Zero stars. Only chose 1 because I didn't have the option of leaving it blank.
This 'company' is trash. Anyone can take some little classes to be able to add some letters after their name and call themselves some sort of professional. Just like any scumbag can get a license to sell lemons...and that is exactly what this guy is, the used car salesman of his worthless 'services'.
This guy was on a list given to me by VASAP. I was asked to get an assessment as part of my ASAP program because I was convicted of a first-offense DUI. I knew nothing of this process, but he had the lowest price for the assessment so I went with him. [cash only - first red flag]. He actually chased me down, calling me/texting me every other day after we first spoke for a couple of weeks while I called around the rest of the places on the referral list. [clearly needed the 'business' - 2nd red flag].
I made the 'appointment' with him...he had me meet him in the dusty basement of a church. He met me wearing dirty sweatpants and a crusty hoodie, smelling like must and cigarettes. [3rd, and most important red flag]. Like I said I knew nothing of this process, figured this must be what this is all about, and since I was already there and knew I did not have an alcohol problem, let me deal with it and keep it moving.
He had me sit on this couch that smelled like a fentanyl overdose and looked at me judgingly while he told me about myself like he already knew everything about me. I've met the type plenty of times in my life, Mr. 'D' swinging contest...so I just let him have his ego trip. I explained my situation after he finished his 'psychic reading' and then the paperwork began.
He asked me questions, I answered them, I watched him fill out bubbles on his bubble sheet. Then I was handed a stack of papers to fill out while he sat there quietly staring out the window as if contemplating life. Apparently that's part of his act. After a few minutes he looked at me and told me 'I'm going to do you a favor...I'm going to give you a gift. Instead of the standard, I'm only going to suggest 16 weeks of treatment....and I'll give you a discount.' The prices he spat out did not match up to the prices listed on his website, and he also said that I would be the last person he was going to offer this to, being as his prices were going up after the 1st of the year. To further making me know that he's doing a favor he did the ol' lean in and mutter out of the side of his mouth 'don't you F'ing tell ANYBODY I'm doing this for you. Naw mean?'
I giggled on the inside because I felt like I was in a Chappelle's show sketch and this guy can't be serious. He even went as far as to tell me he's contracted by the military to work with soldiers...I pray that statement was only a part of his grift.
He pulled out a pre-printed paper that had the 16-week treatment schedule already printed on it. He must have used his psychic abilities to know before I came that I would only need 16 weeks of his gift treatments. He showed me his calendar and asked me to pick a day to come in for my first treatment. Let me correct myself...he showed me his, empty, calendar. I humored him and picked a day. Then I left and immediately called my ASAP case manager to get a 2nd opinion and...well...they were already expecting my call.
I texted him to cancel our appointment and let him know I would not be requiring his services. The response of messages back from him reminded me of when I broke up with my gf in high school. I was embarrassed for him.
I found another place, a professional medical center...that takes insurance, and within an hour I was told exactly what I already knew, I didn't need any treatment, just to finish my ASAP classes and learn from this experience.
I certainly wish I had done my research on this business before I wasted my money. I just wrote it off as a charitable expense, hopefully, he'll use it to dry clean the crust off of his business sweatsuit, and enroll in acting classes.
There is more I could add but I think I've said enough...I hope this helps anyone, and best of luck. Everyone makes mistakes, this guy will try to make you feel like you're the only one. read more
