I was there 3 weeks ago. Here are some pictures of what my hair looks like now. UNBELIEVABLE!!! What can I say except I'm warning you if you see Mitchell it's a mistake. I thought that using a Groupon I'd get a professional color and cut in the hopes that I'd come back and be a regular. Not the case, I got the least experienced stylist ( and I use that term loosely) with the personality of a damp mop. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! read more

Theresa is the best. Came back to her for the best cuts and coloring. Highly recommend her!

amazing work on thick curly hair, listens and provides excellent experienced feedback.. wonderful personal vibe!

The lovely ladies at this Salon make me feel special every time I return! Ive never been a very pretty woman, but they always make me feel like more. Not like other upscale salons where the staff can be snooty. Agape in Waterford treats everyone wonderfully! Ive come here for hair cuts, style, color, conditioning treatments, pedicures(back when they did them), and facials. Noelle did my facial and it was so relaxing and beneficial for my face. Fine staff all around! I will always return! read more

I wrote my first review for Agape Salon right after I was there and was in the new experience fog. After living with the "new" hairdo for a few weeks, I decided to update. While my base color (which Angelina pulled through after touching up my roots) is good, the highlights are kind of blotchy and are mostly on the top of my head; they don't really go through to the ends of my hair. And I'm wondering now if she really did cut ANY of my hair; I can't see or feel any noticeable difference from before I was there. I know I only asked for a trim, but usually, there is some re-shaping and neatening up. I remember telling her that I like the long layers and thought she re-cut them, but apparently not. I'm starting to feel like I need another hair cut, and it's only been about 3 weeks.. (And I do not get my hair cut frequently at all!) I did notice that another stylist also barely cut another patron's hair, so it makes me wonder if they're scissors-shy. My guess is that she is new, and that that's why they Groupon I bought was only for her. I will still consider returning, as I really liked the people and the ambiance, but I will be more diligent and authoritative in what I want them to do. I usually have good luck leaving it up to the stylist to do what they want, within certain guidelines, but apparently, they need more guidance here. read more

I was a first time client, and had my hair cut by Teresa. She was GREAT! My hair looks exactly like the photo I brought in. The price was also very affordable. I think I found my favorite salon! read more

I tried Agape a few months back for a full color and had a good experience with Dena. So I scheduled my next appointment that day. I explained to her that I would be going blonde at my next appointment from dark brown. Two weeks before the appointment I called to reschedule. No problem. When I arrived for my appointment I reviewed with Dena what I want my hair to look like and she stated "It will take several appointments to get it that blonde". I asked her why, as I have been doing this to my hair every year and no one has ever said I had to have multiple appointments to get it that light. She stated that the receptionist didn't schedule enough time for the appointment. She was very sorry but both receptionists they have are new. No problem, people make errors, but in no way did anyone there try to rectify the situation. I had to ask if maybe she could start the color and another person finish it. (Not possible everyone was booked). No,"let me see what we can do for you" or a discount was offered. I find this to be very poor customer service. Very disappointed. read more

I saw Nicole for the first time this past Saturday, I am SO happy with my choice of coming to this salon. I'm new to the area and this will be my permanent hair salon for the future. I was driving 45+ minutes to get my hair done and now I don't have to. The staff I encountered from making my appointment to arriving and leaving the salon were all wonderful. They got me an appointment with just one week notice, and they were very friendly & welcoming when I arrived. The salon is small, but it is updated inside. Very cute, small salon. Nicole was awesome, very friendly and took her time. I am beyond happy with my cut and color. She was friendly, personable, and gave me suggestions to get the color & cut I was looking for. Can't wait to go back again. read more

First time there, Waited ~30 minutes beyond appointment time for service. I arrived at a couple minutes prior to appointment time. Another customer who showed up shortly after me, and who it appeared was better known by staff - maybe a regular, was taken back for his cut. Afterwards, the same stylist took me. Either they were running way behind and didn't notify me in advance, or they slid him in before me. Received a basic cut, nothing better than Fantastic Sam's, but 10X more money. read more

Best salon in the area Very professional! Nice friendly atmosphere with great stylists! Chelsea has given me my haircuts. She spends time making sure she understands exactly want you want. She does an awesome job. Always 5 star plus!!! read more

Tried this place out on a whim, as I needed a place that would take my daughter and I both on somewhat short notice. I have had a lot of annoying experiences over the last year with local salons. After having left California, I was never able to find one I wanted to return to, mostly due to stylists who gave me the same hot iron cut again and again over my objections. This salon is located in an unassuming strip mall. When we visited, it was sparkling clean and attractive. Sofie and I both had cuts by Nicole, who did a terrific job- she listened and gave me the exact cut I asked for - a low maintenance do that works with my naturally wavy hair and doesn't require an hour of fussing to look presentable. My daughter likewise got exactly what she asked for, and was quite pleased. The reasonable prices (especially compared to some of the places in A2) were another big plus. read more

I have been going to Agape for over two years now. Even though I have moved out of the area I still continue to drive 45 minutes to come here. This salon has some of the best knowledgeable, kind, friendly staff I have ever known and have the pleasure of meeting. I have been going to my stylist Nicole since my first visit. When I first moved to the area I was researching for hair salon and Agape happened to came up. I didn't know which stylist to pick from, but I was lucky enough to get Nicole. She always gives me the best hair cut and color every time. Trust me when I say that really knows her stuff! No matter your hair type and color, it will turn out better than you can imagine. All the stylist at Agape are very experienced and knowledgable. You will be lucky with whoever you get. Give Agape a chance and they will NOT disappoint! read more

