We bought a metal fence to enclose our sidewalk and front door area. Fence was installed in a timely manner but you perennials do get trampled on. At least it was some not all. Frnced looked good for about a year to year and 1/2. We noticed that on one of the post two panels had slid down about 4 -5 inches. Emailed our rep and he said no problem it would be fixed. Well he showed up a few days later. Said oh i have wrong bit. Came back following week. This time was hitting the panels with a board to try to raise it up because he cant find right bit. Told him just have installer stop by in close to the store and it would only take them about 15-20 min. So he left ir trued to because he locked keys in truck. So had to call for help. Next thing u hear from him is well i can just come over and cut the top if the post or just live with it. No you not cutting post! It still slopes down‍. Told him not living with it have an installer fix the issue. That was 9/25/23. Was then told we will fix in spring when weather breaks. Yup you guessed it nothing! Customer service is terrible. I even went above this guy for help and no response from anyone! Also when i first contacted for repair we had just gone through another incident at my daughters house with this company and same salesperson. Daughters privacy gate broke so he cane and measured, got the style, ordered new hinges and handle Came the first time he couldnt get hinges off post. Have to come back with help Came back with help but he ordered wrong gate. Was to small and short. Left it and said would order new one Came with new one forgets new hinges and handle Comes back again and wow finally installed and he took back the wrong gate. Swear he was just hiding it because he cost company $$ which by the way he said he somehow has to sell it quickly So i would stay away from this company unless you want issue after issue. I truly believe they would rather sell to businesses, large corporations etc. our small yards, pathways etc are a waste of their time. read more

Contracted with them for a small privacy fence - they took 1/2 down as a down payment and then for 1.5 years I constantly reached out to them to obtain status update as to when they were going to install the fence. Had previously given a recommendation to a neighbor about them [before I knew what problems I would experience] and they went into contract with them 6 months after I had already contracted with them. They came and did my neighbors fence - terrible job - my neighbors had to have another company come and repair the fence that was falling apart in a matter of months. In the interim - I continued to get excuse after excuse about when they were going to install my fence. After 1.5 years - had to threaten legal action to get my down payment back. Years ago - this had been a reputable and responsible company. Would not recommend them whatsoever!!!! Buyer beware. read more

I hope I can let everyone know how terrible this place is, to save you the nightmare that our family went through. First let me say that we went with AFSCO even though their estimate was 13,000ish and the other estimates we received were 6000ish. We wanted good fences we would be proud of and we foolishly thought we were paying extra for good quality. Within two months of the installation, boards began popping off the fence all over the place. Apparently, they forgot to put in a second nail (the first nail is done at the shop). Additionally, posts are crooked and cracked. Some of the crosspieces on the fence do not even reach the posts! Also within a couple months after installation, our fences began to mold and rot. Clearly they were not treated correctly. The posts were treated correctly and the difference is clear. AFSCO says on their website that if you are not satisfied with the installation, they will come out and "make sure customers are 100% satisfied". Do not believe that! I contacted my salesman within 3 months of installation after noticing that our fence was falling apart. He claimed that he could do nothing about the rotting and moldy panels, because that was just my bad luck that I got bad panels from the manufacturer. He did admit that the installation was a disaster and promised to have a crew come out right away to repair it. It has been two years and they still have not come out! Here are some quotes from my salesman: 3/16/2021: Will touch base when we are getting closer. 5/6/2021: Not forgotten yet give me a bit longer to get out there as I am swamped. 8/16/2021: I am not sure what to tell your neighbor, yet mind his own business comes to mind, ha ha. In all honesty, it will more than likely be next month with all that I have going on here at the moment. 10/8/2021: I will get a crew scheduled at some point as was promised yet quite honestly am not sure as to when. 10/12/2021: I have everything documented and will put in on my installation list in the next few weeks and get it done once and for all. 1/20/2022: I will get a crew over to take care of things once and for all! We are running a skeleton crew this time of year yet will get it taken care of before we get busy again! 3/7/2022: I have the boards down here and will get you hooked up before we get cranked up. 5/16/2022: I will get a crew over the week of 5-30 if not sooner to get this completed for you. 6/28/2022: It will be done in the next week or so and will put and end to it. 7/15/2022: I will have it scheduled for you and my apologies for the continuing delay with getting it handled. AFSCO has terrible prices. AFSCO has terrible quality materials. AFSCO has terrible installation. AFSCO has terrible customer service. Deciding to go with AFSCO was my biggest mistake of the decade. We used this company about 20 years ago for a chain link fence around our property. At that time they did an excellent job. We called them again this year to put in new gates. Two 6' gates on one side and a 5' gate on the other. They did a terrible job. The workers and lead were not professional and fighting. They did not seem to have any training. The fence gate line was not straight and the gates would not latch. We called them back to correct the problem and they did not seem to know how to manage it. This work cost us 2600.00 and we now have to have someone in to correct it. If I can figure out how to post pictures - I can show you how bad they did. They did not put enough concrete in the posts - so they tip. I don't think they had any idea how to do the job. I will never use this company again. read more

HORRENDOUS COMPANY! They installed a fence for us on commercial property. While they were digging post holes, they proceeded to hit our septic line and fill it full of concrete. When I called and talked to Bruce, the owner, he proceeded to swear at me and I said "I am your customer" to which he replied, "I don't care." I will not be paying for any of the work and will be suing them for the amount of money it will cost to have the septic repaired. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!! read more

