Amazing drinks! We stumbled upon this place after dinner across the street, and luckily for us, we were able to get seated quickly without a reservation on a weeknight. We walked through an ice cream shop and straight to a vending machine to get inside. The ambiance is dimly lit and intimate. Even though the tables are pretty close to each other, it still felt private. All the drinks are thoughtfully curated and each sip was delicious!
After Seven is a hidden speakeasy that I've been coming back to for a while now, and it's one of those places that never gets old. They change their cocktail menu regularly, but somehow I always end up finding a drink I love. The last time I visited, I ordered the Strawberry Tetsu and the Cloudy Oolong, and both were amazing. They were smooth, well balanced, and just the right amount of sweet without being overpowering. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation before you go, as it fills up quickly. Also be prepared for the tables to be fairly close together since it's a smaller space, but that's part of the cozy speakeasy atmosphere. The staff are always incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, and they're great at recommending drinks based on what you usually like.
There is a particular pleasure in discovering a bar that requires you to earn your entrance. After Seven conceals itself behind an ice cream counter, its existence betrayed only by those who know to ask -- a conceit that could easily feel gimmicky but instead lands with genuine charm, setting the tone for what follows with quiet confidence. The room is small, intentional, and lovely: intimate seating, a sculptural emerald bar, and an atmosphere drawn from the Japanese cocktail tradition. The aesthetic is precise without being cold, and the candle-warm lighting encourages exactly the kind of unhurried conversation that a well-made cocktail deserves. But the bartenders are the true heart of the place. On the evening of my visit, the two behind the bar moved with a remarkable synchrony -- finishing each other's thoughts, trading warmth and wit in equal measure, drawing guests effortlessly into the orbit of their easy rapport. It is the kind of hospitality that cannot be trained into existence; it is either present or it isn't, and here it is very much present. The cocktail menu is East Asian in its inspiration and genuinely inventive in its execution.
such a hidden gem and speakeasy in toronto!! we went on a late weekday so we did not have to fill a reservation, and instead was able to get seated right away at the bar area as we walked in. this place seems to specialize in asian flavoring, so drinks may taste umami on top of the sweetness and alcoholic taste of the drinks. i appreciate the art and tedious mixture of the drinks we had! this place was dimly lit and served the perfect vibe for me and my partner to chat, enjoy our beverages, and take cute pictures.
After Seven is one of the more creative cocktail bars in Toronto, hidden behind what appears to be a small dessert shop. We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.
A little "hidden" gem of a speakeasy. I remember when it was first announced and the concept of having something like this was glorified beyond belief. The cocktails and innovation behind them have not waiver Ed, but due to popular demand, the prices have since skyrocketed - I don't blame them as inflation has a key in it, but it's definitely not somewhere I would frequent as a result of the price hikes. The overall ambiance is chill. The service is usually great, but it did take a while to flag my server every now and then. All-in-all solid and unique cocktail experience
Super cool bar with a hidden entrance, definitely make sure to book in advance, as it tends to get quite busy even on weekdays. I'm not sure if they take walk ins actually. I wish I had taken more photos of the interior, but the space looks amazing, dark yet vibrant at the same time. The drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but they offer a great variety of unique and creative options. The staff was very friendly, and let us know how the bar works. They do a time limit but they always ask you if you need anything else during your last call.
Decent Japanese-inspired "speakeasy" bar behind a yogurt drink spot (putting "speakeasy" in quotes because you can technically see into the windows from the outside lol). You enter through Kome Yogurt. My boyfriend and I joined the waitlist at 7:50 PM on a Friday (you can join remotely) and were seated after about 30 mins. We tried the greenhouse, Black benne, Ghibli elixir, and Curry colada. Not the most incredible cocktails, but all were super tasty and the bar has a fun vibe.
Loveeee the drinks here. Would come here often if I lived closer. I like their fruity drinks and the ghibli elixir is a crowd favourite amongst my group. It's really cozy inside with a few small round tables, a small standing area and some bar seats. Must reserve if you want to come here. I recommend this place to all cocktail lovers!
