During a visit to Granada two years ago me and my girlfriend, both hip hop afficionados, by chance found out on an add about a hip hop party in town. After looking around in the small streets for a while, we did find the Afrodisia Club, and boy, there was a party going on! Really good hip hop music, not just the crap you will hear in the pop charts, prices for beer were absolutely okay. Funny thing was the mixed audience. A lot of (white) American students were partying their ass off, lots of spanish locals, many immigrants from Africa. All peaceful. We even saw a b-boy battle that resolved a minor conflict between a Spanish and an immigrant hip hop/b-boy crew. This was most definitely the best hip hop party I've ever been to. Great atmosphere in a nice club that's neither too big nor too small. Due to the little Spanish we were speaking communication wasn't esay, but we even got to know some of the locals and immigrants and hab (limited but) really nice conversations with them. That, plus the great selection of music, makes me recommend the Afrodisia to all hip hop headz visiting Granada. It will enrich your stay in the city with an experience fundamentally different from that of the Alhambra one showing you the subcultural life in a modern Spanish city. read more
