I was very pleased with their service. The moving men were prompt and polite. I moved from one overstuffed studio to into a one bedroom apartment with a lot of boxes and it took them just a few hours. Which I thought was pretty awesome. The men honored my requests and delivered as my new landlord requested as far as were to unload, etc. They were upfront about their pricing and there were no surprises. Overall, this my second time using movers and I must say it was much better than the last! Rent A Vet is a wonderful company top to bottom. I called THE DAY BEFORE and Frank was able to give me a time slot on Friday, one of the busiest moving days. It was such a life saver for someone who waited so last minute! Their prices are great for how awesome of a job they do. There is a minimum though, so keep that in mind for smaller jobs! They gave me a few hour window but showed up well within the first hour before giving me ample notice. The day before Frank had told me only two of his guys would be able to come (likely because I waited so late), but Frank came as well to help. I got 3 for the price of 2! All 3 were courteous and friendly. They worked hard and did not take their sweet time as many movers do. They moved exactly what I told them and dismantled large furniture as well. They took extra care to wrap everything as to not damage my items. They unloaded all my belongings just as smoothly and set up everything as I expected. The best display of this company's greatness is when something went wrong. A screw to my bed frame went missing during the move and Frank personally went to the store to get a new one, without taking up hourly time. You can't ask for better customer treatment than that! Payment was smooth (cash or card) and I got my receipt right away. If you're moving in the STL area I would highly recommend these guys. At least give them a ring to get a quote. Simply put, this was the best moving experience I have ever encountered. Rent-A-Vet was able to accommodate my last minute move scheduling, which was made the week prior. The four man team arrived in time, and were very professional and friendly. I had a full truckload of furnishing and household goods which was moved from two locations into our new home. This took them only 4 hours! All furniture was wrapped in blankets, and handled with care. There was no damage to any furniture, walls, or doorways. The team really worked hard, and wasted no time. I will be using them for all my moves in the future, and would recommend this company to all my family and friends. I have never experienced such a positive moving event as this! read more

Amazing! I've never hired movers before and don't really know how to judge, but my gratitude is over the top. Two teams worked 9 hours without a break. I've never seen people work so hard. If it's been a while since you've moved, my hints are to: 1. Label everything that's going 2. Label all the doors in the new place. These teams responded to tags on doors such as "grandma's room", "Olivia's room" "breakfast room", and "deck" vs "patio" 3. To save time, if you can remove and pre wrap and label mirrors from dressers and such. If you don't do it, Matthew will. 4. have a cooler of bottled water for them (I did not do this and I feel bad about it) 5. Have cash for tips (I did not do this and now I have to send it to the office.) 6. They are supposed to take their own trash, but it makes it easier for them if you have disposal for them. * the price is right! Seemed very fair to me. * ask for Matthew's team. Thank you to our two movers who worked endlessly in 95 degree heat to get us all moved in under 6 hours! They seriously didn't sit down the entire time, were on time, made sure everything made it to the right place in the new apartment, and even carried our couch up to the third floor when it didn't fit in the elevator. The only thing we weren't pleased with was the general handling of our items. Many of our boxes were damaged, and our solid wood entertainment center has several chips on all the pieces. I thought they would wrap that stuff in a moving blanket or plastic, so next time I will wrap them myself beforehand. read more

The first time I made arrangements I was told when someone would be there for my pick up. But, when I called to verify someone was coming at the prearranged time I was told I was not placed on the schedule. We rescheduled and the crew was on time, pleasant and professional. Had a great experience with Rent a vet! The movers showed up right in the middle of the timeframe they told us and called beforehand to give us an ETA. They worked quickly and were very professional. Always double checking things to make sure they were going in the right place. Booking an appointment was incredibly easy - I called just two weeks before the move and they were able to accommodate us on our desired date and time. We've never used movers before so I had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by how much easier it made things. Wow, these guys were awesome. I've never even had a good moving experience before, much less an excellent one. A couple of the guys could have been a bit more professionally dressed, but the team was all incredibly polite, considerate, and professional. Most of the crew seemed to have good experience and knew how to handle what was a very difficult move. The crew and team leaders were really beyond exceptional. Extremely good with customer service, knowing how to handle a difficult move, and to drive their teams. There was no standing around and talking and pretty much no idle time. I've never seen such professional, strong, and intelligent leadership with movers. While I wish I got everyone's name and they were all great, Mathiew's leadership and that of his main lead were extremely good. First mover I could ever recommend, highly. read more

The movers at rent a vet did an excellent job. Unfortunately, they were about 10 min late to my 2-hour job, however once they showed up they got right to work. They handled my items with care to ensure my home didn't get any damage during move-in. I had a couple of problems during move-in day unrelated to the movers, and they handled each change thrown at them with ease. They didn't charge me to bring items up extra steps, which was generous. I would absolutely recommend Rent a Vet in the future! read more

