On june 4th of 2025 i called larry with affordable septic and that was where the mistake started. Larry came out and found the first tank and started pumping it and whinned the whole time about how bad it was. He pumped it out about half way and said the leach field is full of grease and poop and stop pumping out the tank to do what he called jetting out the leach field but all he did was vacuum them out. He pumped all the water out of the leach field and started putting up his hoses and i ask him if he was going to finish pumping out the tank. He said he would come back in a week. Two weeks later I called him and told him the leach field was filled up again. He came out in about an hour and took the cover off and said ur going to have to replace the leach field lines and ur need to do it without a permit because if u get a permit they are going to make u put in an aerobic system no ? Asked. So he texted me back a price of 14,950.00 and I could take off the4,800.00 he charge for vacuuming out the leach field and part of the first tank. I text him back and told him he needed to come back and do the job he was paid to do and that was to jett it out not vacuum it out. His response was u dont think what i did was better than jetting it out. I told him well it didnt work and that the last thing he text. I called an honest septic tank pumper and he came out and started pumping out the tank and then started probing around and found the lid to the second tank and opened it and pulled out the filter that stops grease and poop from getting in the leach field that larry charged 4800.00 to pump out. They pumped out the second tank and washed out the filter. They put the covers back on and charged 495.00 like they said they would. I texted larry and ask him to return my money because he robbed me because there was nothing in the leach field because it was filtered. I found a toilet running that was reason for the leach fill being full. So if u have septic problems stay away from larry thompson with affordable septic. We were told only 2 options, water jetting for $5,700 or $25,000 for a new septic system. We went with the water jetting not knowing that is an outrageous charge. We feel we were totally taken advantage of. I did not want to accuse this company of deceptive practices so I did research and I found that water jetting, no matter the scenario, should NOT cost over $2,500 and that is the high end. I just finished reading all the reviews for "Affordable " Septic. Larry is not affordable and not honest. I was charged $775.00 for him to force water through the 15' septic pipe to unblock it. He was there maybe 20 minutes, used my hose and the pressure in my system. All he provided was a device that screwed on to the end of my hose to keep water from backing up into my house. I'm in the process of legal action. His company should not be allowed to practice overcharging and get away with it. read more

My tank is pumped, but I was charged about $900. That's about twice the price of a reputable company. There was a 5% credit card fee and a $125 digging charge (in this case, about five minutes of scraping 3 inches of soil). Let's not forget the $200 for extra special enzymes (repackaged Rix-X?) that can only be purchased from him. I was told the consequences of not buying this product were dire; system failure, thousands of dollars of repairs, etc. He's good - living large on Nanas' social security check! read more

Do not walk away from this company, run. I had my septic tank pumped by Larry and he charged me $550. My house is about 18 years old and this was the first pumping. I assisted Larry and actually tipped him feeling empathy about is alleged medical issues. Within two weeks the tank was full again and I asked Larry to come look at the problem. He showed up, tried a 10 minute fix and charged me $400 for the visit with the understanding that the service fee would be credited to the repair cost. I asked him specifically if he was licensed for septic repair. He assured me he was, and would call me in the evening to confirm the repair. I never heard a word from him. The next day I tried calling him numerous times with no answer other than a voice mail message, telling me to have a blessed day. I then called him from my girlfriend's phone and he answered immediately. When I told him who I was he hung up. It is my belief that this guy has no license for septic repair and possibly not for septic pumping. And to top it all, he did not pump both chambers of the septic tank. My Elderly Mother was taken advantage of this weekend. My mother hired Larry from Affordable Septic, to come and clean out her septic tank. Did he pump out the tank - yes Did he do the cleaning associated with pumping out the tank - NO When my mother asked him if he was going to do the same cleaning he had done the year before, he told her you can just go buy a tool to put on the end of the hose and have another person do it. (Keep in mind, my mother hired and paid Larry in full to do this job.) After she continued to ask him questions about what he had done and if he was going to finish the job, Larry told my mother he would come back later that day (Friday) and do what was needed to complete the job. HE DID NOT SHOW UP. When my mom called Larry the next day he said he got busy and wasn't able to make it back the previous day (Friday) but he would be out later today (Saturday). HE DID NOT SHOW UP. When I called and asked why he did not come out, Larry told me my mother could go buy a tool at Home Depot and have someone else do it. I told him but she has paid you to do the job. When I asked Larry if he was going to come and finish the job he replied "I did what I was supposed to do." I asked him why he thought it was ok to take advantage of the elderly he told me "Well tell her not to call me again"! He then hung up the phone. She paid for a job that was not completed. My mother is 87 and is on a fixed income and does not have the luxury of hiring multiple people to complete a job she has already paid for. Beware of Affordable Septic in Bastrop Co TX. They May come and suck some of the water out of your septic tank. They also drain your Bank. HE didn't give me a senior discount. I am a senior. The mess he left, was much worse than I ever immagined. He told me if I called anyone to come look at this, they would call the county inspectors for septic and leach fields and I would be slapped with $10,000, to fix the problem. I immediately called the county developement office to discuss my situation. They were the people who gave the permit and inspected the septic and leach field when it was put in. I got the scoop on this problem. If you don't have any problems with smell and water in your yard. It is ok. if you have those problems you have to soolve the problem. I found out what to do.
