AeroCare/ Adapthealth/Carmichael (one business with three names depending upon who you speak with and they do not communicate with each other) which makes it extremely difficult to get any information. This company is not honest or dependable. I believe they crossed a legal line by not working with my insurance co., that would have paid for my machine. There are so many other dependable and good companies so don't trust this company. Stay away.. My insurance had been covering my machine and since I had met my deductible it would be fully covered. For, 6 months, I tried to get someone from Adapthealth to help me. I was hung up on, given false information, the person I spoke with would not call me or email me back and they would not let me speak with a manager. The only time I received a call, was to collect the rest of what was owed. I asked for a copy of the invoice or for them to send one to my insurance. I was told they would not send it to insurance I had to, however, they would never send me one. Each time I spoke with someone I was given a different amount that was owed-$900-$1300 dollars. There was no where online to find what was really owed. Then I changed insurance companies (be/ my husband went on Medicare) and I tried to get this cleared before that but again no one would help me. I refused to pay for the machine since my other insurance company would have. When they continued to threaten me with collections, I turned the machine in. They took back a machine that my insurance company was paying on and would have paid off if they had done their job and been an honest company to do business with. read more

I had a small problem:question about my CPAP. I dropped by without calling to inquire about my issue. I was politely greeted and ask to wait and with in a couple of minutes a technician came and discussed my concern. We went to a conference room where he ran a few tests. All was ok with the unit and the resulting solution was a kink in my mask/pillows. I was noticeably embarrassed but they were so gracious and cordial I was to come back if I ever had any more questions! Well trained and happy staff! I called to ask a question about pricing & insurance coverage for a new CPAP machine. I left a message & someome from the Marietta branch called me back & answered my questions. I had some follow-up questions & when I tried calling back 3 times over the next 10 days, I spoke with a corporate Customer Service Rep. Twice, they tried unsuccessfully to reach anyone at the local Marietta branch and left a message asking someone from the branch to call me back. I never got a call back. Once, the corporate Cust Svc said the representative at the branch answered but wouldn't answer the question, was rude to & and hung up on them. I just called again this morning regarding the upcoming appt to pick up medical equipment in two days. This time, the Corporate Cust Svc rep tried calling them twice (while I was on hold), and she was upset because the Rep at the Marietta location was very rude to & hung up on her. I told her to cancel my order. I am also letting my doctor know of my horrible experience & and suggesting he not refer his patients to this company anymore. I have been using Aerocare for several years, great service, automatically send my Cpap supplies when time comes. Having an issue lately with obtaining new machine, Doctor has sent prescription three times since August 2024, no mchine yet, now current machine says motor has exceeded life, so I am in an emergency situation and Aerocare still dragging their feet. Last contact was three weeks ago and was told scheduling would contact me, no contact. Will let my doctor know situation since I have heart issues and need my machine. read more

