Passing thru town, So I decided to give this place another try. Plenty of parking outside. Location is somewhat ify, but don't let that hold you back. Walk thru the door and receive a warm welcome from the owner. The place wasn't busy at all and there was plenty of seating. There was Afro beat blasting from the corner and not much of a decor. A little too dark room for my liking. However, it looks clean and feel well kept. So I relaxed and ordered me-self White Rice and Beans and side of plantain. Spicy level is mild but can be tailored to your taste. Be sure to let the owner know. Ordering was easy from the menu and don't be afraid to ask questions and try something new. You never know what your new favorite might be. The Food came out in no time, about 15min and it was blazing hot and oozing with the aroma of different blend of spices and flavors. The white rice and beans came out just fine, meat was deliciously chewy and flavorful. The plantain was ripped enough and sweet, just the way you would expect. Food portion was filling and price was reasonable. This place has potential and does serve the community well for its location. It can use more fresher ingredients and daily prepared meal to keep the flavors more authentic. Keep the microwave out of the kitchen. Add more lighting to the dining area and open up the big window for more natural light. The outside entrance can be more inviting and welcoming. I suspect a lot customers only do takeout and not enough dine-in. I appreciate a small business like this that tries to offer that authentic west African cuisine we so much love, we need more of it. It does takes a lot of love to run an eatery like this, and I can sense it from the owner. But it will take more support from our own people to see this place succeed. If you are a true foodie, this place will definitely satisfy. I Will definitely be back for my favorites, and hope that you would too.

So I was pretty excited to have supper here. I'm not too sure, what difference it makes that is connected to the flying j truck stop? Do regular people think that truck stops are just full of filth? I mean some of them are, but this isn't one of them. It shouldn't really make a difference what a business is connected to, because it's an independent entity. I walked in in the late evening, place was super busy. Now I'm going to digress a bit, but with buffets the ABSOLUTE OPTIMAL TIME to go to a buffet is when it is busy and packed. The more people, the more food they cook, the more fresh food comes out. If you go into a buffet trying to avoid the crowd, you're not going to get the freshest food available, because they're not going to be cooking for 200 people, with only 15 in the restaurant, so keep that in mind. I think that's where some of these bad reviews come in. Anyhow, you pay up front and order your drink. The kid at the register was kind of strange, but that's just youngsters in the workforce these days. It didn't dawn on me until afterwards, but they ask you if you want cash back, and it's for the tip for the girl that gets your soda and cleans your plates. I went back after the fact and just had the nice kid put five bucks on my card and give me cash so I could give her some gratuity. While we're on the subject of her, she was super nice, kept my drinks full, kept my table cleared, and was constantly cleaning and sweeping the floor the entire time I was there. and AND we're interacting with literally all of the customers, which I found pretty impressive. She's obviously a local gal, and personally knew some of the patrons. That's huge for me, so maybe this is a five star review. I noticed a couple other girls constantly cleaning and sweeping also. I didn't order any custom grilled steaks, or anything like that, but I did manage to cover probably at least 80% of the buffet itself. Everything from salads, to soups, to dumplings, to dessert, to the rest of the food. Did I absolutely love every single thing I got? Not particularly. But in an overall general sense everything was absolutely great. The place was packed, which means they were constantly bringing out fresh trays of food. Probably everything that I got, was hot and fresh. The only thing that look like it was sitting there for a good while was the chili, but then again, who actually eats chili? Gross. I guess the decorum is your typical golden corral. Like I said I haven't been in one in over 20 years, but they had typical signage, a ton of tables, which were mostly taken, I actually had to seek a table out in the back because they were so busy but they were also playing country music which was nice. I am a super foodie, I've owned a bar and grill, and I cook a lot of food and smoke a lot of meat when I'm home, so don't listen to these other reviews. Just keep in mind that it's important that you go when it's busiest, that's when you'll get the best experience, and the freshest food. Tah tah for now my little festerlings!! The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.
