I even would come back and look at it to admire it in the 2 months it took for the cabinets to come in. We did not get our cabinets there. We wanted to initially but they just seemed asleep at the wheel and like they didn't care whether we went with them or not and didn't help us to make decisions out of indifference. But whatever. We loved the marble slab and they would fabricate it, install it, etc., so fine. When I went to check out the slab a few days before they were to come--we went to see how they had laid out the template on the **2 slabs** we had picked and.......there was only one--and it was NOT the same slab we had picked and had been waiting all this time for. A worker confessed they had given the slabs to someone else and swapped out the slabs for a different lot. This lot, and the slots were darker and had lots of brown in it, which we did NOT want and we intentionally--as I said--had selected the slabs we wanted for the exact color of THOSE slabs. We had selected all the colors of the kitchen based on what we had selected. We picked the cabinets based on it, the backsplash, the wall color, the shelving, the flooring. The slab we wanted was shimmering luminescent sparkling white with streaks of green and blue-grey. This slab was opaque and none of the green or blue. The disdainful women sneered and said it was the exact slab/lot we had bought. I had photos of the original slab and showed them it was different. They lied to our faces and said with a shrug "Don't know what to tell you. You can pick something else but it'll be 12 weeks before we'd be able to schedule. " My Mom is 95 years old--back then she was 92--literally days before Thanksgiving, and we could not have plywood countertops for Thanksgiving and for 3 months subsequently. Plus, there was no comparable stone in their yard to what we had selected, so even if we decided to wait....they had no stone like the one we DID pick out. I started writing this review 3 years ago when this all happened and was so heartbroken I couldn't finish. Three years later....it still is awful and a massive disappointment. My Mom was going for her dream kitchen this late in life, and these ugly white and brown slabs that were NOT the slabs we picked have not improved. I wonder to this day who came along with a wad of money and convinced "Quality" Granite to give them OUR slab. Incredibly sad and kind of sickening. I am embarrassed when people pretend to like the countertops because they're not the magical sparkling counters my Mom fell in love with. Two stars because the installers did a great job and were polite and professional.

    Barbosa Carpentry - Before

    Barbosa Carpentry

We hired Udo Barbosa again when it came time to do our kitchen renovation…read more We saved up for years to renovate our kitchen, and we couldn't be happier that we trusted Barbosa Carpentry with the job. We started the process with some great conversations about what was on our Wish List vs. Must Have List. Barbosa Carpentry was booked for months, but it would take that long to source and receive everything for the project. We were going to hire a designer through one of the many kitchen stores in the area. We spent months visiting different showrooms and talking to designers, investigating what we liked and didn't like in other kitchens. When the time came, Udo suggested we save some money and let him be our designer. Again, another great decision. We took our time sourcing certain floors, quartz countertops, cabinet hardware and appliances. All the while, Udo Barbosa brought us multiple designs and talked through our likes/dislikes. It was a pleasant experience and Udo made sure that we stayed on budget. Once we signed the contract, Udo handled the Permits, ordering, deliveries, electrical, plumbing and demolition. He planned accordingly so that once the cabinets arrived, he would get started. Thoughtful planning and time management kept the project on time and within budget. Udo and his professional partner, Teddy, came daily for a month and handled everything with ease and professionalism. When there were surprises (like a vent pipe in the way), as is expected in any full gut, they worked through the issues together and came up with solid solutions. Udo listened to my questions along the way, and always explained any decisions he was making and why. The most surprising thing about our kitchen reno is that Udo made sure we had a working fridge, sink, and oven throughout the entire reno. I have never heard of being able to continue to use these vital instruments during a renovation. Udo kept our house tidy, accessible and safe (for us and our dog) during the process. We highly recommend Barbosa Carpentry.

The Stove Shoppe - Green Mountain Grill - Jim Bowie

I recently purchased a Harmon pellet stove from the Stove Shoppe. I know the reviews on Yelp for…read morethis business are pitiful but there are only 7 or 8 reviews on Yelp. There are 38 reviews on Google where they have 4.4 stars. So what I'm going to do is a three part review on Yelp since my stove isn't scheduled to be installed until April '23. My first review, part 1, will concentrate on customer service, selection and price. John Carol is the manager and he is the person I dealt with for my purchase. Because of their pitiful reviews on Yelp...they weren't my first choice. I actually went to the Somersworth Stove Shop first since their location is very close to where I live. I was NOT impressed with their customer service and their attitude. They apparently have so much business that they didn't seem to care whether I bought from them or not. Red flag alert! ALL these shops are very busy and all are booked solid for months. Some stoves are available sooner but I found they still were all generally booking three to four months out for the higher end stoves. Because of the attitude I got from the Somersworth store, I decided to give the Stove Shoppe in Epping a chance. I was very impressed with their service, honesty and patience. I did ask about their reviews and that's when they directed me to Google. I'll post a screenshot of the google reviews for your convenience. Anyway, the stove I wanted was very popular and it's looking like April will be the soonest they can install. As I said, some of their stoves were available for installation in February/March but I wanted the ceramic coated Harmon and wasn't in a hurry to get something installed for this winter, so the delay was fine with me. I did ask many questions both at the store and via email. John was great...very responsive and so far I feel very comfortable buying from these folks. That's part 1....I'll update with part two once installation is completed. Part three will cover post installation. That's all for now!

When I consulted the manual, it says to call the technician. I called the store, and they gave me the service number. So far, so good. This was on a Saturday (11/6), techs are off until Monday. On Monday, 11/8, I called the service number at 9:39 AM. I was told both techs were busy and given their voice mail. No problem. On Thursday, having heard nothing, I called back and got the voicemail again. Nothing. For kicks, I called on Friday, was offered voicemail, and passed. I called back on Monday, 11/15, and was again offered voicemail. I explained that it was my fourth call without a response, and a hand message was taken. I'm writing this on the evening of Thursday, 11/18, still nothing. I get it -- you're busy. It takes seconds to make a call. You were not so busy that you couldn't take my payment of nearly $5000 for this stove and installation, I think that's worth a follow-up call when I need service. Also, the warranty is for one year, iirc. Makes me wonder if we're playing some game over a faulty design and they don't want to cover it. Wish I could say try another shop, but we chose these guys because the sales experience was the best in the area (a pretty low bar). This frankly, this sucks. Way to live up to that high Epping bar, guys. I'll be calling the Better Business Bureau in the morning.
