By the time I left the office he had booked an appointment for me with a highly rated Charleston endodontist who could handle the task of a relatively complicated root canal. Dr. Tupta asked me to return to his office as soon as the RC procedure was complete, and he would work me in for a permanent filling of the treated tooth. I am a certified "dentaphobe," thanks to a traumatic experience during my first dental appointment as a child (think the Steve Martin character in "Little Shop of Horrors"), but the way I was treated by Dr. Tupta and his office personnel gave me no qualms about returning to his office to have the procedure completed.

The dentist refused to see me at my second soft reline and refused to grind down the thick spots in the dentures. Said she can not do anything while im healing. Even after healing these teeth are far too long and caused me jaw pain. I got refunded less than half my money. 1300 out of 2900. They're just after money they don't care how your smile looks. I deal with the public for my job and now im stuck with HUGE teeth that could never look natural or even passable. I hate the dentist there. The assistant aren't any better. I arrived for a consultation and completed a host of paperwork. I was shown to the exam room promptly. That's where it all went downhill. The attending dentist entered the room, mumbled his name, reached for an exam stick/tongue depressor, looked at my problem tooth, and then promptly left without saying a word. Total time: about 15 seconds, if that. Seriously! As I walked into the hallway, he was sitting in a chair apparently staring off into space. Call me crazy, but I think a consultation means ACTUALLY CONSULTING with the patient regarding the work to be done, and answering questions. This dentist said NOT ONE WORD, and didn't bother to discuss anything. The staff however, had no problem mentioning "financing options" no less than three times! I have excellent dental insurance, but even so, I have the funds to pay the entire amount if necessary. My dad despised what he called "assembly-line dentistry". I feel this was precisely what he was talking about. I'll be cancelling my appointment for the procedure I needed.

I was…read moredisappointed that one of my front crowns only lasted a year or so before chipping at the gum line. I had four done at one time on the top. A couple of months ago there was a problem with a titanium implant crown. I wasn't happy with it at all. The dentist had to do so much work on it to make it comfortable in my mouth. When someone pays that much money for crowns, they expect better service. Of course, dentists will always give patients the same line about how when it leaves their office it's no longer in their hands. Sometimes it is difficult to know if it's the dentist's fault or the lab, but it's so unfair to the patient. Dental work is painful enough without having to accept subpar results. There should be some remedy for problems like mine. It's like no one cares. If I were a dentist, I would think twice before using Mountaineer, especially if he or she wants to keep their patients. Sorry for the poor review, but I'm just so frustrated and disappointed.
