Worst rental place I've ever dealt with. I called to rent a skid steer for yard project. I spoke…read morewith Tony who was very courteous, and he scheduled the date. He confirmed the delivery round trip to be $150. Then when I went to their office to put card on file, I dealt with Brad. He confirmed date and said the delivery round trip is $200, I said Tony confirmed it as $150. He said, "He is an idiot". That's when I should have cancelled the rental. Very unprofessional. But I decided to go through with rental. On Wednesday prior to my delivery on Friday evening, I called to confirm time of delivery so I could be there and have chance to inspect equipment. I was told they would call me when on the way. They did not. The skid steer was dropped at end of my drive which is 200 yards and out of site of the house. I had no idea it was there until we were leaving the house. I inspected the equipment, took pictures, because the tracks were worn down with no traction and metal gears sticking out of grip holes. I would have declined the delivery If I had been able to inspect it prior to the drop. Bob Cat states tracks should be replaced at 300 hours of use. The hours on the equipment when dropped read 355. It took me two hours having no tread to clear a 15 X 15 area. Then when starting to grade my 28 X 28 area, the right track slipped off. I contacted them and was told you can either put it back on yourself (Right), or they could send someone that will put it back on and cost an additional $150. I told them to just come pick it up. I got 3.5 hours of time on an 8-hour (day) rental. I normally deal with Liberty Rental in Talking Rock, and they have the best service and maintained equipment. Only reason I went to Ellijay Tool Rental was that Liberty no longer has the smaller skid steer. But I will go back to them for all future rentals.

I have rented from Maryville equipment rental for years and I've had very positive experiences with them as far as pricing and customer service goes but today they lost a customer. When I picked up the machine, it was clear it had seen better days, but I was assured it was still in working condition. Within ten minutes of use the track on the excavator split. While they did replace it, the second machine also had issues with the track -- all while operating under normal conditions. To my surprise, I later received a charge of $814 for track replacement. Despite being a loyal customer, they refused to waive or reduce the fee, even though the equipment's condition was questionable from the start. while their terms and conditions that they make their customer sign in order to rent out equipment does state that the person leasing or renting the equipment is held liable for track damage or tire replacement, I feel as if the objective truth is that they are renting out equipment that is not suitable for normal working conditions and they are banking on their customer to "Damage the unit" And then charge them to repair the machinery when a well maintained piece of machinery would have handled fine under normal operating conditions and especially when they could have performed routine maintenance on the equipment to prevent this from happening Should I have taken photos before pulling the equipment off the lot? Yes. Should I have asked to swap it out with a better maintained machine? Yes. A word of caution to anyone considering renting from them: Make sure you thoroughly inspect the equipment and take clear photos and videos before pulling it off the lot. In my case, it seems they're renting out machines that are too worn to be in circulation, and you may end up footing the bill for pre-existing issues. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be renting from them again.
