I just started a business and I'm unfortunately not very happy with what I was told. I needed a lens hood for how I want to shoot, but was refused 3 times. I was told buy filters, my schooling taught me otherwise. They were a little rude and quite arrogant. Hopefully they get their act together and I don't have to go to Calgary for equipment anymore. I'm unsure of the professional education level of the employees, and it makes me uncomfortable to buy equipment or get advice from people who are self taught and are giving advice based around personal bias.

When I first contacted Samuel & Virginie SV Photograph, it seemed like everything would work out…read moregreat. The date that they were in town worked, liked their work, they were approachable at first. A day later they wanted to meet at almost midnight my time and when I said that wasn't going to work because I had to get up in the morning. They said fine maybe Friday at 1pm. I said i would check my work schedule and they said that was fine. The next morning, i got a series of snarky text messages including one saying they reserve the right to refuse a shoot. So I had been set on them but they were so moody, i figured that I better keep my options open. So i contacted some other photographers where I out lined the pictures I was looking for. So i forwarded the email so that we were all on the same page about what I was looking for. They sent me a long email ending with but if you like our work, we would be happy to do the shoot that day just get back to us Tuesday about times you would like to meet. So I wrote the date they were available and committed to $400 in renovations to the room I wanted to use, bought new curtains that let the light in, white bedding and and accent chair because they don't have a studio here. Tuesday I messaged them with all the times we could meet and even traded one of my shifts to accommodate Friday at 1pm which they had originally quoted. Half way through the day, I get a text message saying they didn't think it would work out because of something I'd said in the email (which was totally misinterpreted) but they didn't take the time to clarify, just made a knee jerk decision based on something that wasn't even relevant to them. So now I'm out $1000 and they cancelled because of a misunderstanding in their reading comprehension. From were I'm standing they look like to use-to-be good photographers that don't want to work or take their clients needs into consideration and pick apart every communication so that things don't work out instead of working with their client. They are so whimsical that they promote themselves, make a verbal agreement and then take the choice away from the client without meeting them. If clients are desperate enough for a photographer that puts their clients needs second and cancel without warning leaving you stuck with a bill for venu, then you should pick these two. The processing time was speedy and they even unexpectedly gave us a hard covered photo book. Their wonderful photos they took reside all around our house till this day - excellent quality. They worked within our budget and very reasonable. We we'll definitely use their services again in the future.