A fun, Asian-inspired speakeasy! The inside of the establishment is dimly lit, with gold and green decor, and a chill ambiance. The bartender was super sweet, friendly, and helped my friend make a drink based off of the flavor profiles that she likes. Here, you scan a QR code to view the menu and order with a server; they have fun cocktails, classic drinks, and some small bites to enjoy. After much decision (as so many drinks seemed good), I decided to go with the matcha snickers, which combined barley shochu, dark chocolate, peanut butter, and matcha. It was delicious and a fairly strong drink (21% ABV). Would love to come back here to try some of their other cocktails!
Wow the cocktails here are uber delicious! I'm a big fan of speakeasies and this spot was a fun one to figure out how to get inside. I had a couple cocktails, including the Ginza Glow, and everything was unique and tasty. This is one of those places you wish you could just try every single drink. I've only been to a handful of bars in Toronto but I'd have to say this one was the best experience!
not only do their drinks taste DELICIOUS, the employees were also AMAZING!!! starting off with the atmosphere, it feels nice and sophisticated. it also is a very intimate speakeasy. the drinks are also sooo good! the left one is the (limited) kiwi crème glacée; although it has tomato and celery, you can barely even taste it because of how it is clarified. the kiwi flavor is really prominent as well. the right (short) drink is the ghibli elixir; it tastes like a melona ice cream bar with a kick of pandan at the end! lastly, the employees... literally some of the best employees ive ever encountered! i went on 6/12/25 around 11pm and the people working really cared for the customers, especially when i had lots of questions lol i didn't get their names so i can't specifically shout them out, but there was an asian girl and a tall white guy (who is the manager) who were so lovely... so shoutout to them (you know who you are!!!)
It's a small space but I very much enjoyed the ambience, drinks, feeling of a hidden speakeasy! If I lived nearby, I'd frequent the space for small hangouts. Having to use a secret password to use was exciting and made me a bit nervous to say and entering through a hidden door is always fun. For food and drinks, I'll start with the bad. The free mixed nuts is free for a reason; it was stale but I guess, something to much on while you drink and hang. I ordered the old boy which came with a cheese skirt cracker and both were delicious! They also have some non alcoholic options if you ask nicely but I do wish they had more NA selections. I would try everything on the menu if I could! "can I order a number 8?"
My favourite bar in Toronto right now. Quality is great and vibe is great. This bar is hidden behind Kome Yogurt Shop, their yogurt is really good btw, try them out when you have a chance. Order number 8 to get into the secret bar, however you need to make a reservation bc the inside is very small and there is a 2-hour seating limit. There is no food menu at this bar but they provide free bar nuts that are extremely addicting and pairs perfectly with their cocktails. The cocktails at this bar are all inspired by East Asian flavours and sooooo delicious. We tried 6 in total and we loved every one of them. You know it's a good cocktail when you can precisely taste all the flavours listed for that cocktail. Babylon Martini ($19) - lots of layers to the flavours of this martini. You can clearly taste the Jasmine in the jasmine infused Gin, the elderflower, as well as the scent of lemon Cloudy Oolong ($17) - has sea salt cheese foam on top of roasted oolong shochu, the same cheese foam you find on bubble teas however, this is how cheese foam is supposed to taste like...the bubble tea shops need to use this recipe. This is what cheese foam tastes like in Taiwan, but none of the bbt shops in Toronto makes it as legit as this place. Smoky Ume ($19) - I love the salty sweet plum flavour profile of this drink and I love how well it pairs with the smokiness of the mezcal. The salted plum rim was the cherry on top. Goma Colada ($20) - A sesame pina colada that is a recommended drink amongst many previous patrons. The sesame flavour is strong and fragrant and absolutely delicious. Flamango ($18) - Wow this drink was like eating an extremely fresh and ripe mango and the torched brule on top was such a delicious addition to the drink Burnt Yuzu ($21) - another extremely well-made drink with a smoky yuzu flavour. read more
Visited early on a Saturday (6:30 pm) and the place was already nearly full. Made reservations so we were seated at one of the tables along the window. Would love to sit at the bar one day and see how drinks are made. Reservations have a 2 hour limit. I only budgeted for 1 drink, so that was more than enough time. Had the cloudy oolong-- cloudy for the cheese foam on top, which tastes almost exactly like how a bbt would. Highly recommend it if you like cheese foam. Also, love the complimentary candied nuts you get as soon as you're seated, a great welcoming touch. FYI you might get ID'd on your way in from Kome, so have your stuff in order! read more

