Friday 4:30pm: Called Priority Appliance Repair to explain the problem with the stove and to schedule an appointment. I was told that they have appointments available the next day but they were unsure of the time. I was also told I would get a call from a technician the next morning between 8am and 9am to confirm the time. Saturday 9:30am: No call received from the technician as of yet. Called the company back and now I'm told they have no record of the appointment and it was most likely a "glitch" in their system. Gave them the story and the contact info once again to re-schedule appointment between 1:30 and 3:30. The rep said the technician would call me an hour ahead of time to confirm the time to make sure I'm available when he shows up. Saturday 3:15pm: Still no contact from technician that's supposed to call me AN HOURS ahead of time. I called the company back. I had to repeat my story and my contact info yet a THIRD time. Once again, promised a call back. Saturday 3:17pm: Called one of their competitors in Arlington Heights, IL. This guy was more confident and professional and scheduled an appointment within a 2 hour window for Sunday (tomorrow). If you like to waste time and chase these folks to hold them accountable for their own appointments, go ahead. If not, look elsewhere. read more

Dryer start switch failed to engage dryer. I booked online with Priority in the late evening, got a call from the Steve the next morning. He gave me a window for his arrival and showed up during the early part of that window. Steve is very friendly--also highly focused on his work. He discerned the trouble in about 15 minutes (dryer needed new thermostat regulator), had the part in his truck, and wrapped up the job in about 20 more minutes, and at a cost far less than the cost of a new dryer. My washer broke. I contacted the fellow I'm renting my house from and he got in touch with Priority Appliance Repair. Someone called me back the following morning and left me a voicemail. I called him back. And called him back. And called him back. I ended up leaving four voicemails before anyone contacted me a few days later. We finally set up an appointment, and no one ever showed up! When I called to find out what was going on, I was told that it would be another week before someone could come out because their scheduling guy screwed up. I'd love to know how that's my problem! Can't speak to the quality of their work, because we called someone else who came out immediately. read more

Fridge stopped working. I called and was told tech would call to set up repair. Steve (tech) called and said we were out of their service area. We are over the line in Wisconsin. He listened to the description of the problem, told me what part was needed to fix it, where to get the part, and what retail price the new part should be. He then told me a temporary fix ( not it like the old tv fix....lol, the temporary fix works short term and will get us through until the part arrives. Hats off to Steve, unlike other places that said apts out two weeks, he helped with FREE advice! Highly recommend!!!! read more

A company that is willing to to turn away business and recommend the right contact, is a company I would do business with again and again. I know my thanks to Steve are well overdue! My laundry knob was broke and I called many appliance tech; they wanted to deliver a knob for $120 minimum... I then received a call back from Steve, and he suggested me to buy the parts from one of the websites he recommended. Not honest pricing. He came in and spent less than 5 minutes to tell me the hinge needs to be replaced which I already knew and told him when I scheduled the appointment. And he charged me $59 for coming and telling me that. Wow even Doctors don't make so much money in less than 5 minutes. LOL read more

Will definitely use them again. Our ice maker stopped working and was informed that we needed to order a new one. So Priority Appliance told us they would have to come back when part came in. New ice maker came in and they came out to install it, however we were still not able to get ice. Elvis was the technician and he was always so friendly, polite and knowlegable. Anyways long story short, after 5+ trips out, trying multiple fixes and still no ice, it was determined the new ice maker was defective. They never once asked for more money after all the calls and trips out to my house. Every time Steve contacted me in a timely manner, he was professional, kind and really cared about getting this issue fixed. Even though it was the manufacturers fault, Steve told me no matter what, he is going to make things right and he did. I am very happy and appreciate all the time they took to ensure the job was complete. I called Priority Appliance Repair on Labor Day and made an appointment. Chris came the next day and opened the dryer, ran some tests and then left saying he had to get a part. the next day he came back and replaced the part-cost was $183. 3 days later it broke again so i made a second appointment. Chris came the next day and replaced another part and the dryer worked again but the first time i tried using it it got so hot i was afraid it would catch fire so unplugged it. Now they tell me it may be the timer so if i want they will order the part for another $130 but at this point i don't think they know if this will fix it. in addition the tech never called me to explain why he thinks it is the timer. i don't trust that they know how to fix my dryer and don't want to waste more money. This may have not been the "Wheeling" location but i want everyone to get an idea of what these people do. Sunday 3pm: Call main line to make an appointment, tell her anytime after 330pm is ok. She asks what the problem is and makes detailed notes. Hang up feeling confident with a Monday appointment that i will be called with a time frame. Monday 6pm: No call from a technician so i call back the main number, i am rerouted to 3 different people because they don't know why something like this would happen. A woman takes ALL my info again and comes back saying they will contact the technician. Monday 630pm: Get a call back from the technician, asks what my problem is, says he didn't call because he wasn't sure if i needed "help" or "service". I have ALL the parts needed sitting here, literally is a 10 minute fix and he quotes me without seeing the appliance a 170 dollars "to make sure it is assembled right". Says hes not even available right now and can come out Wednesday, so wtf was the point of making an appointment? Priority is not the appliance repair place for you, please contact a local handy man or professional. These people subcontract people based on commission most likely. Even the call center is unable to take care of simple requests. read more

My experience with this company so far has been good. I called them late afternoon 3/26 and was told that a tech will call me the following morning between 10 and 12 noon. The following morning at 8:30 the tech called and gave me a 2 hr window when he'd be at my place to repair a fridge. He was right on time and courteous. Checked out the GE website for a listing of local recommended for my GE Profile Arctica refrigerator. Temp in freezer and fridge kept going up a few degrees. This company was #2 recommended and the reason I picked this one is they have a close location to my home in Palatine. Serviceman came the next day, said we needed a computer board. $379 in 25 minutes. My mom was home to oversee repair. When I came home, my mom told me she had to put a towel under the fridge as it's now leaking and the stuff in the freezer was melting. She called them back and they said they could not come out that afternoon. I called 5:30 this morning and told answering service that the temps on both sides is now 62 degrees! I got a call back saying someone was coming bet 9-10 am. 9:30 am I get a call saying that it will take the tech longer to get there, now bet 10:30 - 1pm as he put in the wrong computer board and he still had to go get it which is the cause for delay. WOW! The people are the experts? In the meantime, all our foods has been thrown out and water's been sitting on my hardwood floors. read more
