Penzey's Spices - Penzeys

Penzey's is one of few stand alone spice shops around Atlanta…read more Sure you can go to BFM, DFM and other ethnic grocers and they are all good, but they are not as comprehensive for spices. When I need to restock many or certain seasonings, I find it's easier and faster to go to ALL things SPICES like Penzey's. Although national and online shop to most, Atlanta is lucky to have this brick and mortar. In fact, it's the only store in Georgia. I've been frequenting PS for a decade. ++ Ambiance is small spices and herbs only shop. Pleasant, well lit and for a spice shop, their fragrance is NOT overpowering. ++ Spices, herbs and blended seasonings can be had here. Often, I find harder to find and better quality herbs and spices here. They carry a variety of cinnamons, vanillas, and peppers to choose from. Their ginger is the most fragrant of all I've found around Atlanta and count on them having cardamom, nutmeg, Tellicherries and Singapore seasoning. I have come to Penzey's prior to Thanksgivings for their sage and X-mases for their cocoa. Often, they have promotions for complimentary samples with purchases to discover new flavors like Rogan Josh. The owner apparently is still very hands on and decides on all of the spices being sold. Recently, thyme has been difficult to locate at grocers, but I found it here. + Prices are higher than average. ++ Service is pleasant, prompt by knowledgeable staff. Pro tip: Consider opting OUT of their email specials. The owner insists on bombarding his political views to customers who sign up for their newsletter / specials. I opted out of it and just check their specials before I visit. + Parking is shared in a busy shopping center shared with TJ's and Foxy's. Happy to have Penzey's in Atlanta and their service level is still very good! If you have a home chef, pit-master or a baker, they likely would love a gift-card from Penzey's.

Yes, they are pricy but to up my cooking I'll always use them. Their Mural of Flavor, FoxPoint, French Four Spice, & Vanilla Sugar are our favorites !! Mural of Flavor put in everything that needs flavor with less salt. French Four Spice put in a Kale Sausage Soup. Foxpoint OMG that's my kid's favorite !! On eggs, it's the best !! I also mix with butter and put it in mashed potatoes. Vanilla Sugar is AWESOME on popcorn !!! Our FAVORITE! Funny how these snowflakes are mad because owner calling out truths. I'll always love Penzey's.

I highly recommend The Spice and Tea Exchange in Chattanooga for those connoisseurs of fine teas,…read morecreative tea blends, and unique, gourmet spices. For those seeking tools for tea preparation and serving, you'll find a noteworthy assortment of tools here, too. You can tell how much passion and dedication has been put into the products sold here. The staff have also been very helpful and knowledgeable in any product I've had a question about. I enjoy visiting mainly for their teas, but I have also been impressed by their large selection of delicious spices and infused sugars. They also offer a Tea Bar. You can order and enjoy a fresh brewed tea while you shop or just take it to go. A year prior,  I became addicted to a seasonally offered tea blend; their banana nut muffin herbal tea. It's so good! On a recent visit, I learned that they actually carry the tea blend for their Tea Bar. I am so happy that I was able to enjoy a cuppa of my favorite tea without having to wait for Fall to roll around. This place has become one of my favorite establishments in the area. Go check them out!

Stopped by while I'm town visiting friends because sadly there isn't a location in Atlanta. The employee that helped us was incredibly kind and made great recommendations based on what we were looking for. I got the Beauty Rest sleepy time tea per her recommendations and I am obsessed! They also carry my all time favorite matcha powder, the Sweet Matcha. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious and I can't wait to come back in town and stock up.

Drove 45 minutes to this location and asked to use the bathroom as I'd been in the car for a long…read moretime. Was told bathroom was not allowed to be used by customers and that I might try the dentist next door "if they're open"...this is a Sunday, of course they're not open! Neither was the place next to it, so I was faced with a choice...wet myself, or go against a tree in public. I was so SHOCKED AND HUMILIATED I vowed to never step into a Vitamin Shoppe again, and drove another six miles to a Sprouts, where I purchased $112 in vitamins and supplements. Your store probably could have used that sale, as it was completely empty. I've been to plenty of other Vitamin Shoppes and used the bathroom before...what is so precious about the Acworth location???

You didn't even use the handicap space infront of your own place of work. The only reason I know this is because I had to take someone in my house for a emergency visit to the dentist. Instead of going inside, I sat in my car. Especially during this time of social distancing, just to be polite. This guy was parked in the spot for over 45 min! During this time I watched an actual handicap person park in a normal spot a walk, instead of being super lazy and rude. Unlike the empoyee who is wasn't actually working that day but kept going behind the counter while his "cool sports car" was parked in a handicap space. Your a less then awesome person.