The seating is a bit crowded but the drinks are very unique - more expensive than you'd expect based on the price of their regular bubble tea. read more

This is my third time coming to this bar! This time I took my lady friends to the bar. One of the waitresses recognized me, so it was really nice to see her! We mentioned that it was one of my friend's birthday so they came to us with a cart and offered complementary prosecco. We tried their Matsui Whisky set first. The truffles really complemented each whisky. After our flight of whiskies, we tried their Yuzu Sour, Pandan Panda, and Goma Colada. Once again, their drinks are delicious. The ambiance is always great with low lights and music in the background. Overall, a great experience and my lady friends really enjoyed their first experience at After Seven! Can't wait to go to this place again! read more

Make sure to reserve your spot on opentable. Love the emerald green bar table - i will definitely hope to sit at the bar next visit. Asian infused cocktails and whiskey / sake flights available. Great and attentive service. I enjoyed my yuzu cocktail. They were celebrating and came to everyday with a shot of vodka with the chaser as caviar! What a nice surprise. I did notice the crowd was relatively younger though read more

Finally visited after reading many reviews and finding a time slot to accommodate my party. Great ambiance, love walking through the yogurt store into a secret entrance. I think their presentation for their cocktails was fantastic, but the execution of the drink itself was severely lacking. None of the 8 drinks ordered between 4 people blew us away or was something I couldn't make myself. The one negative thing about our visit was the immediacy of the servers to keep us moving. We were having a lovely time when the server rocks up to the table with the card machine in hand basically saying "pay now and leave" with a complete inability/refusal to split our bill between 2 couples. Really took the shine off our visit. Not sure when/if we'll return anytime soon, which is a shame because this place has a lot of potential. I might enjoy myself alot more if I order off their extensive whisky menu instead of their cocktails. read more
This place is a legend! We stumbled across this bar while looking for options in this area. The best way to get a table is through Open Table app - there is also a waitlist! We tried one of their most popular cocktails - Pandan Panda! They had limited beer options (Asahi) but shared that they're working on few beer cocktails. All cocktails are Japanese inspired and they have huge collection of whiskeys, gins and other liquors! I would definitely recommend you to try this place! read more
LOVE after seven! I've never had quite an experience like this but the mixologists are expert level and the drinks are exactly as described. Ambiance is intimate and its a speakeasy hidden inside a yogurt shop. How cool is that?! Reservations strongly advised as it can get packed. read more

This speakeasy is a neat little spot to hang out and grab a drink or two with some friends. The place is very intimate and not very loud, and the drinks menu is unique and intriguing. I ordered the Flamango, a rum-based cocktail, which has strong mango smell and taste, but just enough to give a balance mouthfeel. The brulé top is a nice little touch. The second drink ordered in the group was Cloudy Oolong, a shochu-based drink, that has sea salt cheese foam on top. I really like the cheese foam but the consistensy and strength of flavor clouds the actual taste of the cocktail a little. And the last drink was Vintage Melon, another rum-based cocktail, which I find to have the strongest alcohol taste of the three. The rum used here is stronger than that in the Flamango, but the taste was still great, it worked well with the wintermelon. We didn't expect the place to be crowded since it is wednesday night, but it was. Most people would make a reservation, especially in the weekend, but a walk-in on weekdays is still doable. read more

Drinks were yummy but very limited. Also wish there was some shareable foods available. The staff were super nice, attentive and helpful. read more
Hidden bar behind a bubble tea shop (Kome Yogurt). The entrance to the bar is hidden behind the ordering screen in the shop. We didn't have a reservation so we let the bubble tea shop staff know our party size and they told us it would be a 15 minute wait, they sent us a text when there was a table ready for us. The cocktails are Asian inspired. I found the presentation of the drinks we ordered were pretty. We also got complementary peanuts to snack on. Looking at the menu, there were only drinks to be served, it would have been nice to have snacks or desserts on the menu as well. Anyway, I ordered the Madame Seven which came served in a tea cup. It was quite bitter tasting, so I don't think I would get it again. The tables are also seated way too closely so I felt like we were drinking with some strangers. It wasn't the most comfortable experience lol. A cool experience to be in a hidden bar though. read more

Super interesting concept. In terms of speakeasy it's not the most discreet, but the drinks were fantastic, bartenders were super chill and explained everything. We were even served caviar and vodka (to cleanse the palate) on the house, which definitely added to the whole experience. read more

My favourite bar in Downtown Toronto! I was so surprised when I found out that this bar is hidden behind a bubble tea shop! The drinks were amazing and they are so unique!! I got Flamingo which is a mango alcoholic drink with a burnt foam (?) on top, it is not that strong in terms of alcohol and it goes down very easily! Other drinks are so good as well, they are all worth a try! I love the environment so much! It's so comfortable and it's so clean! I love the staff they are so nice and responsive!! read more

What an experience! The location, and creative drink menu is definitely a reason to come back. I tried the espressotini and it is by far one of the best Ive had in Toronto! It was smooth, and had a rich flavour brought to life with Kahula and Baileys. Amazing place you have to check out! read more
