A few weeks ago, we selected Live Aloha to remove and install three trees on our investment…read moreproperty in St. Augustine. We are disappointed how things turned out. While the trees appear to still be alive and doing satisfactorily, an aspect of the installation did not go as planned. After they work was done, Live Aloha was tasked to make sure that the automatic sprinkler system was properly set. This appears to not have happened. Shortly after installation, we began to get complaints from the HOA that the system was watering multiple times a day and far more times per week than allowed by local statute. It seems that the neighbors were complaining to the HOA about this. We sent our property manager to the location and she confirmed the complaints and the situation with the HOA. Without altering the settings, our property manager was instructed to turn off the system which she did. We then hired an irrigation company to assess the situation without telling them of any prior work. Independently they confirmed that the system had been set improperly both in number of days per week and times per day. We then contacted the neighbors and HOA ourselves and heard multiple reports confirming the situation, indeed, the system had been running far more than needed, so much so that the bill went from about $49 the prior month to approximately $1285! We approached Live Aloha only to be told that they had set the system properly and it must be something else. So far our property manager, the independent contractor and the neighbors' observations contradict that. We have retained a local attorney who is drafting our small claims complaint and is advising us. We encourage Live Aloha to review its response to us. Merced Conference Center
