When I contacted the company for a return and to re-order the correct item, I was told this (copied and pasted directly from their email to me): Before you go ahead with a return, we want to make sure you're aware of the significant costs and logistics involved. Since our items are made and shipped from our manufacturing partners overseas, returning them means international shipping and customs processing, and unfortunately, those fees add up quickly. Return costs typically include: $25 to $55 USD in transport charges $28 to $72 USD in customs clearance fees These can vary depending on the weight of your parcel, but in many cases, they end up being more than the refund itself. I was under the impression that I was doing business with a US company...however, their goods are outsourced overseas. BEWARE this company!! Date of experience: 04 August 2025

My friend and I were walking down Broad Street in downtown Charleston on Sunday morning (playing…read moretourist in the hometown we've lived now for almost 30 years), and we happened upon The Boutique. From the exterior, it appeared to be a cute shop that may house potential presents for the upcoming holidays. We stopped in, and we were NOT pleasantly surprised. Although there were some items that could be purchased as gifts, the majority of them were overpriced and irrelevant for people of our demographic (young, modern, not extremely wealthy professionals). If you're looking for high end, porcelain figurines, fine bone China, or linens, you might find something here that you would like. But make sure you wear your best and have dressed the part, because as we stumbled into the store, we quickly realized we were not the clientele the store employees were looking for. We were hardly greeted by any of the women working and our every move was closely monitored as we walked through the store. Quite frankly, it was odd, and this is the primary the purpose of the current review. As we walked out of the store, my friend said, "Have a good day!" and the woman literally said, "Okay" with literally zero inflection or even fake southern charm. Those were essentially the only words spoken to us the entire time we were there (~7 minutes). I won't be returning, but I do hope others have better luck. The store has potential should the demeanors of employees improve.

In store I only wanted to purchase a pair of jeans which was $45.17 after the use of one of the torrid cash. Separate from the instore purchase I was "supposed" to make and online order that was going to be shipped to my apartment here in Charleston. But I told the store manager that because previously I had issues with my address on file (I recently moved from Atlantic city, and prior to that was from Delaware) I was not sure which address was on file. She ASSURED me that it would be fine and the purchase would go through. So she rang up my in store purchase first which went through perfectly then the online one which did not go through due to an address issue. So she had me try MULTIPLE TIMES! Until my torrid credit card (which at the time did not have a balance, which also had a 900 credit limit) declined. The store manager asked if I was sure I had money on my card. Which was very unprofessional. At that time I checked the balance on my card to see all the pending transactions. So she asked if I had a different form of payment for the online. I asked if there was anyway to avoid this if we could just have my online items shipped to the store. She said no because everything was already in the system as ship to home. So she took a gift card and loaded $79.39 onto it and I used my personal credit card and the payment went through immediately onto the gift card. Once the money was on the gift card she tried to use it and the gift card kept saying inactive. So she called help desk and she told me that they said she had to figure out the issue on her own. Which in my opinion was weird. Also where is my money? She then called someone else to help which I am not sure then sent an email. Nothing ever happened on the 13th. So I walked out with only a pair of jeans and my missing almost $80. She took down my information kept the inactive gift card and told me to stop in the next day and speak to Brionna her ASM. When I stopped in the next day and spoke to Brionna she had no idea what was going on and the store manager wasn't even there. Thankfully Adelle was there and has walked in on the backend of everything happening. They had to retrace the steps from the previous day. When they reached out to the store manager she told Brionna that she had given ME the inactive gift card which makes 0 sense because it's inactive and doesn't work!!! So again they couldn't do anything they took down my information for the second time and told me they would email someone and get back to me. On the 23th of October I stopped back in because I still hadn't heard anything and Brionna and Adelle were in and immediately Brinna called the DM and got the authorization to give me my money back. Even though the experience was AWFUL I appreciate workers like Brianna and Adelle. They were able to make the experience less awful. I still haven't heard anything from the store manager and haven't seen her since the 13th.

Brought my friend who is pretty busty and she couldn't fit anything which is a little bit... ridiculous. I would love to see same styles a little longer and more grown up. Love the prints, prices, and such. Anything that is a traditional fit (which I'm defining as something I could wear to brunch with my kids or parents) the sizes sell out instantly. I would say that's solid feed back for the owners that they need more options that have bit more appeal for the average woman and maybe even a couple options for larger sizes most if not all only go up to large and the large is often times more akin to a medium. If they wish to corner the market on college type girl style I think they successfully do it. I took of a point because although I will still continue to shop here... i occasionally get lucky, I would hesitate to bring another friend in as options are fairly limited. Get in the text chain from website for flash sales ( although don't wait if you see your size they literally sell out so fast)

I've emailed them more than once on this issue, originally just asking for an update on when my order would be shipped. I have received no response whatsoever, yet they post on their instagram dozens of times a day on their story. The email I have been contacting is the exact email that is associated with their confirmation emails when you place an order, it is not a no reply email. It even says in the confirmation email to contact it or reply with any questions. So either that's a lie and no one monitors the email, or they're flat out ignoring my concerns over my order that I paid for. Either way, I am extremely disappointed. Examples like these are what make it harder to support certain small businesses over major corporations.
