I used to rely on the Fullerton Observer for community news, but over time it's become clear that…read morethe publication lacks objectivity and professionalism. There's a noticeable bias in how stories are reported -- especially on local politics -- and it feels more like an opinion blog than a legitimate news source. Instead of presenting balanced coverage, certain voices are elevated while others are ignored or unfairly portrayed. The reporting can also be inconsistent and sometimes lacks context, which makes it hard to fully trust what's being shared. I understand it's a small, volunteer-based publication, but if you're going to cover civic matters, journalistic standards matter. Disappointed to say this paper no longer feels like it represents the whole Fullerton community -- just a narrow slice of it.

The service has and consistently is highly knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming to not just us, but to all who walk in. The value is = or better than Barnes and Nobles because they have point systems and 2 x a year, the local's favorite..."The Fire Sale!" Although this is not like the Standard in New York, it is definitely top 3 of my favorite book stores of all time.

My friend and I were approached by three different employees during our time there. They asked if they could assist us with anything and gave some great recommendations. I was looking for a fantasy book for my teenage brother and the employee was incredibly helpful giving recommendations, finding the "teen book of the month." I didn't even know they had a teen book of the month! The organization of the store was great. The categories and book selections that were specially displayed were especially helpful. For example, in their AAPI stories section I was able to find some really interesting books that I might have not otherwise seen. A selection of their Barnes and Noble specialty book covers that feature some classic works (like Pride and Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh) were on sale for between $8-$12. For such a beautiful high quality book, I would definitely return to purchase one of those at that price. The other books though were a bit pricey. The employees there made this visit extra enjoyable. I don't go to Barnes and Noble very often, but yesterday's visit makes me want to return again soon.

None of these are your standard issue books, but specially chosen, eclectic and fascinating titles. Do I sound like I'm gushing? Well, I just can't tell you what a pleasure it is to be in a place that still believes in providing a classic secondhand book store experience. I admit, I don't usually read romance because I can't handle spice, but I still found a cool book published just last month, and by a Filipino author, too.
