Thanks a bunch Mark! I dropped in today to get some help with the security keys on my off gird. Mark came right out and handled the issue. I bought my Yakima rack set up at Adventures Edge. Feels great knowing I can stop in anytime and get the same stellar service and care I received when I purchased it. Rock on AEE!! read more

Everything always goes well at The Edge & great relations go back 25 years... I think we are at least 7+ bikes in our family 4 from the Edges in Arcata & Eureka CA & two kayaks & all kinds of paraphernalia. read more

I called a few days ago to inquire about having a punctured tire replaced on one bike and a brake repaired on another bike. They told me to bring them in. I wasn't expecting them to finish so quickly, but within an hour, they called to tell me they were done. I was really pleased with the friendliness of the techs I interacted with. The price was lower than I expected. Thanks! You will be my first choice for my bike needs going forward! read more

These two stores are everything a sports store wants to be but these guys deliver. I can't say enough about their selections, the value, and the service. Their bike shop is fully stocked. We bought cycling shoes and they changed out the cleats for us, and I found a funky pair of shoes for myself. They also gave us lots of different road bikes routes to try. Very nice people. read more

I bought Specialized Rockhopper Expert today. I got great customer service from entire team, one person was exceptionally great, manager Chris. Thank you so much for taking care of my needs. You need bike, go to this store. Incredible people, large inventory. read more

You probably don't know how good you have it. Lived in Arcata and this was my bike shop. I did try to "share the love" a bit and support other bike shops--but, these guys were where I went when I really needed something. Long story short, I moved away about 7 years ago. Currently live in Sacramento area. Have a problem with my bike (missing chain ring bolts) that are special SRAM parts. Visited two bike shops who have been helpful in the past--Nope, don't have em. Called three other shops--Nope, don't have em. One shop told me they wouldn't be available to order until June. The other said they could "probably have them for me in July!" Called Adventure"s Edge--"oh yeah, we have those, but can't ship them until Monday. Hmm, I guess I'll have to wait two days then. . .Thanks AE! Did I mention I moved away SEVEN YEARS AGO? And I had to spend an extra two minutes on the phone to get my address updated in their system. My advice? Go here first! read more

Stopped in here on our road trip and these guys were awesome. Cullen hooked us up w Trail beta, and Hernan w a quick bike tune without the typical bike shop "bro" mentality! We will be back! read more

these folks went above and beyond for some service on my bike recently! Excellent Service!

This place and their staff has been A+ on every single visit. Informative. Helpful. Respectful. Overall great service. Took two bikes for tune-ups. Bought a roof rack and got it installed. No issues. Constant communication on timeline too. read more

Great customer service. Their mechanics changed part replacements, on most occasions, on the same day. They also have a great inventory on bikes and other recreational needs. read more

Oh it is generally extremely expensive I find everything to be of great high-quality. Their tent selection is not for the light of pocket either. read more

This is by far the best place to get all of your adventure gear! They truly have it all and everyone at the store is so helpful. They helped me pick out the perfect kayak and Thule rack system and put the rack on my car (for free!) They offer student discounts if you have your student ID which is extremely helpful and much appreciated. If something is out of stock they're willing to get it from their Arcata location and/or order it online for you. Overall Adventure's edge is a great place with great people and they have gear for it all! read more

Had an issue with my bike rack while traveling through Humboldt and Adventure's Edge was super helpful. Didn't have time to shop in what looked like a great store but super appreciative they helped save our trip! read more

We are new to Eureka. When we first got here, I needed a new helmet. Adventure's Edge had a great selection, and Chris was very helpful. A few days later, we had our 3 bikes stolen from the RV park we are staying in. We went back to Adventure's Edge to replace the 2 mountain bikes. Again, they had a great selection, and my wife and I each found a great replacement. While ringing us up, Chris gave us a very nice discount. He didn't have to do it, but it sure made replacing our stolen bike a little less painful. Today, while driving down 4th st., I saw a guy riding one of my stolen mountain bikes. I was able to get it back but had no way to transport it home. I called Adventure's Edge, and Chris drove out to me and transported my bike back to his shop. It is so nice to find a business that cares about it's customers. read more

Don't go to any other outdoor store. This is the best one. Super knowledgable staff. Friendly but not too friendly. Local & experienced people who love the outdoors as much as I do. You can also trust they are investing profits into the community they service. So much better than REI or any corporate alternative. Arcata store is just as good. read more

Everybody that works here is very amazing and very helpful they are kind they are not assholes especially Chris the bike technician and Hernan anytime I have any type of struggle or anything they are right there to help me out no matter what I mean they could be a little busy at time but they always make time to make sure that the customer is always satisfied and I don't know not one time I've been here in this county but they have ever denied me or said that they can never help me out I would recommend this place to anybody for any type of sports activity/biking or anything because they are very helpful very reliable and I can depend on them if I have any questions or any concerns thank you very much for all your hard generous work read more

Awesome bike shop. Everybody was super friendly and the mechanic was very knowledgeable and professional. I walked into another local bike shop and it seemed like I was bugging them. I'm not from here and took my bike out for a ride and got caught in the rain. I walked in and they were immediately welcoming even though I was wet, and their mechanic even cleaned my bike regardless of the weather conditions and lubed my chain. I bought all my bikes from Santiago Cycling in Tustin because they're the best, but out here in Eureka these guys take that spot. read more

I bought my bike here over a year ago and had great service! I just recently returned to get a tune up and they absolutely knocked it out the park! They were able to get rid of the ticking and the bike feels brand new again, highly recommend this shop! read more

I appreciate the kayaking knowledge and friendliness from Cullen and the rest of the staff!

