter clothes can usually be bought in spring and visa versa. for ladies clothes, there isn't an awful lot - but you can get some good bargains if you need to stock up your underwear draw!

Bridlingtons Boyes' is a massive store over many floors. They have DIY goods, craft and sewing,…read moreclothes for adults and children. There is an extensive furniture section and a toy area. I love the top floor the best, that is where their gift range is kept with lots of lovely presents. On the top floor there is also a small museum with the history of the shop and the area. There is a little cafe on the top floor as well with spectacular views of the beach and town. They have delicious food, with some unique specials as well as the traditional food. You have to visit the store at Christmas to look at the specially decorated windows and the grotto area. The window will have a display with moving figures and will be beautiful.
