Passing thru town, So I decided to give this place another try. Plenty of parking outside. Location is somewhat ify, but don't let that hold you back. Walk thru the door and receive a warm welcome from the owner. The place wasn't busy at all and there was plenty of seating. There was Afro beat blasting from the corner and not much of a decor. A little too dark room for my liking. However, it looks clean and feel well kept. So I relaxed and ordered me-self White Rice and Beans and side of plantain. Spicy level is mild but can be tailored to your taste. Be sure to let the owner know. Ordering was easy from the menu and don't be afraid to ask questions and try something new. You never know what your new favorite might be. The Food came out in no time, about 15min and it was blazing hot and oozing with the aroma of different blend of spices and flavors. The white rice and beans came out just fine, meat was deliciously chewy and flavorful. The plantain was ripped enough and sweet, just the way you would expect. Food portion was filling and price was reasonable. This place has potential and does serve the community well for its location. It can use more fresher ingredients and daily prepared meal to keep the flavors more authentic. Keep the microwave out of the kitchen. Add more lighting to the dining area and open up the big window for more natural light. The outside entrance can be more inviting and welcoming. I suspect a lot customers only do takeout and not enough dine-in. I appreciate a small business like this that tries to offer that authentic west African cuisine we so much love, we need more of it. It does takes a lot of love to run an eatery like this, and I can sense it from the owner. But it will take more support from our own people to see this place succeed. If you are a true foodie, this place will definitely satisfy. I Will definitely be back for my favorites, and hope that you would too.

When I was a kid there was famous tourist stop on the way to Tahoe from the Bay Area called the Nut…read moreTree. It was basically a restaurant with a huge gift shop, a toy store and restaurant that was so popular you'd have to wait an hour to get in. As a kid I loved it and I've develped a fondness for these touristy restaurants. Not tourist traps because those are usually overpriced and not good. Millers Falls into that category for me. It's a gigantic restaurant with several adjacent stores and lots of branded items. But the attraction of course is the smorgasbord. Yes, that's essentially a buffet if you're reading this from one of my home towns on the west coast or Southwest. The place is huge and you'd think it might be slow to get or confusing but it's extremely well run. There are multiple stations such as Salads, Local Favorites, Appetizers and the ubiquitous carving station. I'd say stay away from the carving station; the roast beef was dried and a little tough. But everything else was great and very fresh. Some highlights included brown butter noodles, chicken pot pie (sortof a dumpling) Cabbage bake and ham balls. All the regional PA specialties are really delicious. The pickled eggs, pickled beats and spicy gardinera were yummy too. A gooey oatmeal pie was a delightful and delicious desert, but there were dozens of deserts to choose from as well. The wait staff were friendly and super efficient. If you're visiting the Lancaster area it's well worth the visit.

The service was excellent except for one thing that ultimately annoyed the heck out of me. Having…read morenever attended one of these buffets, I wasn't aware of all the idiosyncrasies connected with participation. When we sat down we were immediately approached by a very pleasant smiling server. Her first question was whether or not we had ever frequented Miller's before? We said that this was our first time. Question #2 -What can I get you to drink? She then rattled off all kinds of soft drinks. We asked for a raspberry tea and an unsweetened tea. She kept our glasses full throughout our lunch. I was surprised to see a charge of $3.99 per drink added to our bill. Now I don't consider myself cheap. BUT, please say "would you care to order some beverages? Since this is your first time drinks are not included" The food was possibly a step above a college cafeteria. When i asked one of the food attendants "where's the beef"? he replied only on weekends. If you like pork and ham you're in good hands- they had what looked like a compressed turkey breast as well. The potato soup was very good and the fried chicken acceptable. So i was looking forward to the desserts. I love cherry pie so i took a piece and a piece of yellow cake with chocolate frosting.. You have to understand they cut 10-12 pieces out of a pie, small servings. After one bite of each as i pushed them both aside my wife had a stunned look. Knowing they are my favorites she was shocked i wasn't eating them. They were absolutely not worth the calories. BTW the coffee was lukewarm and the cup size was 4oz. at best. I'm glad i got the Amish Country buffet out of my system and hope I saved you a trip and the $80+ we paid with the tip.

We finally tried the Borgata Buffet and honestly I do not understand some of the bad reviews…read more Yes it is a casino buffet so the price is higher at around 43 per person, but there are definitely ways to get it comped or discounted, and for the quality you are getting it actually feels worth it. The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.

The carving station had a salmon larger than I've ever seen too. Also appreciate that they offer a spiced version of the cocktail shrimp. Meats - prime rib was very dry and overcooked but the grilled steak has really great taste Everything else is pretty standard for a buffet. Huge compliments on all of the sauces they offer to go along with your food (steak sauce, au jus, melted butter, etc.).

It's a good buffet. The sushi section is mostly vegetables and some with cream cheese, but there's plenty of wasabi and regular and low-salt soy sauce available. Decent sushi, really. In general, the entrees are what you would expect from Chinese buffet, although I will say the fried shrimp and fried chicken were quite good. They had a big pile of blue crabs - they didn't have any Old Bay or other seasoning and the crab itself didn't have much flavor. Sadly, it's the crab that should set this buffet (located in a beach community) apart from Chinese buffet elsewhere. But honestly the crabs just weren't very tasty. For dessert, there are a variety of cookies, cakes and small containers of ice cream that were frozen like blocks. I'm sounding negative, but it's Chinese buffet and it's decent. It's also $15.95 which is a good price for a decent Chinese buffet. I doubt I'll come back because I have decent Chinese buffet available to me in other places. The service was ok. I'd give them a 3.5 if I could, but I can't justify a 4. So, it's a 3.