The hunt goes on for a mask that will allow me to actually start / use CPAP therapy. I'm really close to throwing in the towel. I'm leaving a detailed review with the hopes that someone at AeroCare will see this and provide me with some actual guidance / help. (Can't get a response through currently available channels) Yelp asks that we be careful about giving low scores to businesses if the reasons might be COVID19 driven. I debated about lowering my rating / review. Ultimately - COVID19 has changed the scope of HOW the respiratory therapists can do their jobs - BUT - it's been over a year - at this point - if a business can't 'pivot' and make accommodations to help patients - then reviews should reflect that. AeroCare is EXTREMELY hard to reach by phone & there is no message portal that allows you to send messages and they do not believe in sharing their email with patients. The logic being that the majority of their time is spent with actual patients - so they would never actually have time to respond to messages. But here's the thing. Because of COVID - they can no longer allow patients to physically try on masks - so the 'fitting' appt basically consists of them showing you a unit - briefly telling you a little bit about the unit - and that's it. Admittedly, I don't have a lot of experience with this - but if - because of COVID19, you're not spending time actually 'fitting' and letting patients try masks on - it seems as though your 'fitting' appointments should be extremely brief now. This should free up time for 'virtual' tasks - like messages. But nope! Instead - patients call and are patients get put on hold/ bounced to call center in another state / or have to leave messages - then get called back by a rep with no empathy or people skills - and listen to her as she rattles off very generic descriptions of masks Aerocare has in stock. Ultimately, I have tried SIX different masks now. I'm a stomach sleeper, and finding a mask that works is quite challenging. I sleep on my stomach with my head turned to right or left. And yes - I have tried to 'teach' myself to sleep on my back and side (I even purchased those 'special' pajamas). Here's what I've tried so far: A) Puritan Bennett Breeze SleepGear Nasal Pillow Mask. This one really shouldn't be on the list because it's been over 14 years, but I'm listing it because I have ALWAYS been a stomach sleeper and this mask worked perfectly. I'm so sad that the manufacturer discontinued it. I stopped using when my sleep apnea 'went away.' 1) ResMed AirFit™ P10 Nasal Pillows. The hose constantly wrapped around my neck and to add insult to injury - the nasal pillows (small) actually rubbed the insides of my nostrils raw. 2) Phillips Respironics DreamWear Gel Pillows Mask 1124984. I tried this mask next. I don't know if the pillows would have rubbed my nostrils raw because just one night was enough. It has a slit on the 'back' of the nose piece (instead of the little aerated / dissipated plate) and it shot an intense, aggressive stream of air at J when I turned my head left. If bunched the pillow or the covers close to my face - the stream of air became loud & noisy AND it hit me back in my face. 3) ResMed AirFit™ P30i. Another nasal pillow mask. But the hose goes from the top of your head instead of hanging down. The smallest nasal pillows were uncomfortable and kept slipping out from my nostrils. I thought - maybe I was wrong - that perhaps I need medium pillows (despite the therapist saying I needed small at my 'fitting') - so I tried medium and it became immediately clear that the medium pillows were MUCH too large. Lol. 4) Phillips Respironics DreamWear Full Face. This mask slipped around - a lot. I adjusted the straps / headgear until it was held firmly in place, but I woke up after 2 hours because my cheeks were actually throbbing from pressure. I also had deep indentations and some redness / contact dermatitis the next day. 5) ResMed AirFit™ N30i. Instead of pillows, the P30i has a silicone 'tube' nose piece with slits in it. The nose piece rests under your noise. I had high hopes for this one seeing as how the P30i headgear fit well. Unfortunately, the nose piece won't stay put on the N30i. I can adjust the headgear until it's actually pulling my nose upward (like a pig nose) but then I can't fall asleep due to the tension placed on my nose. 6) Phillips Respironics DreamWisp. The mask & headgear fit well - but when I put it on - I can hear air hissing from around the nose piece. I've re-ordered the nose piece with the hope that the first one was defective. When I got the survey from Aerocare I was trying to select 5 stars - He explained to me some other options for masks- I have the F20 but after seeing the F30 may be a better choice for me. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. My doctor really started the problem because she gave me two numbers for CPAP supplies and I thought it was the same company. Long story short, I placed an order with Aerocare and CANCELLED it the SAME day. They told me it was canceled. Well, I keep getting bills for supplies I have NOT received AND they keep billing my insurance company which is total insurance fraud. I have called them nine times about this problem (it started in January). I have also emailed them and replied to their text messages. Recently someone called me saying I owed them money for the supplies I've received. I told them no such thing has happened and I DON'T owe them money. They asked if I called billing... yes I have and they said that my balance was zero. I have now contacted Wellmark and a rep there has volunteered to sort this out for me, which is so nice of them. I wished the Wellmark person good luck because I can't image she will have any luck with it. read more