We packed our own truck and moved to STL from California. By the time we arrived we were exhausted and didn't want to unpack. I called Rent a Vet and they were able to show up the same day and unload our truck for us. They were quick and unloaded on a Friday evening in 10 degree weather. They did a great job and we actually used them again to haul away all of our moving boxes once we were done unpacking. The only reason I left a star off is because they left one small item in the elevator and an extension cord in the truck. It worked out though and I found both items quickly. read more

I was really looking forward to working with these guys. Lots of positive reviews, and really quick and easy communication with Frank to book the date. They showed up on time. One of the guys (taller, bald with a beard) seemed mad about being there from the start. The other guy was nicer. Bearded guy smoked while handling our possessions and while in the back of the truck which was upsetting because cardboard and fabric absorbs smoke. He smoked for nearly the entire time. It seemed very unorganized. We were having things moved from a storage unit to two different places, and I tried to let them know what was going where, and the response I got was, "We move things more often than you do" - that may very well be true, but I know what is going to what location. I feel that it took easily an hour and a half longer than it should have because they spent half the time moving things around in the truck because they didn't group things like I told them to for easy access at each location. After the move, I realized that they broke one of the slats to our (brand new) back gate by trying to force it open wider than it needed to go. I tried to reach out to the owner/original contact to let him know about the service issues and resolve them, but after 3 days I still have yet to hear anything back. Overall, I would not recommend these guys to anyone. read more

I received a quote by email and got an immediate response back that they could move me. ( I needed moved 4 days later!) They were a little late on their time frame because their first job took longer than expected, but luckily I was still packing so it worked out fine. The price was awesome! I bid three companies. Frank and his team did an amazing job of moving us from St Louis to New Jersey. The day we had scheduled the move, Frank and team arrived on time. There was torrential rain through out the loading period and still they managed to bring all our stuff down three flights of stairs without any hiccups. All the furniture was wrapped in plastic and additionally wrapped in blankets, the bed was dismantled. At a certain point during the move it looked like the truck the team had may not be enough hold all the items we had and Frank has the presence of mind to make sure he had another truck on standby in case we needed it, showed great presence of mind. During unloading we had the same excellent experience, everything was moved without any damage, all the furniture was unwrapped, the bed was assembled. A big shout out to Frank, Matt and Brendan for making this difficult move look easy. read more

These guys are the best!! Last week I had contacted Rent A Vet to discuss having some heavier household items moved from our South City home (ie... narrow hallways and multiple killer staircases) into our moving trailer. One piece in particular was antique, awkward and almost 300 lbs of enormous! Frank and his crew were very accommodating with our last-minute schedule and arrived on time and with a genuinely friendly, git-r-done demeanor. My husband and I were both very impressed with the efficiency, timliness, professionalism and conscientiousness with which the job was completed. They finished within the quoted time frame and fee and left the house and the trailer in good clean condition. My only regret is that we can't take them with us to the west coast to UN-load into our new home. If you're looking for an all-around amazing moving company, stop here....you've found it. read more

Starting off the 3 young men that showed up to move my apartment were very pleasant young men and one of them was the owner's son. Very fine young man so Im gonna be honest and say my wife isn't the most pleasant person to work with the young men got a tongue lashing that they didn't deserve, as nice as the mover's were they weren't very efficient and I hired a 3 man crew just so the move would go smooth and quickly but negative... but it wasn't all their fault a lot of things factored in the apartment building released the service elevator in the middle of them moving but at the same time they weren't moving very quick and I didn't have much to move it really should've been a 45 minute to an hour move tops but it ended up taking 4 hours but something happened we couldn't get the tv off the wall so I had to figure that out but then again I was helping the move a lot of the furniture myself as far as disassembly and reassembling it was a huge fail so my total came out to be $859 but we came to an agreement to pay $610 it was a nightmare because I moved all the boxes we packed in my car over the weekend so all they really had to move was 2 beds a few tvs a couch 2 chairs so I was disappointed in rent a vet read more

Highly recommended. Great experience with this company. My wife is a pack rat teetering on the edge of becoming a hoarder. We have too much stuff. Like this one plastic multi-compartment condiment holder that she insists is PERFECT for when we make tacos (we've never used the thing at all in 12 years of marriage but it has made the cut in each of four moves). Anyway, lots and lots of boxes of stuff. It was a long day. The 26 foot truck was stuffed. The guys are professionals and they work hard and steady and are very polite. Frank, the owner, was courteous and clear and direct with the estimate, and scheduling, and at the end of the day, with the payment. He wants his customers to be completely satisfied. Again, I highly recommend this company. My wife and I are happy. We are making tacos tonight. And I'm sure we won't use that plastic condiment holder. read more

