My first time trying Afters and I like the interesting ice cream flavors. All the things I sampled were good. This location is next to Costco and the Mall, with its own parking lot that is 90 minutes free. I ended up going with the Ube Brownie and Cookie Monster. The Cookie Monster dyed my tongue blue but it was a great mix of cookie dough and other deliciousness. I like how the Ube Bronwie really tasted like Ube and was the right combination of sweet and fluffy/ light texture. The signs inside also reaffirm our inner foodie and reminded us that ice cream is cheaper than therapy, we count blessings and not our calories, and we leave our diet at the door. Enjoy life!

Frozen hot cocoa

Why would you get rid of frozen hot cocoa flavor??? This review has nothing to do with service of this location but solely based on the fact that they got rid of one of my favorite flavor. I came here religiously once a week for their frozen hot cocoa flavor. It was the only flavor that was not overly sweet. They replaced it with killer chocolate which is absolutely horrible. It's so sweet and left a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I will not come here again if and until they bring back frozen hot cocoa. Apparently they got rid of it to create more of a selection. Stupid idea. Why would you have killer chocolate brownie and dark matter brownie batter? They taste practically the same. The frozen hot cocoa was at least a much lighter chocolate. You actually limited your selection.

After brunch we stopped at Topanga Village to walk around and ended up doing some shopping. My son and daughter-in-law decided on Afters Ice Cream for a sweet treat. Incredibly cute, clean, open space. Friendly staff. Super-yummy ice cream!

Gotta love some ice cream on a hot sunny day! I love the portions here and it really makes me feel happy when I walk into this place. With all the cool captions around and the cool and nice service. I came here with family and they got us in and out quick.

Ube Brownie

Solid ice cream shop (better than Sloan's IMO) with an eclectic choice of flavors. You can get a cup, cone, shake, or stuffed in a milky bun (like a donut). Some standouts include the ube brownie, the Cookie Monster, and the Saigon coffee. Nothing is too sweet (the highest form of compliment from an Asian person lol) and definitely worth a visit, especially if you're dining in the village.

Wow it's so freaking good. 4 stars bc they do limit your samples to two, which kinda sucks. Flavors are unique and amazing. Cookie Monster being the basic staple. It's delicious. They had an ube brownie ice cream and that was legit. Plenty of other delicious flavors too. Ice cream is creamy and they packed up my pints nicely.

Milk & Cereal with after flakes
Sky K.

This is a straight up complaint. I ordered milk and cereal as one of my scoops. It literally says in the description, that it comes with after flakes. I get my ice cream and there's no flakes. So I asked the worker, doesn't this come with the after flakes? Worker: Did you want after flakes? (In a very condescending tone) Me thinking, ummmm why would I stop to ask after I paid?: yes Worker: oh yea because you have to ask for it. Me: it literally says it comes with after flakes with a description on it. Worker: yea, YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT I have ordered milk and cereal many of times. Usually the workers ask if after flakes is ok or if I would want another cereal. Not only does she not know her products as a worker, but her tone is unappreciative. Ice cream here is just ok. It's good, not great, but ok. With service like this, it's no wonder why afters is always dead now. I remember coming here a few times a week with people lining, sometimes out the door. Now? You can hear crickets. Maybe workers like this is ruining this brand. Avoid this location. It's really not worth it. Time stamp of visit: 6/19/24 9:45 pm

Inside the Topanga Village shopping plaza is this dessert ice cream spot. They offer an array of exotic flavors like Thai tea and Jasmine flowers. They literally taste like their names. I had the cereal milk and loved it. They offer samples, so you can try before making your selection. The young staff here are friendly and happy to help. I wouldn't say this is the best ice cream that I've had but I'm always happy to see a dessert place in a shopping area. It's a cute space made for take away. So, grab a cup or cone and window shop in Woodland Hills! See website for location, menu , hours and more.

Ice cream selection

Afters is one of my favorite dessert places to go to when I'm visiting California mainly because they have my 2 favorite desserts in one: ice cream and donuts. What's not to like, right? All the ice cream flavors I've tried have all been great. I personally like the Saigon coffee and jasmine flavors the most. I do feel the need to take off one star here though because the bathrooms which are in clear sight from the main dining area are closed off because they're for "employees only". I don't know if I've ever been to a food spot that denies access to bathrooms before.

I was STUFFED from dinner but I had to run over here for a treat! I loved the vibes of Afters. I had never been to another location but loved all the decor in this one. They have a variety of flavors and they give you an option to do half and half flavors for 0.75 cents more. Their most popular flavor I was told is the Cookie Monster but I went with their Oreo cookies monster and it was so good. My friend got the Jasmine Milk Tea ice cream and it was delicious. I had as my sample the brownie batter ice cream which is good if you are a hardcore chocolate lover. They use food coloring in a lot of the ice creams to give them their pretty colors and flavors. *single scoop of ice cream is $5.95

Cookie Monster & Milk & Cereal with captain crunch

Plentiful selection of unique ice cream flavors. My go to include the Cookie Monster and the milk & cereal ice cream. I usually opt out for a cup rather than a donut option, however I do recommend trying the ice cream in the donut at least once. Afters is definitely a treat and on the pricier side, but the quality is there.

So many flavors to choose from but ended up ordering the ube ice cream. It was smooth and creepy in texture and the right amount of sweetness. The server was very nice and let us sample other flavors. Cute little ice cream shop by the mall. Definitely go check it out!

Half cookie butter half frozen hot chocolate.
Monica S.

The place is nice and clean and big enough for the line that forms. The service was pleasant. The ice cream is really good with a great texture, nice and thick but a bit on the sweeter side. Tried the cookie butter and frozen hot chocolate as a half and half scoop. A bit pricey, 5.95 for one scoop add .75 to make it half and half. Husband got a milkshake for $9.95!

Honey Affogato: 4/5 I usually go for items with caffeine and I wanted to like it more than I actually did. It was cold and refreshing at first but the coffee tasted a little too bitter towards the bottom of the cup. Dear Chocolate: 5/5 No notes other than, it was perfection. My friend mixed the chocolate well with the soft serve, and she liked the consistency and texture. It wasn't too sweet for her either. She also did not add the sea salt Sweetie: 5/5 The honeycomb "chunk" is chewy and had a more natural taste to it, if that is what you're into! Combined with the lightness of the soft serve, the Sweetie is a solid choice for the people who are looking for sweets that are not too sweet. Overall, this is a great spot for a sweet treat. The area did get a slight upgrade from what I heard - they have a photo booth and the walls look like they've been painted over for a more vibrant yellow. They also sell merch of Honeymee tumblrs, mugs, and of course, local honey jars! Parking is challenging because this location is smack dab in the heart of Little Tokyo Village! First, they swapped out one of their best topping options -- the simple, crunchy cornflakes -- for a rainbow fruity‑pebbles-style topping. For a place that advertises organic ice‑cream, this choice feels completely off‑brand. Those colorful flakes are almost guaranteed to contain artificial dyes and flavorings, which contradicts the whole "organic" concept. On top of that, the topping is overly sweet and has such a strong flavor that it overpowers the ice‑cream unless you're eating a very neutral flavor like vanilla. It's just not a good match. And now, the biggest disappointment: they removed their best flavor, Taro, and replaced it with mango. Taro was unique, subtle, and one of the main reasons this shop stood out from the crowd.
