He tested the control board and said it was the issue, collected my service fee, then an hour later sent an estimate for more than the price I paid for the oven two years ago. I can look at the part online and they are wanting to charge double, plus $500 for roughly the same labor that they just spent doing for a $65 service fee. Rather than charge us for a service call to tell us in person what we suspected, that we need to buy a new one, they were kind & upstanding & told us via email. They also recommended a brand, as well as which brand to avoid. When we went to purchase the new 'fridge, the sales person confirmed everything Mike's said. When I called to ask when someone was coming they said someone would contact me shortly, again nothing. Finally at 1:30 a repair person calls me and says based on the model no of your appliance your just better off buying something new, its too old. When I tell him its less than 10 years old he then tells me that I may have the model number wrong. Another 30 minutes of back and fourth phone tag he says it would cost upwards of $300 for the part I needed. (Keep in mind this is over the phone and the guy hasnt even bothered to imply its worth his time to stop at my house even look at what could be wrong) and tells me its a special order that he doesnt have in stock anyways. So I basically wasted an entire day (missing a day of work in the process) waiting for a repair person to show up who had no intention of showing up in the first place. When I asked him how come there are no less that 2 dozen Youtube videos of people repairing the same thing saying its a simple inexspensive reapair, he goes silent for a good 30 seconds and starts to lecture me on the costs associated with running a business. I tell him thanks for wasting my time and there is no way I am doing business with them, and the tech hangs up on me! Frustrated I called the appliance manufacturer's helpline and receieved amazing customer service and the icing on the cake was learning that the $300 part Priority Appliance said I needed was only going to cost me $25.
