If you go into a buffet trying to avoid the crowd, you're not going to get the freshest food available, because they're not going to be cooking for 200 people, with only 15 in the restaurant, so keep that in mind. I think that's where some of these bad reviews come in. Anyhow, you pay up front and order your drink. The kid at the register was kind of strange, but that's just youngsters in the workforce these days. It didn't dawn on me until afterwards, but they ask you if you want cash back, and it's for the tip for the girl that gets your soda and cleans your plates. I went back after the fact and just had the nice kid put five bucks on my card and give me cash so I could give her some gratuity. I guess the decorum is your typical golden corral. Like I said I haven't been in one in over 20 years, but they had typical signage, a ton of tables, which were mostly taken, I actually had to seek a table out in the back because they were so busy but they were also playing country music which was nice. I am a super foodie, I've owned a bar and grill, and I cook a lot of food and smoke a lot of meat when I'm home, so don't listen to these other reviews. The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic.
