Dan told me that Friday that he would need to come back to finish the bathroom the following week. The total quote was $925 for the whole job. He told me to pay $875 now and hold onto the $50 until the job is completed. I texted him over the weekend and ask if he can come back Monday. He said 100%. Monday morning comes and he texts me that he can't make it. We reschedule for Wednesday at 9:30. I text and confirm Tuesday that we are still on for Wednesday. He says yes. Wednesday morning comes and he texts me that he needs to reschedule. He asks if Friday is good. I said yes. I text him Thursday. No answer. No reply back. He left the job not completed and very messy. Paint all over my kitchen cabinets that I had to clean. The 2 rooms that he did do, there were a ton of missed spots. And not to mention the bathroom which was not completed. A waste of money. Avoid this guy. Comes across as a nice guy but seems like a con man. Numerous of negative reviews. And the positive reviews seem like his friends. Don't buy into it. Shows up late. Does a little bit of work and then leaves for a 2 hour break. Do Not Hire. Avoid at all costs.

For those who think, as I originally did, you'd get a hoity-toity designer who would look down their nose at your choices and/or current design style, nothing could be further from the truth. Carmela presented herself as very down-to-earth, fun and full of ideas. She assuaged my fears about one color, warned me about another ("This color is dark, but with light cabinets you could get away with it"), and helped me select another color entirely for a different room of the house. All in all, she was a wealth of information and I wouldn't hesitate in hiring her, and I may just do so for decorating advice after all my other projects are complete.
