I visited this place today for the first time and I have to say hands down they were truly wonderful. I brought my dog Coco in for exam shots heartworm test and a month supply of her meds and it was so affordable! Not to mention everyone in there was so nice and they worked as a team. They were so knowledgeable about animals I have never had anyone explain so much to me. They made us feel like we were family. I will never go anywhere else!

My first thought was to get him off of chicken so was feeding him lamb and rabbit (he didn't care for and it didn't help). The clinic docs we were taking him to for numerous visits over the span of many months tried several medications, including steroid medications and shots which brought on a bad respiratory infection and a severe eye infection. But we were told it was not food-related and referred to a feline dermatologist. Instead, we switched to Buttercup Veterinary Hospital and saw Dr. Jensen. She examined him, immediately said it was food-related, and prescribed a hydrolyzed protein food. It's been 3 weeks and he is doing amazingly well! His sores are healed up and his fur is back! She also found a heart irregularity and is addressing that also.

It seemed like there was always another test, treatment, or add-on being pushed, even for routine appointments. I understand recommendations are part of veterinary care, but the constant pressure made the experience uncomfortable and expensive. Overall, I wouldn't personally recommend Buttercup Veterinary Hospital based on my experience. We've raised German Shepherds for years, so we're very familiar with the breed and common skin and allergy issues. My son's GSD is currently visiting, and I stopped by Buttercup Veterinary Hospital simply trying to purchase more of the medicated shampoo they had previously recommended for itchy skin. I was denied because my own GSD, who was a patient there and was ultimately put down at their clinic, had passed away, so I was told I was no longer considered a current patient. Losing my dog was heartbreaking, and the interaction felt cold and unnecessarily transactional. Unfortunately, that experience reinforced my overall feeling that this clinic focuses more on upselling appointments and services. Find a vet who doesn't shut people out when their pet passes away.

Thankfully they offered other VCA options that were nearby. We called VCA Lakeline (open till 2pm) and were given a "work in" appt. They explained this could mean a 30 to 45" wait. We accepted -gratefully! Cara-(sp)an incredible vet tech took a very thorough hx and took Nani's temperature. Dr Pasternak came in and gave her a very thorough clinical exam, and then talked to us about GI Symptoms and potential issues. There are multiple potential issues and we decided to go with the majority of the treatment plan at this time- a cross between feeling like we are doing diagnostics and immediate symptom relief. We were presented with many options and an explanation of what each item did was given by Cara. The cost associated with each item was readily available. We weren't pressured at all. They opened a can of specialty food and gave it to her but she didn't touch it so they removed it from her plan. Bloodwork panels will be available next week. We will hear back from Dr Pasternak and determine follow up care. See if a USG is recommended etc. Nani was a work in and we were very impressed by the level of organization and care provided. We highly recommend VCA Lakeline and Cara and Dr. Pasternak too! Also kudos to the receptionist and check out staff who were very kind and efficient!

My poor boy. We called around and were luckily referred to Parmer Lane Pet Hospital. They answered the phone and were extremely helpful & had genuine concern about our problem. They had availability & said as soon as we can get there. So we opted for the next appointment spot. When we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and quickly checked into the exam room. Our vet tech, Amanda, came in and quickly accessed Hobbes, asked us some questions to get his baseline down. She also offered him some treats, which he loved! He's pretty picky normally, so of course I had to find out what kind they were so we can buy them for him. (Pic attached) She also let him explore and he was very happy about that as well. Then Amanda walked out and back in with Dr Thevis. Dr Thevis said hi to Hobbes. Gave him some pets and told him how cute he was while checking him for any other injuries since we explained we thought Hobbes got a scratch from his sister when they were playing. Thankfully no other injuries. Dr. Thevis and Amanda kept Hobbes very calm and put a yellow dye in his eye so that we could see if he had any scratches. He blinked a few times, but didn't seem to care because it happened so quickly. Dr Thevis showed us with a black light how a scratch/cut/inflammation would light up in his eye. Unfortunately he has a corneal ulcer. We were given eye drops, a cone, and then asked to schedule a recheck so we can make sure he gets better. The next day, his eye had some gunk in it, and I was so concerned! I called Parmer Lane and Dr. Thevis was not in, however the receptionist (sorry I forgot her name) answered the phone and was so sweet and caring and told me that they would have a vet tech answer my questions and give me a call back as soon as possible. She also said if I had not heard back by lunchtime to give them a call again. The number they have on file is my husband's and he did not answer his phone, but they left us a detailed message. The following day, they called us again to make sure that we had gotten the voicemail and were not worried about his eye. I thought it was so thoughtful to call back just to make sure that we had gotten their previous message. I called in to reschedule the recheck appointment and it was a breeze! Everyone who works here seems to genuinely want to help you! The level of care, concern, and customer service from the team at Parmer Lane Pet Hospital is 10/10. You guys are doing everything right. Thank you so much for making finding a new vet so easy. Definitely referring my friends.

I see why she came here, as every vet and tech we interacted with was a world more experienced and compassionate than we've seen anywhere else. Other vets we had seen after she left wouldn't even give us guidance or concern for her condition, so we had tracked down our doc and truly, they saved her life, it bought us at least another happy year or so with our gal. In her many years of life, we'd moved lots and have seen a full spectrum of vets and emergency vet hospitals and just wow. It feels good to be able to trust the staff this well. Our gal had advanced kidney disease, but they were able to stabilize her and get us on a quality of life maintaining spot with fluid therapy. We had a vacation, and a tech was able to make home visits to help out while we were gone to keep our girl in good shape. It's been around a year since she passed, and we recently brought a new pup into our lives! Made our first visits this month for her shots, and it is heart warming to see all the staff again. It's a bit of a drive for us, but I really wouldn't go elsewhere.