Was on a motorcycle trip from WA to UT. Stopped in to get some recommendations on camping in the area. Staff was great friendly and referred me to a great place camp. Walking around the store saw that they were pretty well stocked with camping, backpacking, and climbing gear. If I had more space on my bike, I would have bought some stuff :) read more

The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced!!! I walked in planning to buy quite a few things, but the second I walked in the sales associates were rude, unfriendly and followed me around like I was goimg to steal something. I tried asking questions about a few items and they were short with me and rude. I was looking at a product next to the counter and all the employees could talk about was personal issues instead of helping me. Was SO disgusted I left, never plan on coming back and I also plan on letting everyone know how awful this store is full of pompus, rude employees!!!! read more

A wonderful outdoors store with even better staff. My boyfriend and I stopped in to buy some outdoor equipment that had been stolen, and they offered us a doughnut and great advice about equipment and hiking in the Redwoods. We would stop by more often if only we lived closer! read more

Without a doubt the best outdoor store in North West California. I am a long distance UL/SUL/XUL hiker and visit here on a regular basis to buy gear, check out the new gear, ask questions about gear, and sometimes just to chat with their knowable staff. Every serious hiker I know in Humboldt County shops at the Eureka Adventure's Edge - that should pretty much say it all. read more

Always friendly, good selection of gear for the size of the store, fairly reasonable prices for the area. A friend of mine and I noticed we had the same brand new steel camping cups, I paid $9.99 at Adventures Edge, he paid $18 at Wal-Mart! True Story! We got a good laugh out of the that one. read more

Returning to Eureka after fifteen years was a trip. Gone is quaint, accommodating Eureka, now a mass of strip malls and bumper to bumper traffic. Somewhere hidden is HSU and I couldn't even find the Coop - one of the classic pit stops in the history of hip California. Nonetheless, there are traces which remain. On the dark side, the disgraceful train of logging trailers, bedecked with the corpses of more worthy elders, and, on the other hand, Adventure's Edge - the best camping and cycling store in Northern California. Don't let the square footage fool you, unlike huge box stores and their derivatives - THEY HAVE WHAT YOU NEED - at high quality and terrific value - and offer a wide price range where it counts. Best of all, truly friendly, superlative, knowledgeable customer service. You really can't do better than Adventure's Edge for your survival needs. read more

Bought a tire mounted bike rack for my Jeep for an upcoming move and the sales staff, especially Ryan, was incredibly helpful and even helped install it! Ryan took the time to explain it's features and how it works. Couldn't have asked for better customer care and service. Thanks, Adventure's Edge! read more

Touring down the coast with my dad and wanted to get the crunchy gears checked out on my Trek 720. Because of the short notice repair, I was really excited about giving these folks a good review. They ended up taking apart the wheel and rebuilding the Heliochromatic hub using inappropriately matched cones and bearings. In passing it off between mechanics and not taking the time to make sure it actually worked, we got about 50 miles out of Eureka to find bearings popping out and the wheel wobbling so badly it hit the brakes going up our first big hill. Waaaay worse off then if we wouldn't have gone!! ***Touring Folks Going South***: Eureka is THE LAST town with bike repair shops until Fort Bragg. Hitchhiking back into town and losing a day because of crappy repair jobs is not what you want. Aloof sales people made our business seem like an inconvenience and incompetent repair service solidified that the feeling is mutual. Go the extra couple blocks to Henderson Center Bicycles to get excellent service! read more

Came to the store out of necessity but was super happy with the service and array of gear. All the dudes in there we're super chill and we BS'd for a good long time about local chill spots. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good gear. read more

I have been shopping adventures edge since the late 1980s. I have spent thousands of dollars on merchandise and products. However, I recently purchased defective and poor quality equipment from Adventure's Edge in Eureka. When I attempted to return these items, I was told that they would not give me a refund. They told me I had to deal with the manufacturer directly. The manager and front desk cashier were unwilling to help me with my returns. I have always tried to shop locally and to give them my business. After this experience I will never return to adventures edge Arcata or Eureka! From now on I will shop at Amazon or I will shop directly with the manufacturer. Without good customer service, I would recommend that everyone shop elsewhere! Sorry adventure's edge, you had the opportunity to keep my business but you have failed. I will actively tell friends, coworkers, and other professionals that they should not shop at your store. read more

I bought sunglasses that broke soon after. Being from Canada, I waited when I was back home and contacted the manufacturer, who said I had to contact the distributor, who said I had to find a store, who said... I'm primarily a cyclist (mountain and road), and this (and the Arcata store) is the best bike shop in Humboldt County. Chris, who runs the bike shop in the Eureka store is extremely knowledgeable in all things related to bikes and the local biking scene, and is both professional and friendly. They also specialize in backpacking, climbing, and kayaking supplies. Highly recommend. read more

Stopped in while travelling through town with a problem with my backpacking stove. Staff were extremely helpful and ended up tuning up my gear for me out of the kindness of their hearts, when they easily could have stuck to their "no tune-ups" policy and sold me a new stove. Adventure's Edge is great! They have a super selection for a small area. I love REI too but notice when I'm in their stores that I can get pretty much everything at home in Humboldt that I can there. I find myself waiting to get back home and buy from Adventure's Edge and keep my money local. That keeps tax money here and employs folks in our community. Customer service after the sale is good too. read more