I just needed one refrigerator moved from a tenant occupied house across town to a business. Frank responded with a quote in minutes and was extremely fair and professional throughout the process. Most movers wanted a 2 hour minimum or tacked on a show up fee even for one item. I wasn't able to be there the day of the move, but had my family meet the guys. They reported Frank and his colleague were very respectful, punctual, and personable, had the fridge on the truck and across town to it's new home in 30 minutes. Couldn't have been easier to arrange. We hired Keonte and Ron for the 3 different POD unloads at our new house. They were so terrific on the first one we requested them for the other 2. They were fast, STRONG, creative (we couldn't get the first POD to open all the way and Keonte got in it and moved things around!!), and really respectful of our time and our stuff. It is really terrible!!!!! I reserved today from noon to 4pm and haven't got any notice so far(2pm). And I cannot reach any number of the company. If there is something going on, they should let me know at least now. Moving is really tiring and we all have our busy schedule. You should consider customer's schedule. I really would like to give nothing but there is no option, so will give 1. You should care your customers seriously and carefully. I will never use your service again anif someone ask me any recommendation, I will never give them a good recommendation about your company. -------------------------- Thank you for your reply. 4 hour time period is understandable. You may think that I have language barrier and that's why this situation happened. But the fact is that 1) your crew delayed the schedule (you clearly mentioned) and 2) I couldn't reach you more than 5 times. You could show up anytime between 12-4pm. The employees are not actually vets - only the owner is. They broke my $700 desk and only reimbursed $250, and I cleaned up the glass from the broken desk because they didn't. They took several smoke breaks, left drink bottle trash behind. I worked harder than one of the employees. Priced reasonably but misleading. The guys were flirtatious as well, in an unprofessional way. read more

These guys helped me move from a condo to a new house. Communication was great from the outset and their quote was very competitive. Three guys showed up on time and quickly moved all of my furniture and boxes within 5 hours. They even disassembled and re-assembled a couple of pieces of furniture for me. You can see that they've done it hundreds of times - everything was very streamlined and efficient and nothing got damaged in transit. I hired for loading service only , Packers were ok, kept saying we don't do this , we don't do that. The space in the pod ( in which they were loading ) could have been utilized better. Left some stuff without completing the work. We're on time . Few things as a customer that could have been better like leaving drawers open and not sealing or taping them in the pod, leaving some items outside . read more

After ABC Moving canceled my appointment for a Sunday move on that Wednesday, I had to scramble to find movers. I read the reviews about Rent A Vet and decided to use them in a bind--I dislike using newer businesses for something as important as moving all of my belongings. A three-man team of Matthew, Devonte, and Devin came out to haul my two-bedroom house (and inherited storage from my mother, father, and grandparents). They completed the move of 175-ish boxes and furniture in eight hours, which was incredible. The rates were very competitive, and the guys handled my belongings with care--nothing was broke. The three guys were polite and funny, and handled themselves like professionals. I'll never move again, because moving sucks, but if I had to, I'd never call anyone but Rent A Vet now. I can't say enough great things about Rent A Vet. They showed up at our house ready to work. They were fast, but cautious at the same time. They were very courteous, asking to use the restroom, and overall just very polite. We had some furniture we weren't moving to the new house, and my husband asked for them to move it to the garage. They did so with no complaints. My son's bed has been squeaking for at least two years, but I was too lazy to do anything about it. When he went to bed last night, there were no squeaks! We also had a piano, which I know can be a pain. They dealt with it, with no problems. I am never moving again, but if I did, I would use Rent A Vet. One last thing, we opted for two trucks and five men. We moved from a 1400 square foot house, and I recommend it. We were able to get everything to the new house, trucks unpacked, and furniture out back together in five hours. If we hadn't had them move the extra furniture into the garage, I feel like it would have been closer to 4 1/2 hours. Pricing was also VERY reasonable. I shopped around. They weren't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive. I actually think we got a steal based on how well the day went. read more

When I needed someone to move all our stuff I sent out some messages and some emails, and guess what Frank was the only business that physically called me. For starters that made me feel like I was important cause he took time out of his busy schedule to talk to me rather than send out a generic email. Next I wanted to support a business that gives back to our community and supports those who sacrificed for our country. When moving day arrived they were on time and able to accept the many challenges that arrive when moving into a loft downtown. We could not have moved without you guys. Very responsive with quote and info. Movers called ahead to let me know they were on their way. Was given arrival time of 9-10 and they showed up right around 9 which was awesome! Movers were very friendly. They don't disassemble and reassemble cribs which is understandable but I wish we would have known ahead of time to have ready. We wasted time having the movers wait for my husband to do this. Movers had trouble getting our furniture down steps in basement. My husband and brother in law were the ones taking apart and reassembling a few items to get it moved correctly. Movers didn't seem to have tools as they used our power tools. Movers scratched our hard would floors but for the most part were good about using blankets to avoid this. They stated they were done but left a few things on driveway that we had to tell them to take in house. They left a blanket and shrink wrap on a dresser and left. Ultimately friendly gentleman who did their best and tried to move as quickly as possible. read more
