The hospital is fully aware of their tactics but use them. The collection agency was informed that the hospital was being paid monthly and there are no other funds, they said they did not care will call daily until the hospital tells them to stop. This is criminal phone harassment by state statue. We like the staff and the closeness of the hospital, but they are pushing us away. They advertise they care about us but cause unnecessary stress daily on our mental health. Does it take a lawsuit to get justice. We are on social security and no savings so what do they want us to do. So if you dont have cash to pay your copay within 30 days expect harassment daily

Before I could even sit down I was taken in, given pain medication, whisked off to get a cat scan and returned to the ER. They found the problem and it got fixed. The Doctors, the nurses, the radiologist were just so understanding, professional and just all around great people. I would recommend the EK VA Medical Center Emergency Room every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I use the EKVAMC on a regular basis for Physical Therapy, regular medical treatment and for my Pharmaceutical needs. The Physical Therapy section is absolutely fantastic. They have helped me fix problems that I have lived with for years. I am sure there is no better place to go for PT. The Red Team is absolutely responsive, you are taken care of in a very reasonable time frame. I use the My Healthy Web Site to communicate and always get a response within 24 hours but mostly less than 4 hours.

Compared to my experience at Stormont Vail, the care here was significantly better more thorough, attentive, and patient-centered. What stood out most was that I was taken seriously. I sought a secondary opinion here, and the team didn't dismiss my concerns. Instead, they presented me with options including the choice between conservative outpatient care or being admitted for inpatient treatment. I appreciated being included in that decision-making process, and I chose inpatient treatment. That choice made a difference in my healing and peace of mind. The reason for four stars instead of five is simply because nothing is ever perfect and a few very minor, personal observations don't outweigh the overwhelmingly positive experience I've had here. They aren't even worth mentioning in detail because they would distract from the excellent clinical care I received. I'm grateful for the team that looked after me and helped me recover safely. I was billed $980 for the draw that could not have cost St. Francis $50. I understand St Francis has costs to cover, but a more than 1000% markup for routine services for an uninsured individual without any good faith estimate is robbery. I've been through multiple rounds with the billing department with nothing more than the run around. There is a reason they lose to Stormont so often. Avoid the lesson yourself. Don't support a poorly operated hospital.
