We got a couple of estimates and Earl Johnston was in the middle. I liked the warranty that the manufacturer offered and having used them in the past made it an easy decision. They have a pamphlet you can look at to select the color of shingles that you would like, in addition to giving you some addresses where they've installed the color so that you can see the color on a house to get a better idea of what it would look like. There was a long delay before the new roof was installed, through no fault of Earl Johnston. The delay was with the city approving the permit. Once the permit was approved, everything went quickly and the new roof was installed within the week. They had a demo crew & installation crew who were good about keeping you informed of what they were going to do. They took TONS of pictures during demo showing you how the tar paper was placed and rotten wood that was being replaced. They covered the lawn with some type of covering so that pretty much all of the debris fell on that rather than all over my mother's yard. They even cleaned up after themselves after the job was done! I'm glad that I don't have to worry about my mother having another roof leak and am very happy with the work that was done.

They were professional, efficient, and extremely reasonable with their pricing. Alex was the one who helped me, and I truly appreciated how thorough and knowledgeable he was. He took the time to explain the condition of my roof in detail and walked me through the best possible solutions--without any pressure. I felt confident in the decisions I was making thanks to his transparency and expertise. The supervisor came to give me a quote, assessed everything quickly and professionally and gave me an ok price. On the day of the repair, he brought 3 other people (none of which he knew a name of and none of which spoke a word of English). They were done in than half a day. After my inspection I pointed out about a dozen of badly cut tiles and a slight mess they've left on the roof. He promptly scheduled a follow up, brought one guy and spent another half a day fixing everything to my full satisfaction. Overall, I would have loved to get it done correctly the first time, but ultimately the job was well done without many headaches.

Koby was my direct contact, and I have to say, I am yet to meet a more professional contractor in my life. Koby's communication and attention to quality was amazing both before and after the "sale". I didn't think a hassle free, high quality roofing job was possible, but that's what Koby delivered! He made permitting and inspection happen so smoothly, and even shared videos of the roof getting done, explaining how he was taking care of quality control during the process. I would be happy to recommend Koby / Affordable Contractors to anyone without reservation. A customer for life!

I would strongly advise against doing business with this company…read more From the beginning, there was a complete lack of accountability in delivering what was clearly outlined in our contract. The work itself was unacceptable -- the stucco finishing was so poorly done that we had to hire another company to fix and complete it. We were also explicitly told that our recently installed gutter guards would be carefully removed and saved. Instead, they were thrown out, and the company refused to take any responsibility or replace them. Now, six months after the project was completed, we are dealing with water leaks caused by a faulty roof replacement. Rather than honoring their warranty and addressing the issue, the owner continues to delay by repeatedly asking for photos and proof -- despite already sending people to inspect the problem in person. Communication throughout the process was extremely frustrating. The owner, Eugene, consistently relied on inaccurate information from his workers instead of listening to us directly, which led to constant disputes and unnecessary stress. It became clear he had no intention of being personally involved or resolving the issues. Overall, this experience has been costly, time-consuming, and incredibly disappointing. Between the broken promises, poor workmanship, and lack of follow-through, I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances. Eugene refused to own up to anything in our original contract, and after poor work, turned this entire experience into a problem that costed us another 10K.
