Switzerland exceeded our idealized image of this amazing, beautiful country! That said, Alpenwild…read moreand its locally sourced guides exceeded our expectations! This should be #1 at the top of your bucket list! Alpenwild actually specializes in hiking and climbing tours, and we expect that all of those tours are equally amazing. We took the Scenic Alps by Rail tour and the rest of this review is focused on that one. This is a fast-paced 9 days using the extensive and marvelous Swiss train system to crisscross the country from north to south and east to west, hitting all the major destinations away from the urban cities of Zurich and Geneva. You'll be travelling in a small group of 7 couples, who will quickly become good friends. The price includes everything except lunch, souvenirs, and a departing tip for your guides. Ours were a husband-wife team of Swiss citizens from Lucerne. Their English was perfect, as was their love and knowledge of Switzerland. All nights are in first class hotels, not on a train, and all travel is on a first class rail pass. With one minor exception, you bags are portered between hotels for you. Fitting all you need in the single suitcase allowed per person, you'll want to wear small backpack for some overflow and a few souvenirs. While not all that demanding, there is also a lot of walking in towns, to/from/between trains, and on level, prepared surfaces at 3 high altitude, sometimes snow covered, sites. Constrained by the trains' schedules, some of this walking is at quite a brisk pace. So, be honest with yourself about being up to Alpenwild's advice on one's level of health and fitness needed before booking this trip. When booking your flights, take into consideration jetlag and that you will not tour Lucerne itself. We had an overnight redeye to Zurich with a 9 hour time difference. Arriving in the afternoon the next day, we crashed at the Radisson on the airport. After sleeping in the next day, we took the train to Lucerne and checked in at Alpenwild's chosen hotel a day early. We did a self-guided tour of the city in the afternoon, went to bed early, and awoke late on the day the tour started, finally fully rested with our body clocks reset. Starting after noon, the 1st day is only a gondola ride to a mountain above the city followed by dinner in the old part of the city. The next morning is an early boat cruise of the entire length of Lake Lucerne to reach a train to Lugano. Lucerne itself is well worth touring, so we're glad we followed the personal itinerary described above and not just to recover from jetlag. You MUST see Switzerland and we can't imagine a better way than with Alpenwild.

I went through security and made a mistake because I had my tablet in my bag instead of in a separate bin. WITHOUT me knowing it, they removed it and did not inform me that they did that!! I got on the plane, looked for it, and NO TABLET! My husband called Provo airport immediately and lost and found said there was nothing they could do that day; AND 4 DAYS AFTER because they were gone for Memorial Day weekend. Then on Tuesday, I called again, and still no sign of my tablet. Inga in lost and found didn't do anything for me, even though I was in tears talking to her. I called then the following day...now this is 7 DAYS after my flight; and spoke then with Ashley in lost and found. She went above and beyond to go and find out where it was. She called me immediately and told me she found it. I was SO HAPPY!! Thank you Ashley!! This is ridiculous. Get your act together TSA at PVU. If you remove something, let the flyer be aware!!

I didn't need a new bumper; I just needed it attached securely. They said their process required them to install a new bumper; I said fine; whatever. Then, just a few months (not even years) later, it started coming really loose on one side. When I called them, they said it was because the fender was bent so they couldn't securely attach it. Why didn't they think to tell me that initially, when it mattered? I tried to get my money back, including filing a dispute on my credit card, but they won't budge. I don't know what it is with this location. 20 years ago, I used Unique in Salt Lake Valley and they took excellent care of me. Whenever we need work done at this SS location, they charge us up the yin-yang and for some reason, it always takes 50-100% longer than the time they quote us. Due to this, we will never use them again. It's sad because we like to support our local businesses, and we've had a great experience with Enterprise next door - no complaints - but I can't support this one.

The Twitter updates are usually timely and the trip planner services are intuitive for newcomers and experienced travelers alike. That said, this review goes out specifically to the dude with the dark beard that operates on the UVX line and your uncanny ability to make your passengers miss their Frontrunner connection by the skin of their teeth. Even when traffic conditions are light and all the other UVX drivers are on-time, you are consistently late; and I say this after having used the UVX line for the past year and been your passenger several times. None of your other colleagues manage to be as bafflingly late by such a narrow margin as you. It's impressive, really. I get that traffic and external factors influence public transit, but I wouldn't have specifically re-downloaded the Yelp app to leave this review if there wasn't a trend with this specific driver. Anyways, the rest of you at UTA are great. Dark-bearded UVX guy...figure it out. UPDATE: I would like to update my review to account for the stellar crew that work the Frontrunner train lines. They're always courteous and willing to help, and their associated Twitter updates are timely. Extra shoutout to the gents working the Frontrunner NB line around 7:30 PM on 8/7/19. I was the last guy to the station and was late by a few seconds, and y'all delayed leaving the station so I could jump on.