I found AFSCO through a flyer circulated in the mail. I read the reviews online and overall, they were neutral to negative. I am pretty easy going and figured "this won't happen to me." But I wish I trusted my gut and did not go with this company. From the moment I gave my deposit I did not hear from them. Excuse after excuse as to why they could not install the fence. Too hot, too much rain, higher than expected orders and they could not meet the demand; the list goes on. I was originally quoted 4 to 7 weeks for a fence installation. When I had not heard from them at the start of week 7, I reached out and was told it would be week 8 for an installation. Week 8 came and I followed up for the exact date, but I was told it was pushed back to week 9. Finally on week 9, they arrived. Next, the installation- it was a mess. They dug holes to put in the fence posts and dumped all the clay, dirt and excess cement in the back of my yard in about 5 different piles. Its extremely labor intensive to move and dispose of this type of waste on my own. I would be ashamed to be the owner, or work for this company. My fence was installed in August 2018 but I waited to write this review so other customers who got ready to contact AFSCO would see this prior to reaching out to them. AFSCO installed my fence in 2010. Over the years, some of the posts heaved during the winter months. I wasn't sure if the fence was repairable. I contacted AFSCO and, to my amazement, they were able to repair the fence. It looks awesome. Just like new. The sales representative, Chris Whitesell, is very professional and knowledgeable. He returned to install a new gate lock w/no labor charge. Excellent customer service. read more

I went in to Home Depot and asked to have a fence installed. I picked out the sections I liked and a "MyInstall" project was created for me to get them installed. The local contractor that Home Depot passed everything on to was AFSCO fence. I was told someone would contact me within the week to schedule the installation. After a week I called and left a message with AFSCO that was not returned. Over the next month I made several more calls, none returned. I finally contacted home depot who got a rep from AFSCO to e-mail me. The rep assured me that someone would contact me immediately. No one did. Over the next month I sent follow-up e-mails that were not returned. 2 months after going to Home Depot I ended up closing out the whole install project and going with a local fencing company (for a higher price of course, but at least they did the job). I can't comment on the quality of AFSCO's installation as they never performed it, but I absolutely cannot recommend a company that can go months without returning calls. read more

Very pleased w/ fence install, choices/services/product.....

This pertains to the Queensbury location, Pat specifically. Scheduled a second job with them. Left a message... for two months the call was not returned. Called again, spoke to Pat, scheduled an appt. Pat told me I would receive an email confirmation as well as an email with their brochure, Nothing was received. The day before the appt I called their office to cancel the appt. The day of the appt. while I was NOT at home Pat showed up. Pulled open a storm door that was latched and left an ACTIVE YARD brochure in the doorway. There was absolutely nothing on the brochure to indicate that is was from Afsco Fence, no business card, Afsco name or contact information. I recognized the fencing material from the Afsco website. When I called the office to ask why Pat stop at my house even though I cancelled the appt. and why he left a brochure with no identifying information he told me he never got the message or an email that the appt. was cancelled. He was nauseating rude and arrogant to me and not the least bit apologetic. Inexcusable way to do business. read more

After 3 estimates and theirs being the highest we decided to go with them only because they have been around for along time and we thought we were making a Good decision as our children and dog would be the ones playing in the back yard we wanted to make sure it was getting done right ... well first they said end of May/early June .. after we put down a cash deposit we didn't hear anything for weeks.. soo I called and naturally the response was next week and then that week came and went and we called again and the same thing happened .. so it was 2 weeks later and about 6 guys showed up and only got 1 small section of black chain link installed but of course poles and gates were in the wrong spots ( maybe because they were throwing a football around that they saw on the ground in my back yard ) 2 of the guys were swearing about how hard the hole was to dig. What they did install was all scratched up and did not even look new and let's not forget to mention the posts were not even straight( called and I was told they paint the fence so they will come and make it right ) oh and our privacy fence came from the factory broken so they had to order another piece ( which that was also another excuse they used 2 or 3 times to buy them more time) and with all the rain that's why they were behind but after we started getting angry suddenly they had 2 guys working In the pouring rain trying to get it done. Ooo and the guy had no work truck for 2 days then it was the weekend ... I could go on and on and on with all the bullshit they told us. The fence was finally done on July 23rd .. almost 2 months from original time given. DONT EVER GET A FENCE FROM THE PLACE!!!! It's a shit show !! read more

I had 360' of 5'tall black chain link fence installed about two years ago by afsco. I was at work while the fence was installed but noticed it was about 3-4" above the ground about 120' of the 360 that was installed. I contacted the salesman, he came out and looked at it and told me to disassemble the fence and pound the poles deeper into the ground and reassemble it myself. I told him I was willing to wait for the installers to have a free day but he said he didn't want to have them come out for this. This was a couple months after the install. It's been about 2 years now and today our fears were realized when one of our dogs got out under the fence. I just called him and told him again my issue and again he told me to disassemble the fence myself and pound the poles further into the ground and he'd sell me new ties for 10 cents a piece . I'm an able bodied guy but when you pay 4000+ dollars for something you expect quality and someone top stand behind their work. If I was old I'd have to hire someone at my expense to fix their work. If you do choose to use this company be sure you're home to watch the work and make sure it's to your liking because they will not be back to fix it! read more