Poorest customer service ever. 1st overnight pulse oximeter ordered they insisted on a credit card for coverage, said it was to cover equipment if I didn't return it...like I have use for a overnight pulse oximeter machine! I have insurance & it has covered their bills every month. When I called for supplies they billed my credit card instead of my insurance and said I was on auto pay...My insurance had paid and I had to call multiple times to get my refund. They have not contacted within 2 weeks after any of the Dr. orders for more testing. They always say they have called me...but I never have missed calls or messages from them. I also have their numbers in my phone so their company would be identified...they have not called. The most recent Dr. order for overnight test, they didn't call within 2 weeks...I called them and left messages. They never called me back, but they did call my Dr and my husband and say I was not answering their calls. The Dr. office gave me a direct number to call. When a delivery was scheduled, I stayed home all day for the delivery...called at 4:50 to ask if they were coming...they said they they delivered until 7:30...they never showed and never called..Next day the response after I waited on hold for 45" was they didn't have the equipment that day...so why schedule a delivery? A phone call would have been nice. Do not use this company if you have any control or any choice in the matter...they were given to me with my discharge papers from the hospital so I did not get a say. read more

horrible company - no one will call you back - they hold you to un unrealistic standard of "compliance" to get resupplied through insurance. You basically use your brand new CPAP until all of the components that are meant to be replaced get so nasty that you can no longer use the machine because your are not "compliant" on usage. I basically just paid $950 to them for my machine to avoid collections and charge off because of this policy. I'll just purchase ny supplies through Amazon. Healthcare/Insurance fraud and incompetence are sometimes hard to distinguish from one another. This company told me for a year that they were processing new patients first before those who had a Phillips Respuronics recall need. That itself seemed improper (those in the recall are going to get a new machine eventually from Philips and thus likely not to rent for the full term so you can see why they would do this...$$). But they finally got to me and wanted me to come to a class...but settled on me coming in on a Sunday morning (bizarre no?). I was met by an incompetent who couldn't answer basic questions (like "Is the air filter double layer with a HEPA grade material so pollen and similar are removed?"). They FORCED me to provide a credit card despite my insurance showing I had paid my maximum out of pocket for the year. At the time I figured they needed "collateral" to give our this 1000$ machine. Oh no...more than that. They set it up for monthly autopay. Then less than 72 hours (almost 24 of those being weekend) later I am billed for 50+$ due 9 days from bill date with autopay for my credit card ON. No way insurance can process the claim that fast and pay them or indicate I owe something. It looks like they are double billing hoping some folks won't be smart aware enough to realize what's going on. They admitted to it with representative "Tish" (?overseas customer service? Regardless horrible and ignorant of how insurance contracting works) admitting we proactively bill patients and would refund if we get paid. BS!!! This should be illegal, if it isn't, and I'll admit I have no idea if they do get every refund done that should be done. But my advice is find another company. AdaptHealth or similar owns them and almost everyone else, so not sure we have a choice. Maybe try negotiating with insurance to buy your own. But if you must use them give them your credit card information and immediately lose your card and get a new number so they can't bill you through your credit card. I'm not suggesting YOU be sleazy like them...do pay your bills!! But only pay after insurance processes your claim and discounted price and benefits are applied and you have an EOB (Explanation if Benefits) in hand to show what insurance negotiated rate is and what they paid. NEVER PAY THEM UPFRONT!!! I also had an allergic reaction and called to find out their "advice" (they really are not medically educated at all!) and got no call back in a day and they told me incorrect information regarding mask components I think (until I can reach company I won't know. They took wrapping off the mask and didn't include it. Also ask them to wear fresh gloves before they touch anything that's going onto your face and that you'll be breathing in. It is flu season and COVID isn't over and they were not taking good precautions and there is often manufacturing dusts....so wash before initial use. They don't deserve one star..... read more

CPAP machines have become critical to those with Sleep Apnia but AeroCare/ Adapthealth/Carmichael (one business with three names depending upon who you speak with) makes it extremely difficult to get insurance to cover the machine and are not forthcoming on their billing or customer support practices. My replacement Airsense 10 was a replacement of the former Airsense 10 (aged out). Though the Airsense 11 is avaialbe they were out of stock of the 11 due to Philips' sudden recall. My old 10 had wireless reporting cababilities but the "new" one doesn't so I had been informed that that I needed to remove the chip in it and bring this to the local office in Loganville. When informed of this I took an hour out of my work day to bring this in by 4:30 PM. They processed me by 5 PM and I was good to go. I asked if they needed anything else and we told no, they were good. Since then I have been charged for a monthly sum for accessories (nasal cushion, headstrap, mask) with insurance covering a portion. However, the machine and humidifier was billed without insurance. I've been struggling to understand why one and not the other being processed with insurance. I've been in touch each month and no one has addressed this. I just got off the phone and I am ready to go to a provider for a new machine and drop this one in the mail for full refund. read more

