I have been getting my eyes checked regularly and they haven't changed in over a decade. So they are now withhold contacts /glasses if I don't get my routine eye check up. So now I have to walk around unable to see because I can't get more contacts and have no way of booking an apt any time soon for a check up due to financial hardships. I feel like withholding a product because you didn't get your regular eye check up is ridiculous and extremely unfair. Especially for someone who goes regularly and has not had any change. Very frustrating and seems to be a gimmick to get more money out of you. I informed the lady working reception of my concerns and she informed me that she didn't want to deal with the situation/didn't know how and basically avoided all of my concern's. Informed me she would get someone else to call me back (which did not happen) and I am now left to scramble and find another eye doctor and figure out how I am going to manage not being able to see until I can afford an apt at another eye doctors office. When we needed a new washing machine (which they don't carry) they put us in touch with the Picture Butte store which has everything and just as nice staff, we got our washer. If more stores could find staff like those at these two stores their businesses would really improve. We just wish they carried lumber at the Lethbridge store too.

I wasn't pressed into purchasing a new battery but when I heard the price, he switched them out and I was out in about ten minutes. He said things like 'you're in luck! We have some!' Or 'even better, this one is less than I quoted you' Years ago, I brought in a battery for an electric bike. The staff recognized what it was and I wasn't even through the doors when he came to take it from me. He explained to me the expected life of the battery and how best to store it in the winter. One of their staff even added a tidbit on cell phone batteries and how to get the best life out of one. I recommend anyone to see them about any battery needs.

My wife works in healthcare so the owner had some recommendations that really made the ring come together and not interfere with her work. Little modifications so gloves don't tear when you put them on, making sure her hair never gets caught on the ring, little things like that. Every time I came to the store front I was met with smiles, you can really tell all the employees love their jobs and want nothing but the best for their customers. At the first design meeting I was up front about my budget, and the owner was very respectful and diligent when designing the ring around my budget. It was never brought up a second time. This made the process very enjoyable and stress free as I new exactly how much everything was going to cost. The owner went out of her way to order custom cut diamonds from New York that where so beautiful she bought them knowing that type of diamond doesn't come around very often. After the fact I can come into the store front when ever is most convenient for me and they will clean my wife's ring and give it a quick once over, if there is anything less than perfect they take care of it right away! If you want to spend your hard earned money on a local, multi generational family business, that provides the highest standard of service, provides the highest standard of product, who genuinely takes care of their customers, then Tomkins is a no brainer.
