We had a 12' X 20' shed built by Affordable Sheds and couldn't be more pleased with the result. Doug worked with us throughout the process and he is a total professional! We had some scheduling issues, totally because of torrential rainy weather, but Doug quickly rescheduled us for a few days later. Finally the sun came out! Bruce actually built the shed. And, this is one hard working guy! Over a two-day period he roughed out, put siding up, painted, and even did the roofing ... all by himself. When he finished the area surrounding the shed was spotless: no butt ends thrown in the woods, no nails or trash left behind, etc. Great work ethic! Fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though we were a bit outside his usual area, Doug came out in person to give us an estimate. He made a couple suggestions that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves in terms of size, options, and siting. He didn't try to sell us unnecessary upgrades, and in fact told us that we should go with a different, less expensive design than we had originally planned on. Quality people, quality work, and quality price. Very pleased with Affordable sheds and highly recommend them. I've built three sheds, metal, and two vinyl. Will never do vinyl again, due to heat expansion and inevitable cracking. I was planning to purchase a wood kit at Lowes, and thank goodness I read their reviews first. Poor engineering, bowed wood, and subsequent high costs to make it right, not to mention the challenges in building it. So, I visited Affordable Sheds and talked with Doug, who was very courteous and professional. He gave a quick tour on one of their demo models, going through the workmanship and materials. I knew right then, this was the place. Just like many other favorable reviews, Doug came out to my house and provided valuable guidance on getting the site ready for shed construction. His construction experts did an outstanding job and it only took two days. My shed is 10x16, with a single door, a double door, and a single window. They matched the shingles on my house. I had a pressure treated plywood floor installed and the metal floor guards on the door openings to protect the plywood floor from being damaged by moving in/out riding lawnmower and other equipment. Highly recommend both. The door hinges are strong and go the full length of the door. Doug said the shed is warrantied for five years as is. I took his advice and went the extra step and painted the outside of shed and even painted the inside of the shed with leftover paint. Took a day to paint the outside (masking, brush, and roller) and I used my Wagner Power Paint Gun for the inside (more pain than pleasure, and not really necessary, but I wanted to use up leftover paint). After the shed was completed, I spent and extra $500 on materials that included: aluminum gutters/downspouts/gutter guards; pressure treated wood and high quality wood screws for building the two door ramps; vinyl lattice with stapled qtr inch chicken wire behind; and 2gal of exterior paint, all bought at Lowes. I used leftover Behrs (the best!) Cedar Wood Stain for the ramps and put 4inch wide strips of 3M 80 grit tape on the door ramp...don't go cheap on the tape. Cutting/installing the vinyl lattice and chicken wire wasn't easy, as I had to measure and match the slope of the ground, but it looks awesome and will keep out critters from making homes underneath the shed. I know this shed will far out last the vinyl sheds as the quality of materials was top notch and workmanship by the Affordable Sheds crew was superb. read more

Doug came out did a site survey and helped us think through the best location for a shed. We decided to place it on the side of the house to preserve backyard space. I have attached a picture of our shed and it provides us about 64 sq feet of storage space, almost as much as an 8 x 8 shed. The vinyl siding of the shed nearly matches the house, so from the street it looks like part of the house. In researching, we learned also that not all sheds are built alike. Once you get over the sticker shock of having a custom shed installed professionally then i'd highly recommend talking to Doug at Affordable Sheds. My shed needed to be placed where there is a hugh incline, but the crew did a great job and for a price better than I'd recieved from 3 other places. Doug was the first one to respond and actually do a site review and spent time with us going over the available packages and options. Another who came to do a bid spent less than 20 minutes and most of that was writing up an order. After our initial meting with Doug at his office, he personally met me at my house to discuss best options for shed size and placement. After determining the size and shape of our custom shed we put up a deposit and scheduled our build. Doug and his builders showed up on time, built exactly what we ordered and cleaned up everything before they left. After we determined that we were not happy with the amount of space showing between the bottom of the shed and the ground, Doug and one of his builders came back and added trim to the bottom of our shed resolving our issue. We hired another company to level and gravel the shed site but their inefficiency caused a 1/2 day delay on the day of our shed installation.
