He will also tell you he's coming back in a few weeks to finish what needs to be done but never shows up. Since I wrote the review below, the owner of AGS called me and was very apologetic and explained…read morethe situation. She has since terminated the surveyor who was responsible for this. I was really impressed that she took the time to call and explain. I've upgraded the review to 3 stars as a result. ******************************** Early in 2015 I purchased a lot for the purpose of building a house; the lot was part of a plat that was shared with another lot. When the original surveyor created and recorded the plat 8 years ago, he made a scrivener's error. This error was discovered by the City of Houston in 2015 while I was trying to get permits to build my house. The City required that we have that error corrected before we could move forward with the build. The survey company that did the plat was no longer in business but I was able to find the actual surveyor who created the plat and he happened to be employed by AGS Consultants. I was quite relieved to find him and reached out to him. I knew that I would have to pay for this service and NEVER expected it to be free. For one thing it was 8 years ago and the original company was no longer in business. When Dan submitted the proposal to amend this plat I was shocked. AGS wanted to charge me $8000 to amend it. They wanted to charge me to do a whole new plat and and an amended plat. The original plat was only $4000. I was absolutely stunned. There was no apology from Dan for having made the error in the first place. When I considered this situation, it seemed to me that one of the 3 scenarios was at play. 1) They didn't want to be bothered with this and hoped the sticker shock would discourage me and I would go find someone else to take care of this problem. 2) They had no idea how to amend a plat and honestly believed they had to go through all these unnecessary steps. 3) They saw how desperate I was to get this problem resolved and perceived an opportunity to make a buck off me. I did find a fabulous survey company that took care of this problem for me for 1/3 the cost; that included their going to the different lien holders to gather signatures. They were amazing. I have been in Real Estate for 10 years and I can tell you that having a good survey is extremely important. If you are looking for a good survey company these are not the guys to call; instead call a title company and see who they use. If a title company keeps a surveyor in their rolodex, there's a good reason for it.

I…read morewas interested in purchasing a home that had prior foundation issues and had hired Level Check to do the work. I reached out after touring the home and was concerned that possible foundation issues remained and if a warranty would transfer. Abigail walked me through the process and emailed me with detailed, transfer procedures which was so helpful! She was very knowledgeable, helpful and tried very hard to give me a good comfort level. I was in the service industry for many years and Abigail serves as a good example of how a professional should interact with their customers. in conclusion, I can't review Level Check's work, but hiring a quality employee such as Abigail, reflects favorably on the company as a whole. Incomplete or Inaccurate details? 1.The Tech did text my wife a bit after he left "Are yall gonna sign tonight"? If thats not pressure im not sure what is. 2.We did go with FIGURE and close our HELOC which was what my wife stated she was told.Thats why I gave her my info to apply for pre-approval. 3.My wife was told that the sub floor needed to be removed due to rot. That is damage right? Your estimate clearly states "damage" on sub flooring replacement.Does it not? One spot was damaged in laundry room. Not even a full sheet. Removing the sub floor was not needed. Please see pics. 4.As far as photos and conditions please see attached in this update. 5.The back end of house that was sitting on the ground did need the most attention and it got all new beams as they were rotted but no sub flooring. 6.I never mentioned "My Uncle" had foundation experience as all of my uncles are dead! Please read my review again and show me where I stated that? 7.Home was repaired SAFELY and CORRECTLY! Everything was done by the book. This company is licensed, bonded, and insured as well! All solutions were performed to be LONG TERM, not temporary. They removed 15 Cu tons of clay soil for access and repairs, spread it for me to divert water, and fixed all plumbing after home was leveled.Heres the kicker.......total out the door was $25,050.00.$10,025 at start and $15,025 final invoice upon completion!

I was put in touch with Jason Mendes who graciously gave me his cell number which I really appreciated as it made it super easy to communicate. They arrived on time and worked till 7 pm each day. Their work is AMAZING. When my wife and I saw the end result of an old bathroom being refinished, ours jaw dropped. TubNotch Renovations doesn't hold to their word! After leaving my original 2 star review, I had…read moreissues with my counter. I somehow scratch it and had to call TubNotch Renovations to see about getting it repaired. I didn't ask for it to be repaired under warranty, and I ask how much the repair would be. Jason called me back and said under the circumstances he would have it repair at no charge. He wanted me to be a happy client. Then he mentioned my review. We discussed it and Jason wanted to make things right. He said he would schedule a repair man to come by. Several days went by and I hear nothing. When I called, they wouldn't answer my call (they have called I.D. and the phone operator evidently didn't want to (or was instructed not to) intervene. Jason called me back and said "yes, he was going to schedule a repair guy to come out but we needed to talk about my review". WOW, now I'm being blackmailed. He will only repair my counter if I remove my BBB review. I told him I would be willing to update my review once something had been done to take care of my countertop. As of now, nothing has changed to warrant an edit. He again said he would get someone out but it never happened. It's been over a week and they now won't answer or return my call. I've ask for information about the owner and didn't get an answer about that information either. I don't know if they don't want me to talk to the owner or it the owner doesn't want to be bother. I feel I have made a huge mistake refinishing my countertop. It wouldn't have been that much more (because it's such a small area) to have stone or granite instead. I thought I was having problems because the refinish is just too fragile. But in speaking with another company, it seems as thought it has to do with how it's refinished. He said his countertop can be used as a cutting board. So it appears TubNotch Renovation put the color down, then the following day, the glaze. This can cause a chemical reaction and/or the surface not to be as stable as when the glaze and color are mixed together. Apparently, the refinishing process can be done several ways and if not done right it can really cause problems. I don't know TubNotch Renovations' process, but I do know they don't stand by their work. A company that won't return calls (when work is under warranty) is a red flag that they might not be a Top Notch company. If you are getting a countertop refinished, beware, if you are not happy and give a review that reflects that, the company may not want to provide ongoing service (even if under warranty -- which my bubbles would be under warranty). At least this is my experience with TubNotch Renovations.
