By the time I'd both visited for the fitting and then returned for the try-on, I felt like I had met two friends. Ashley and Dr. Dahlia Muhammad operate the New Bern, NC office with the utmost care and dedication. Dr. Muhammad is so pleasant, encouraging, and wants the very best outcome for you, she is truly dedicated to having you walk out of that office with nothing but a beautiful smile! Her professionalism and strive for excellence is what has been going back this week. She wasn't completely satisfied with the first set and wanted me back to reevaluate and reissue another pair of dentures. You can tell from your first greeting from Ashley that she loves her job and is very proud of the organization. She ran the gamut from thoroughly explaining the process in advance and as we progressed from one step to the next, making the tray, performing the fitting, scheduling my come-back for the final step of trying on the created dentures and the return back to pick up the finished product. Ashley assisted me with the financial application with CareCredit, she explained the care of both my dentures and gums, demonstrated how to apply the paste, and organized me a take-home ddbag with everything I'd need for my new journey with an almost perfect smile. Because there was a bit of an issue with the centering of the dentures and frankly, because both Dr. Muhammad and Ashley are perfectionists, I'll be returning this week for another visit. Dr. Muhammad However, because of the personalities of both Ashley and Dr. Dahlia, I'm actually looking forward to going to the dentist! I have to say that's an absolute first for me. The cleanliness of the office, restrooms, and procedure rooms is above reproach. The patience and positive vibe that you feel, the genuine care and compassion that you experience at the office, and the promise of support was a tremendous comfort to me. I'd recommend this location hands down over what my son and other family members experienced at the Wilmington, NC location. The second visit had to be rescheduled and I specifically asked what my insurance would cover. We were willing to wait two months if needed for the insurance to renew and to cover more for the procedure. I was assured that it was preauthorized and given the amount I was responsible for at the time of the visit..which was paid in full. I received a bill two months later that I still owed almost $1200. It took a couple of months to arrange making payments, in the interim I was told they would not see my child as a patient for even his routine cleaning that is 100% covered by insurance until I paid the bill in full. Ok fine. I'll find another dentist. Then Carrie from the St. Paul's office called me today and lets me know that even though I've started making payments, I would be turned over to a collection agency in 4 months if the remainder is not paid. Shame on me for not doing my due diligence and checking with my insurance company instead of just taking their word. But also I don't want to do business anyway with a profession that specializes in the care of folks that's more concerned with a buck. I understand businesses don't run for free..but given the amount of money I have personally come out of pocket with in two visits, looks like they'd entrust their patients a little more. So no, I would not recommend. Patient care obviously takes second place.

Disappointed with Emergency Walk‑In Policy…read more I called Day & Night Family Dental on Friday at 5PM to confirm they were still accepting emergency walk‑ins. The woman on the phone told me yes, until 8PM. I explained that it was an hour drive for me and said I was on my way. When I arrived, I was told they had already stopped taking emergency walk‑ins and that I'd need to come back the next day. Their own website clearly states that "The dentists at Day & Night Family Dental will see any patient with a dental emergency the same day." I followed every instruction listed -- called ahead, explained my situation, and arrived within the hours they said walk‑ins were accepted -- yet was turned away. I understand things can get busy, but if policies change, patients should be informed before making a long drive. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially for a clinic that advertises same‑day emergency care.

The day I walked into Crabtree Valley Dental, I was greeted warmly by everyone and one of the front desk staff even came out and MOVED her car for me because there weren't any parking spots left. At my first appointment, they gave me a questionnaire asking me how I wanted to be communicated with (ex. "just do what you need to do, I don't want to know", "tell me everything", etc.) which I now don't understand why all doctors don't do! I was then formally introduced to every single person I encountered from the tech to the doctor all the way to the billing person. Furthermore, what initially began for mechanical reasons has now turned into an entire transformation of my smile. Every step of the way, each team member I worked with encouraged me to not stop until I was 100% happy, including and mostly Dr. Joy. In the beginning I figured they were just being nice, but they were not. Dr. Joy was so invested in me being absolutely content and confident in my teeth and smile again. Somewhere along the way I decided to also get gum contouring and she personally called the periodontist on more than one occasion to make sure everything went well and I was taken care of. She was also in contact with the prosthetist every step of the way. The last thing I was worried about (and then I'll stop rambling) was the temporaries looking funny while the veneers were made. I was apprehensive about sharing photos yet because these are just the temps and I chipped one by accident, but attached is a before and after! I'm bummed to switch my dentist because the doctors here are so great, but dealing with this office is a nightmare.