After months of waiting I finally received my hospital bed, it was broken. The delivery guy knew it was broken and even provided a hand crank to lower the part that wasn't responding to the remote. Fast forward to 3 more months of waiting the new bed comes and is also not working properly. Again, the delivery guy was aware before leaving the residence that the bed was malfunctioning. This company has used Covid-19 as an excuse for far too long. My husband has Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and is on oxygen 24/7. They are only allowing delivery of 2 etanks every 7 days. Therefore if you run out in the meantime you cannot leave your home. They have told me that they cannot get more tanks from the manufacturers because the demand is so high. Tanks have been ordered but aren't expected to be delivered until March 2022! This companies vision is too shortsighted. They should have started ordering more supplies back in early 2020. In addition, my husband requires a high flow soft cannula which they are unable to supply. They are telling us that they can't get them from their supplier. However, I am able to order them from Amazon but must pay out of pocket instead of having them covered by insurance. What a disappointment. If you need oxygen or other medical supplies, please check around and find a company that can truly service your needs. Good luck! read more

They are trying to charge me $650 for the CPAP machine plus another $87 for what I don't know. Every where else is way lower. Last time I reported the service was awful - no call back and very difficult to talk with but I called again, reached someone different who was very helpful. She understood immediately what I needed and had a technician call me back - even told me what time to expect the call. He called back as promised and fixed my problem. this company is absolutely ridiculous. My fiancé was prescribed a CPAP for extreme sleep apnea. He was told he would hear from this company to get fitted for the machine 2 weeks after his diagnosis. After almost 3 weeks we called the company and they told us they had nothing on him. After talking to several different people they finally found his information and scheduled his fitting for a week later. They then changed the appointment FOUR TIMES without telling us anything. He would drive halfway there and would call and be told his appointment was rescheduled. the employees we spoke with were VERY rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to have to speak with us. Sleep apnea can be deadly and we have lost family members to it. We were taking it very seriously and trying to be proactive and this company did not seem to care about his well being. customer service is awful! my dad's oxygen concentrator went down so i called in to have someone come out to repair seeing it was emergency. well... after calling 6 times 5 hrs later i finally reached someone that helped me. thanks to roz and kelly. the tech earl brown that finally came out was awesome. ann in customer service didn't even notate my dads account and wasn't friendy. the answering service didn't make a ticket and i called them twice. all the company cares about is money. they wouldn't allow me to call in to report the machine being down without speaking to billing because he had a small balance. horrible company !!!! read more

I had trouble getting staff to understand that I needed a travel concentrator and needed to know how to get one delivered to my vacation address. The techs are friendly and delivery of services is easy. The staff could be more knowledgeable about the services. After several calls that failed to result in success, I finally lucked onto Chantal, who knew exactly what I needed and made it happen very quickly. I couldn't belie it,,,one call today and it will be delivered in another state tomorrow! Kudos to her; she saved me from changing to another provider in my frustration. read more

I would not recommend this company for medical supplies. They are very unprofessional and incompetent. They seem to have a difficult time responding to clients and continue to loose documentation that is provided to them from the doctors office. I have never experienced a company that was unable to there job effectively. The staff that I have had to speak with has been rude and not very knowledgeable. The company that supplies the equipment to them has stated that they do not return phone calls to them as well and they are very difficult to work with. This is so unfortunate for a company not to be able to provide the services that their clientele need with in a professional and timely matter. They need to step up and take accountability for the unprofessional staff and not handling their business in a timely fashion.
