Dr. Eginton is a talented surgeon and a very kind person. She set clear expectations pre-surgery about the risks/recovery period & was quick to respond when I had post-op questions/concerns. She went over all the discharge instructions line by line and even took the time (after a long day) to walk Lucy out & provide guidance how to safely lift her into my SUV. Lucy's incision has since healed (she initially wore a cone and then surgical recovery suit 14 days), her skin color has normalized, and appetite returned. She's a happy girl! Thank you Dr. Eginton and Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard Team!

In both cases, we (coincidentally) received care from Dr. Hammett, who was an incredibly kind, compassionate, and thorough doctor. I cannot thank Dr. Hammett enough for his gentle care. In both cases, humane euthanasia were the ultimate decisions and Dr. Hammett was so supportive. I can't thank him and this group enough for their incredible diagnostics, care, and gentle and respectful communication. I live out of state, so finding a practice so compassionate in an emergency situation was unexpected, but truly made all of the difference.

BEWARE - Ongoing issues with office management and prescription handling…read more I have been a client at this practice for approximately 14 years, and unfortunately, my experiences with the office manager (female, shoulder-length brown hair, glasses) have consistently been negative. Her attitude and demeanor toward clients have been unprofessional for as long as I have been coming here, and I am confident many long-term clients will recognize exactly who I am referring to. Recently, these issues escalated in a way that directly affected my dog's pain management. I was only given a one-week supply of my dog's pain medication, and it then took an additional three business days just to obtain the printed prescriptions. One of my dog's medications was switched from liquid to pill form due to the office stating they were "out" of the liquid. The pill is extremely small and must now be cut into four pieces, which is impractical and increases the risk of inaccurate dosing. As a result of poor communication and delays, my dog is now without pain medication. The office was unexpectedly closed on a Saturday when they are normally open. I called at 7:00 a.m. the day prior to request a refill of gabapentin. I then received a call after the office had already closed, stating that they "needed more information" to fill the prescription--despite the fact that the same prescription had been filled just one week earlier, with only a one-week supply provided. No explanation was given for what additional information was needed. This pattern feels less like an isolated mistake and more like ongoing control over access to necessary medications, with no regard for the impact on pets or their owners. Additionally, the pricing is excessive. For example, I was charged approximately $40 for 30 gabapentin pills, while the same medication can be obtained through Chewy for about $9.60 for 120 pills. Based on my long history here and these recent events, I strongly caution pet owners. Prescription access is unreliable, communication is poor, medications are delayed or restricted without clear justification, and costs are unreasonably high. When it comes to your pet's comfort and pain management, these issues are unacceptable.

I feel this clinic would be a good choice for most (normal vet) situations. However, for my needs,…read moreit was inefficient and turned out to be condemning, harassing, and unprofessional in the end. I was left shocked, in emotional distress, and unable to attend a very special church Christmas play that evening due to threatening comments by a tech there named Caprisha Thompson, saying "I will call the police myself if you do that," which was not her place to say (at all,) and given the lack of knowledge she had concerning our dangerous situation at home with my dog and regarding injuries she already caused. Their concern was only for my elderly dog, and I felt was completely inhumane towards the elderly lady I care for. There comes a time when HUMAN life has to be prioritized and protected above an animal's, and I am convinced you will not find this rationale here. Even after showing video of blood all over my house, personal injury I keeping incurring, even records with animal control when I was ticketed for having a "vicious animal." I fought two years to protect my dog, keep her, train her better, and I (still) love her very much. Unfortunately, she has become unsafe and a liability. I do not feel comfortable even re-homing her at this point because I value the lives and safety of PEOPLE, human beings first and know my poor aging dog has become a danger to other dogs and to people of all ages. I have had to keep her separated constantly from people and animals but this is not possible nor safe anymore. After much prayer and finally being at peace about it, the decision was made to go to Eau Gallie Animal Hospital after discussing a euthanasia option and scheduling an appt. for yesterday, Dec. 3rd, right before our church Christmas play so we could all keep our spirits up and keep our positive thoughts and memories alive of our beloved pet. We had said our goodbyes, taken pics with her. It was time to go to her appt. and finish this journey on a good note, before something really serious happens due to her dangerous behaviors. I was "led to believe" over the phone this facility could/would help in this difficult and sad situation, especially as my dog is getting older and more unpredictable. Instead, the whole situation was turned against me, The Vet. (Dr. Beth Bahr) very sweet but came in all teary eyed and said I do not feel comfortable doing this, and hinting what I was saying was untrue (?) IDK because she said "I changed my story" which was odd, and accusing, and not true. I left some reasons out and was trying NOT to say everything due to potential legal ramifications and too much unnecessary exposure of how my pet has been dangerous to keep for quite awhile. I have protected her, loved her, kept her away from others, and even paid to get her certified as my emotional support pet because she made me feel safe, I suffer from PTDS. But things change, situations change. Now too many others are at risk because of my pet and I cannot/should not keep hiding that! When someone almost bleeds to death IN YOUR HOME over Thanksgiving because of your dog, you have to reconsider if it is even legal for me to harbor a dangerous, though beloved, pet! I should not have to give all this detail to say my peace and validate my reasoning. This is quite cruel, but necessary to speak out so others do not pick the wrong clinic expecting to get help and understanding without exhaustive explanation. So yesterday was quite traumatic, not only to be not believed in the office (when yes I have tons of proof, just did not know I would need to bring it with me!) It was hard enough to realize she would need to be euthanized without having to relive past bad and scary things she had done. Our family really wanted to part on a positive note. Finally, I was told by the tech "We don't euthanize for convenience." WTH?!? The Vet then said, "Based on my findings I cannot in my heart do this...." as she goes home to her cute little family, providing a SAFE environment as expected. Of course she would not take my dangerous dog into her home I can promise you that!! So I am given no choices in the matter, and even guilt tripped for seeking help in the first place. They "informed me" they already let the police and animal control know (and why the need for that threat too?) Also, the tech overheard me on the phone saying I don't know what to do now. The play starts in an hour, I have to keep an elderly lady safe in my home, and they are making me bring my dog back home. I said on the phone, "I guess we could put her in the closet while we are at the Christmas play for tonight so everyone is safe." Mind you, this closet is actually a beautiful large room the size of a bedroom, with a lovely picture window, a clean, nice safe place for a dog to stay for a few hours, complete with a food & water bowl, and a huge cushy dog bed of course. But the tech, Caprisha Thompson, became very unprofessional and even condescending towards the end saying "And
