I checked into the ER at 4pm on a Thursday and they admitted me right away. It took awhile for…read moresomeone to see me, but at my age I have come to the realization, the world does not revolve around me. After my initial consultation I went to the Phlebotomist room where a nurse put a stint in my arm and drew 4 bottles of blood. I was then led to a room that was freezing and my recliner was broken. I felt like I was there for an hour, but feelings sometimes betray. Then I was taken to a room in the corner all alone and was given a gown to put on and I think I was given a pain pill. I also felt like I was there for an hour. At one point a doctor came in and asked me some questions. I think he just stood in the doorway. I don't recall him standing by my bed. Then I was wheeled, in my bed, up to 2S. This was the start of my 2 day , 2 night stay and all the spa treatments that followed. I was given pain meds and IV antibiotics for the duration of my visit. I would say the amenities sucked, but I really liked the toilet paper. The comb provided was like using a razor blade on my scalp. The towels at my gym are softer and thicker than the ones provided. The bed sheets and pillows were nicer than a Motel 6. The water in the shower did get hot quickly. I was a bit dissapointed there was no lounge to hang out in, where I could meet other guests. Really, no entertainment to speak of. If I worked in the kitchen I wouldn't admit it. Every staff member I encountered was nice and some were outright friendly. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of one male Phlebotomist. He came into my room at 6am to draw blood and wanted to take it out of my right arm which was swolen and painful. I told him he needed to use my left arm, which had an IV stint in the crook of my elbow. He argued that he had to use my right arm and I said no he had to figure it out. He said "So you are refusing giving blood?" I replied "Out of my right arm yes." He left and said he would have someone else do it. This young man was either tired at the end of his shift or he was a misogynist. Maybe both. My encounter will him left me feeling many things and none of them were joy. Three days later I received a call from my attending Physician that I needed to return. This time I was also there for 2 days and 2 nights staying on 3S. My first night I didn't get any sleep. I think every department wanted to come in and touch me. Also, around 3am I fell asleep and someone came into my room to empty my trash can. WTF? Use your commen sense folks. The people on this floor were also nice, but extremely busy. I felt sorry for my nurses. At least I didn't need as much attention this visit. The food still sucked. I am baffeled why a healing institution would serve low quality food, like margarine over butter, yogurt with unhealty ingredients, farm raised fish and other things I would never eat. Overall, I recommend the stay here, but remember, attitude is everything. Bring your own toiletries if you can.

Er is really busy. Go to walk in if you can. They leave you in a room for a Long time.read more

Terrible experience. I am a registered nurse who cares for patients within this health system, yet…read moreI was unable to receive the care I needed for myself. I visited urgent care for a UTI and was prescribed antibiotics that did not improve my symptoms. When I called back for assistance, I was repeatedly told to follow up with my primary care provider. The problem is that I am new to the health system and do not yet have an established primary care provider, which is the reason I sought care at urgent care in the first place. My urine culture later came back contaminated, and despite ongoing symptoms, no repeat urine test, alternative medication, or meaningful follow-up plan was offered. Instead, I was told that if I was still having symptoms, I would need to return and be seen again for the exact same issue I had been evaluated for just two days earlier. The weekend staff showed no empathy or concern regarding my continued symptoms. As a healthcare professional, I understand that not every treatment works immediately, but I expected better communication, continuity of care, and basic compassion. Instead, I felt dismissed and unsupported while dealing with a painful condition. Urgent care should be equipped to provide appropriate follow-up recommendations when a patient remains symptomatic, especially when the original culture is inconclusive. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with the lack of patient-centered care.
