The help available is mixed as some were friendly and helpful, others not at all, although wait time for help was generally unreasonable (hours at times to respond) Therapy is a 2-3 star. Food was awful and if family member can't feed themselves, too bad for them.. Had experience with Symphony and Aerius, and while accommodations were more polished here than at Symphony, the rest is well below others in all areas and that's saying something. There are several things which desperately need attention. The parking lot would look MUCH BETTER if management would invest in getting it repaved. When you walk in, there is a visitor's lounge which has a badly worn chair in need of replacement. Hallways and common areas are clean and (mostly) odor free. Patients have a great selection of DirecTV channels they can watch. My disabled sister is unhappy that the bathroom is small and there's no room for a shower. She shares the half-bath with the incontinent Alzheimer's patient next door and her smell is extremely noticeable! My sister has to keep the door closed in order for her room not to stink. I noticed that the nurse forgot about my sister's afternoon medication in error. It came 2 hours late. I wanted to watch my sister's physical therapy session. Sadly, the PT department doesn't work on weekends. Rooms need updating. My sister's room looks like where Mike Brady would be if he was sick!!! Retro 70's decor.

I asked to speak to the manager and she threatened to call the police if I did not leave the building!!! She refused to tell me where my mom was too!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! My brother put her in this disgusting place without my knowledge, and even after I provided Forestview with a court order showing I was entitled to know about my mom's healthcareand obviously her whereabouts they still refused to comply. Her room was disgustingly dirty. We found all kinds of debris on the sink in the bathroom on the floors on the walls. Her bedding and her clothes were soiled when we came to visit her. We had to tell the staff they needed to clean her up on more than one occasion, and to clean her room up on every occasion. She fell multiple times at this facility and their solution was to put her in a wheelchair bound room, and when she was in there to remove her walker. So she fell in her own room and smashed her head and broke her hip because she had no way to get to the bathroom and nobody was answering her calls to help her. This place needs to be investigated by the state of Michigan and closed. They do not care about their residents. They treat them like they're not even human! Within a year of her fall, she had passed away from being wheelchair bound for the rest of her life. The large contusion on her head remained for the rest of her life from that fall.

I found Magnum online, these guys got a Dr to do a house visit that afternoon, thank God because he was on blood thinning medication, they set him up on a lower dose of warfarin, got a nurse to come visit him twice a week to make sure he was reacting ok to the med dosage and also got a physical therapist to come to his house twice a week! He is doing 100% better now, able to leave his house when he wants and seems a lot healthier after the medication change. The physical therapist helped him to be able to exercise on his own and strengthen himself to be able to do household chores and his hobbies, I can't thank you guys enough, he really feels independent and happy again! Thanks guys!!!

Years ago, when it was the Allen Park Convalescent Home, my grandmother was a patient. At that time, residents were well cared for. That was not the case for my sister. The doctor did not see her often enough. Nursing staff often ignored patient call bells. There were several occasions when my sister could not get her needs taken care of in a timely manner. I know that not every family has the same experience, but I do not recommend that anyone put a parent, grandparent, or other relative in this facility. As a result of staff neglect, my sister is now back in the hospital. Her bloodwork revealed a dangerously low level of potassium, among other things. She would not be in this condition had she been properly cared for.
