No matter what the husband or his lawyer said or the proof they provided, the judge openly said to the husband "I don't believe you". I wasn't impressed at all.

They had our furnace and vents cleaned--and stole my iPod Touch from the top of the dresser where I had left it that morning before rushing to work. My husband was at home but did not follow the Direct Energy workers from room to room. While I realized that getting my iPod back was not likely, I phoned a Direct Energy supervisor, who took weeks to ever get back to me--to suggest that I had misplaced my iPod and it would turn up! (It hasn't because it was stolen). So if Direct Energy is coming to clean your furnace, hide your valuables and watch the workers closely.

Currently it is used as the office of the mayor & alderman, it is the architectural focal point of the City Hall complex that consists of 2 later additions. It was built in 1911 with a 4 story extension in 1962. The Municipal Building was added in 1985 and is a massive wedge-shaped, mirrored-glass structure. Its located on the eastern edge of the Central Business District, across from Olympic Plaza & the Stephen Avenue pedestrian Mall, forming the civic focal point of the city. In 1984, Calgary City Hall was designated a national historic site because it is the only surviving regional example of the monumental civic halls erected in several Prairie cities before 1930; and its lofty clock tower, prominent round-arched entry and extensive decoration in the Romanesque Revival style made it an imposing visual symbol of community progress.

Absolutely ridiculous service…read more Considering Canada's residential culture right now, there is more bias toward tenants. My hearing today proved all of that. I was short of a few days of giving me tenant enough time to move out early. Thus all my damages and counterclaim was set aside. In summary: The tenants moved in. We said no pet ownership. They agreed. We went back 5 months later. There were two cats. Damaged furniture. The property smelled like feline feces and urine. We told them to move. They said yes, signed by paper. We use the deposit to clean the place up. They sued us to get it back. We filed back to explain ourselves. The adjudicator dismissed up completely, now we have to pay the tenants. The most outrageous? When I asked if I could say more before they issued the decision, I was told to be quiet, to not appeal to save myself time and effort, and hung up without even a final statement. Even without the law, consider the reasoning behind this. I have to pay for not only the damages done to my house, but also look for another tenant willing to live in a smelly basement. Plus, I have to give them money for destroying my home? Canada, what happened? Yes, tenants are suffering, though so are landlords. We pay tax, raise children, work tons of hours, take care of our neighbors and pay our mortgage. Landlords are drowning in debt and payments just like everyone else. My suggestion if you even have a rental issue? Sue your tenant first to not get taken advantage of, prepare your evidence, read the Alberta Tenancies Act, and be ready for anything. Hire a lawyer if you can afford it. Since this adjudicators will be more bias than you expect. Thank you, good luck to all who have to deal with this mindless organization.

What angered me was, the tenant damaged my property, did not clean my property after they moved out, breached the Residential Tenancies Act and/or the Tenancy Agreement by moving out of my property with only one week's informal notice, and didn't pay the rest of the rent for that month. The decision RTDRS officer made was based on the fact that I didn't give her a formal 3 month notice to end a month-to-month tenancy (I did give her about two and half month notice, and she made her decision to move out after one month she received my notice), and the order says I need to cover her moving expenses, plus the cleaning fee she paid to her new landlord after she moved out of her new rental property which I think is ridiculous! On the other hand, the officer dismissed my claims for the property damages and cleaning cost because I don't have an inspection report because of COVID. He also dismissed my claim for the half month rent that the tenant supposed to pay me. Very very disappointed!!