I had been going to Jessica just for a hair style the first few times. After about four visits, I thought it would be ok to get some highlights. We discussed what I was looking for and I even showed her on the color board, so there would be no confusion. When she was done, they were not at all what we agreed on and I told her before I left the shop that I was not happy and she did not offer any solutions. When I went up to pay, I was charged for an additional service that I did not ask for or book. At that point, I just paid and left. Later that day, I called and asked if she could fix the highlights and she said she would have to charge me again. Needless to say, I will not be going back and do Not recommend going there. read more

I found Agape through Yelp right after I moved to the area. It's now been almost 2 years, and I'm still very happy here. Dina always does a great job with my haircuts. Everyone is always friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. read more

I went out on a limb and purchased a Groupon for a cut and style. I had never heard of Agape so, I was a bit apprehensive...however that all changed when I walked in. I was greeted immediately by several of the stylist at the front desk. They were welcoming and sweet. While waiting for my stylist I was offered something to drink. I opted for coffee. To my surprise I was asked which flavor creamer i wanted. What a nice touch. They had there own barista lol. After hanging up me coat I scanned the salon. It was small and quaint. Fun and trendy. Everyone was welcoming, dressed cute and they all had sassy hair. My stylist Chealsea was adorable! She actually took the time to ask me what I wanted. Then, she gave me her professional opinion. I honestly couldn't have been happier with my cut. It was exactly what I wanted! I am VERY picky when it comes to my hair. But, with Chelsea I will never have to worry again. I was so pleased that I booked an appointment for a ombre (which was today). Perfection! It came out beautifully! She even took the extra time to get the color just right too. She had a vision and she wanted to make sure my hair looked its best. I know this a long review...i just wanted to give credit where credit is due. If you're looking a new stylist, please try this place out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Lisa has been doing my hair for about 4 years. The hair style I had before was not very flattering on me. Every time Lisa does my hair, it always looks great. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was phenomenal. In the last year, they began doing keratin bonded extensions. I have had them from Lisa for about 8 months now. Nobody knows they are extensions! She matched the color flawlessly! The environment in the salon is super friendly, and I always feel welcome and comfortable. The prices are great! I moved and now drive to Waterford from Rochester Hills. I can't imagine I will ever leave. I sure hope I don't move farther! read more

Everyone here is so welcoming and kind. The salon is clean, modern, and super cute. Chelsey has been my stylist for a little over a year and I've loved every cut and color she's done! read more

This "salon" is completely unprofessional in every aspect! From the owner to the staff, unfriendly, cold, quite incompotent. The majority of the "stylists" stand around drinking coffee the inside and "reception" area could seriously use a cleaning. I am suprised that they have been in business as long as they have! read more

I went here after a terrible haircut. Never go to great clips for a quick trim with curly hair! My hair was literally butchered! There was a legit hole in my hair! How does that even work? I made am appointment with Lisa, she was extremely nice and easy to talk to. She knew exactly how to fix it. She had some cool curly hair tricks that she used. I was extremely impressed! I will definitely be going here from now on, and I will ask for Lisa every time! My hair went from 0% to 100%! Now I just need to wait and grow it out! I recommend this salon and my new stylist Lisa! read more

So I have always had long hair, so I was slightly nervous and excited to go short today with some balayage highlights. I saw Chelsey today and not only was she great, my hair turned out great too! She was extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back to get my hair done again with her! read more

Teresa did a wonderful job chopping all of my hair off! :) I was a little nervous cutting 5-7 inches off of my hair, but they were very personable and easy to talk to. It made the process much less stressful. She was very knowledgable about her profession and it shined through her recommendations. Typically, I don't talk much during my haircuts, but Teresa was very easy to talk to, and we had a lot to talk about! Thanks agape! I'm sad I am moving away from Waterford! read more

I have been a customer of Agape Salon for quite some time and was sent an email from the owner of this salon to tell me that I could no longer book my appointments in advance because I've had to cancel hair appointments and reschedule, 1) very seldom is anyone able to get an appointment on the date they want - especially for a hair appointment unless your establishment offers "walk-ins." 2) there are 1,000's of hair salons in the area. Apparently, the owner of this salon doesn't need clientele to keep her business open and running. Good luck with that, Theresa (owner). If you don't know someone as a friend/family member, you'll never know what happens to someone or what they go thru to prevent them from being at any appointment. I would never, after this experience, suggest anyone EVER book an appointment with this sorry of an establishment. read more

Abby did a wonderful job on my hair again. I have naturally dark hair brown hair that I had dyed burgundy. After just two visits (the first was great), she returned me to the most perfect shade of blonde. Very sweet, down to earth, affordable, and comfortable to talk to. I am definitely recommending Abby to my friends. Even my co workers were impressed by my color, they pay more and get less. Definitely worth a try! Love! Love My hair :) read more

Id think twice about choosing this salon. Had a horrible cut and color and when i called management with my complaints i received a nasty email from the stylist saying she refused to correct her mistakes. So now im out my $ and still on the search for a professional stylist who takes pride in her work. Makes me sick to think she can live with herself and sleep at night knowing she had such an unhappy client. But i guess not everybody takes pride in their work like you would expect them to. read more

I purchased a gift certificate for my girlfriend to get her nails done. Her appointment was for a Saturday at 2:30 but did not sit down to get started until almost 3:00. She did however have an enjoyable experience with Theresa, the owner. On the following Monday, while zipping up her coat one of her nails fell off, it did not break, it just fell off. My girlfriend had to glue it back on herself, we could have called, made another appointment for her to have it repaired but with her job and our 2 year old time is limited. Upon further inspection we found a few different imperfections with her nails. I paid 40 bucks for these, she's went to the less expensive salons, which I wasn't a big fan of because of cleanliness and other concerns but to be honest their work always lasted and was 15 bucks less. Needless to say we will not be return customers. read more
