I can't express enough how fantastic the customer service was at Metro the Spa! The massage I…read morereceived was also top notch. I'll be looking forward to booking another massage and trying other services at Metro the Spa next time. One of my best friends moved to St. Charles and started the next chapter of her life there with her husband and family. Since she was pregnant around the time of her birthday, I was on a mission to find local spas in her area that provided prenatal massage services. I found Metro The Spa on Yelp and noted the highly acclaimed reviews. It helped that it was conveniently located about 5 minutes from my friend's house too. The Metro Spa offered gift certificates, but I wanted to verify a few things before I placed the purchase. I reached out to the spa and was in contact with RC, who I believe is the owner/manager. He was very responsive via email, and the whole transaction went very smoothly. A month later I was planning on being in town for my best friend's baby shower. She didn't use her gift card yet, so we figured it would be fun to get massages together. I corresponded with RC again, and he went above and beyond to make the two appointments happen at the same time and day. Unfortunately on the day of our appointments, only one of the massage therapists showed up (and bless her for trying to damage control the situation by trying to get a hold of the other therapist). It was a bummer that we had to decide on the spot between the two of us, but my best friend graciously declined the appointment since I was her guest in town from California. Despite the snafu, which I'm sure was a misunderstanding, I really appreciated how the staff really tried to make it up to us. I got a discount off my receipt for the inconvenience, and my best friend will have a special discount for her rescheduled appointment. It showed the kind of honest business they run as they hold themselves to customers' satisfaction. I had the 75-min Chakra Balancing massage for my appointment. I'm familiar with the chakra system, so I was highly intrigued by what the massage entailed. Heather was my amazing massage therapist, and she walked me through the process. Prior to the massage I intuitively chose 2 out of 7 chakra cards based on how I was feeling in the moment. Before going into the massage my intention was to recenter and ground myself, so the words "Harmony" and "Grounding" stood out for me on the cards. These words aligned to the heart and root chakras respectively. Heather applied Aveda brand oils that supported the balance of these chakras and used a Swedish/deep tissue combo technique. I felt deeply relaxed after the session. Loved it!

I can not believe I am just writing this review. I started going to metro the spa over 15 years ago…read morefor massages. I consider massages a part of my health. And now go twice a month Through out the last 15 years I have had times where due to my family giving me a gift card or because of heavy financial constraint I have seen other massage therapist. Every time with other massage therapist I have been disappointed. I have never had massage outside Metro the spa that is as good as RC. There has been a few time when due to my schedule I had another massage therapist besides RC at Metro and they have all been amazing as well. He works hard to hire qualified individuals! Specifically about RC and how he gives a massage. He listens, before each massage he asks how are you feeling and will adjust the massage based on what is bothering you. You DO NOT get a cookie cutter massage. Also I have to rave about that fact that I have been getting a deep tissue massage and it is done in such a way I am still relaxed and can get my "massage drunk". His skill, knowldge of the muscles and flow of the massage are superior. Another huge bonus to going to Metro is when you get an hour massage, you get the full hour. All other places I have been to give a 5 minute undress and 5 minute dress time. Which means your massage is 50 minutes max. And those places generally would always short you even more time. Most of the times I had massage at Massage Lux and it was about 40 mins from hands on to hands off so they could turn the room over quicker. You will not get shorted at Metro. I will add that because you get your full time sometimes they run a little behind. So do not be in a hurry or have any plans after your massage. As for pricing. Their prices are comparable if not lower than any other place I have gone too. And the service is top quality. Highly recommend Metro the Spa and RC!!

Facials are my personal fav relax place. My lady of several years recently relocated (thrilled for…read moreher) and transitioning to a new person like was not exciting to me. I did the house facial with Nicole. Great convo about my personal skin history up top. She like MASSAGES your face. It was like the perfect pressure IMO. The product line she has smells good but isn't super heavy (again my jam). She did a light thing that she explained but was relaxing i stead of listening. Having had pretty significant acne in my youth, I'm precious about my derm approved products. Nicole was like would be cool if I could have sat in home care and I understand so you tell me when you are ready. This is also how I would like that handled. So overall, great facial and easy to talk to Nicole!

She takes the time to explain every step of the facial process which made me feel really comfortable. You can tell she actually knows her stuff and cares about what she's doing. I learned a bit about her story and it's clear she's genuinely passionate about skincare and her clients. It totally makes sense why she's built such long lasting relationships with her customers. She's professional but also really kind and easy to talk to. The whole experience felt relaxing and personal. It's the perfect spot if you want to treat yourself or even give as a gift. I'd definitely come back again.

It was my first time getting a lash lift. I've gotten a tint before (they didn't offer lifts where…read moreI went) so I had an idea of how this appointment would go. I did have an early appointment and since having never been here before I arrived early so I wouldn't be late. They did open their doors a little early before they actually opened. I didn't want to be that customer/client who tries to get in early so I just waited lol The woman at the front desk was super nice and helped me check in and let me know that Katie would just be a moment while she prepped her station for me. I had been up since 5am and really didn't want to fall asleep because I wanted to know what the process was and what was being done. Small chit chat didn't keep my attention so I did almost fall asleep. The service was fine? I guess? My lashes on the left eye like didn't take? Not sure if it was because of how it was done or the product that was used? The right eye seemed to work fine. I thought maybe I just needed to put on mascara to really see the difference. I followed after care instructions to a tee! Didn't touch, didn't put on make up for over 24 hours, didn't have them touch water, didn't sleep on my face... The next day my left lashes were pretty much flat compared to my right eye. Ugh. I did get a follow up call to see how my lashes were doing but I was at my bridal shower so there was no way I was gonna stop partying to take that call. I did follow up with them that Monday about how they turned out. They said I could come in so they could fix it for me. I thought, oh wow awesome! They asked for a time that would be best. I said it would be cutting it close for 3:45pm since I get off work at 3:30pm but they said they'd still take me if I got there no later than 3:48pm or something. So they put me on the book for a lash lift fix and I get the email to confirm. So that day I was scheduled, I HAUL ASS because I know time is money, only to be told that they wouldn't be able to do anything. What. Why have me drive out there to tell me that? This could've been a phone call. I get they need to see the lashes but... this could've been communicated to me beforehand. I felt like it was such a waste of my time and money. And then I was told I could come back in the recommended 4 weeks, but I'd still have to pay the same amount... lol why would I pay for a service that didn't work the first time? They offered to comp $20 but that was after I asked. It's just shocking they don't stand by their product. I have gotten my hair done at multiple places (I've moved around a lot), nails done at multiple locations and they offer to fix that service and comp it (if there's anything wrong, which is rare but at least it's offered) And those services are much more expensive than a $70 lash lift. It was really shocking. Take what you will from this review, but I will not be coming back.