I switched doctors in the practice and saw Dr. Graf, who was great and lovingly cared for Mr Potter, my male Basset Hound, from puppy to 2.5 years. During a difficult period when my dog was sick, I expressed my dismay to the staff about poor communication with me when I needed followup calls or emails about laboratory results, Rx medication that needed to be compounded or special ordered, and followup appointments. CRICKETS I called again and again asking to speak to a Vet. Finally, after two days, Dr Faggioni called me. I explained my concerns and the lack of quality communication which I expected. He told me that it was perhaps best for me to find another vet practice! REALLY!? DONE. GONE. BOOM Interestingly enough, that lady vet, Dr. Graf, is no longer working there, too. Not surprised. This guy is awful. He has a terrible "bedside" manner (how does someone NOT talk in high baby talk to an adorable puppy?) THAT should've been a Red Flag for me! AVOID the headache and problems...choose a different vet practice from the beginning. Followup: Addressing the practice DVM who responded to my Google review (go read her response yourself)... https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/117270310283708621777/place/ChIJ4yNHTkTNRIYRYOZRvfkt5pU/@30.4694421,-97.9277581,11z/data=!4m6!1m5!8m4!1e1!2s117270310283708621777!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDIxMi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Wow... Really? "impatient and overbearing owners"... I hope every person reading this review sees that comment and let's that sink in before they make an appointment with your practice! You have no idea! You cannot even BEGIN to understand how upsetting this whole experience was for me. And there is NO WAY you can excuse your staff's mismanagement of the communications nor Dr Faggioni's reprehensible, unprofessional response to my complaint. My dog had a BLEEDING lower GI. After that first email from Dr Graf, I was concerned & had multiple questions about the treatment plan. I wanted to TALK her and have my concerns addressed and questions answered, so I could make the best, evidence-based decision about the treatment. It doesn't matter that I emailed the practice after midnight. The VET should have called me after receiving the message from the Receptionist and reading my email. But NO ONE called me. After I didn't receive a call all day, I called to ask why and underscore the importance of my TALKING in real time, to my Vet. Email correspondence was not adequate! I explained that to the Receptionist. She made excuses for the practice and said she would relay my message to the Vet who was seeing patients. NO ONE CALLED. I had to look up answers to my questions ONLINE in order to make an informed decision about which medication I wanted to give my dog. I called later to arrange to pick up the medication. When I arrived, I again voiced my DISMAY at the LACK of FOLLOWUP by a VET, and that I expected to hear from the OWNER in the morning. Again this was TWO DAYS of no phone contact from my Vet who "supposedly" was "caring" for my dog! Dr Faggioni called the next morning and conveyed NO CONCERN or EMPATHY and clearly did not CARE that I was upset about his practice's failure. His lack of COURTESY towards me and his UNPROFESSIONAL comment, that I should "find another veterinary practice" is the RED FLAG that EVERY person reading this should "GET" from my review! THIS IS NOT OKAY! YOU cannot make it okay simply by reading an employee's narrative from a chart! That cannot adequately convey the issues I needed to discuss. If I could give a "ZERO" star rating I would!

My 13-year-old pup, who has weak back legs, his condition very well known to City Limits Vet, and who is also being treated for Cushings by them, had his back legs give out two Fridays back. I called in the afternoon, requesting for him to be seen. I was told they were slammed and that I should take him to the ER. Ok... disappointed. Later that afternoon, I decided to put my dog in the car to take to ER but stopped by City Limits first to pick up another of his medication they had on hold before the weekend. While on my way, the receptionist mentioned over the phone not being able to see my pup, which is when I again requested if there was any chance they could accommodate. Their response? "Let me check again." It made me hopeful. When I got there, it was again a no. When I expressed dismay - "we are slammed", "we are not an ER". The clinic didn't appear busy at all. Yet, they refused to make any effort to help, knowing full well my dog's condition and that he was in the car. As a longtime client, this was especially distressing. The receptionist even acknowledged that I have been with them since the beginning when they newly opened the clinic and my three dogs (now 17, 13, and 9) have all been patients at City Vet. They didn't have the decency or compassion to be considerate. Even if they had simply taken a quick look at him and said, yes, he needs to go to the ER because of XYZ, I would have felt supported. Instead, they completely disregarded us. Just shaken, I went back in and asked them to send me all of my dogs' records so I could find another vet. They did so quickly; no remorse, no follow-up, and no care. It felt like a proverbial middle finger to the trust and loyalty I had placed in them over the years. I had even referred friends and other community members to City Limits. City Limits will bear the burden of their own karma for their complete LACK OF COMPASSION and ETHOS in this moment of truth. It's not whether they had the right to refuse to see my pup or not, it's that I am deeply disappointed and shaken to have put my trust in a clinic that showed such callousness when it mattered most.

Recently, I paid in advance for lab work for my dog. When I returned to drop off the sample, I was told that the order had "expired" and that I would need to pay again for the analysis. That didn't sit right with me--if I already paid for the test, the clinic should honor that and complete the service without charging me twice. Situations like this make it hard to trust that clients are being treated fairly or that their pets' care is being handled with consistency and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience has left a sour taste, and with my past experiences this year i think I'll be looking for a new veterinarian moving forward. I hope the clinic can improve its communication and billing practices so other pet owners don't run into the same frustration.
