I will update review based on Evan's feedback:…read more Fair point by Evan maybe the stump grinding was a miscommunication during discussion. I will assume some responsibility as the customer and increase the stars rating because this was a verbal quote and we should have asked for written documentation before the job started. Additionally, not sure about any "trade" or free service rendered in exchange for not putting the fence back because of vines. When I reached out no one said oh there was an agreement or we spoke to your wife and informed her we weren't putting that back. We were just told someone will be out there to fix it. i was never notified of a check issue or that there was an issue with any payment. I never heard anything actually so I can only assume you were fully paid there wasn't an issue. Also my wife was told she could pay by card during the quote (which was the plan) but at the end was then told no she must pay by check so she had to scramble to find checks. In the end: We did get three large trees cut down as asked. You will get the service you paid for, trees cut down and removed. I would just ensure any quote is written and documented so there aren't any miscommunications in what is expected at the end of the job. That becomes text back and forth and phone calls after they leave the job site. Communication-Communication-Communication would seem to be the largest issue here.

Encountered company via door to door solicitation. Asked if they could look at the trunk in my…read moreback yard that was left by the last company who I hired to take a tree down. After saying they knew that company well and offered to take the eyesore down for a very reasonable price, I agreed. Note that I was told that the concrete slab in the yard could be broken up and removed if I wanted. If not, he said that the possibility of it getting cracked was high. The crew came out and hour after a rain storm came through and it was still drizzling so ground was wet. 4 trucks, two debris trailers (one already full), and a trailer with a kabota skiff. They drove the skid thru my front yard to get to the back gate instead of driving on the street or sidewalk. They drove about the backyard a number of times before deciding to lay down plywood. They put cuts in the lower portion of the trunk, wrapped two ropes around the top. One tied to the skiff and one tied to the front of a truck parked in my driveway. They pulled and the entire trunk came down. Mind you, it's 30' in diameter and was probably just as high if not higher. It towered above the houses. After they the cut it into pieces and took them to the trailers, they started to pack up to leave. I asked about all the debris in the back, they planned to leave it. I have a contract stating all debris was to be removed so they then grabbed rakes. I provided shovels, trash can and a wheel barrel to use. After they cleaned up the debris is when I saw that where the trunk hit the concrete not only caused cracks, but two deep indentions and wholes. Basically the slab is destroyed. The entire crew, including the owner Evan, are what I would consider a bunch of wild yahoos. They only care about getting in and getting out and not what damage they cause by not taking more care in the work. I can say that I would not recommend or would use this company ever again.

Lawn Doctor does quality work and very responsive in keeping the lawn in good shape. I trust Lawn…read moreDoctor because the owner takes a vested interest in this business and customers like me by providing a personal touch of meeting and greeting and showing up periodically to see how things are going. Two prior well known lawn service competitors have damaged my entire lawn and created a lot of extra cost to me to remove and replace the sod. On more positive Lawn Doctor notes is that the website is very user friendly and as a veteran given a nice discount. Other ways Lawn Doctor is so beneficial and saves me time and money is that if I had to purchase the chemicals, apply the chemicals, and water the grass it would cost me twice as much. Also, one time a long time ago when I was doing this myself didn't apply the chemicals correctly and burned the yard. If I request for something from Lawn Doctor in between lawn treatments, they are very responsive, and come out the next day! And the best part of all is that people actually answer the phones and care! I get email reminders of when Lawn Doctor is coming out and after treatment a diagnosis of the lawn and things to do and look for. Give Lawn Doctor a call as you'll be glad you did and have peace of mind your Lawn is in good hands and a Green Thumb which is their logo!

I had several companies come out and give me an estimate for my live oak tree that was damaged by…read morethe terrible wind storm we had. I have what's called included bark where two trucks have grown together and split apart from each other. After doing some research this job shouldn't cost more than it does to cut the tree down. Involves cleaning up the canopy of dead branches or sucker branches to allow more airflow through and then cabling about 3 trunks together to prevent them from swaying in the wind. The first estimate only wanted to cut my tree down which is not what I wanted. I want to save the tree. He quoted $3100 to completely remove the tree. The next two quotes to cable and rod the tree was $4500 and $4000. Again they wanted more to do this than to actually cut the tree down. Which my first estimate to cut the tree down was my baseline price. My son-in-law recommended Mitch Drake so I gave them a call and he quoted me $2500 to complete the job. Now we're finally below that baseline of $3100 I was looking for. He told me during the estimate they were several weeks out from doing the job. Finally I got a call they were coming on a specific day which was acceptable. Talking about a crew, there was about eight of them on the job. Between trimmers, clean up crew as the limbs dropped and another that climbed the tree and another that cabled the tree. They have a lot of equipment with them between a bucket lift, Bobtail, and a massive chipper with a high box truck that captured all the wood chips. Very impressive operation. They recommend several limbs to be removed to take some weight off to prevent further splitting. They cleaned up everything when the job was done. Very very satisfied with their work.
