My daughter's 2008 Audi A3 would not start due to an ignition switch issue in the steering column because the key would not turn. Once we got the car to start, it would not turn off. I started looking on Google for nearby repair shops that work on foreign cars. I called and explained the situation to Keith. He was familiar with the problem and said it was a common issue in the older cars. Keith knew we were in a predicament and offered to help us right away even though we didn't have an appointment. Keith was able to turn off the car and diagnose the issue. He provided us with a couple repair options (new or used parts) with his recommendation and estimate. We went with new parts and the car was ready the next day. Keith even offered to come pick my daughter up with the car and bring her back to the shop. After leaving she noticed the air bag light was on and went back to shop. Without hesitation, Keith took the car back and resolved the issue next day. I was really impressed when Keith called a few days later to check on the car and said to let him know if there are any more issues related to the repair and that he would stand by his work. Needless to say, I am very impressed by Keith and his customer service / communications and will call on him again for future repairs. Thank you very much !!! Jim Response from the owner 11 minutes ago Jim I want to personally thank you for the review. I also want to thank you for trusting us to repair tha Audi. I creeped into my local repair shop-dropped the keys in the slot and hoped for the best. Remington"s (my trusted repair shop) have fixed everything on my car for years. They called me with crazy bad news,"It's my transmission and they can't fix it". The shop they recommended was an hour away and I thought ok Yelp will be where i find my answer. I must have sounded desperate when I sent the lonely message to Jason the owner of Crystal Lake Transmission. He texted me back in under an hour. He spent a great deal of time explaining all the details. I decided to trust him and we had AAA tow my Jeep to his location and it arrived within 3 hours. His communication was terrific through the whole process and He gave me a great price well under what I expected. My car is purring like a kitten and I am glad I trusted him. It's scary when something like this happens to your car. Keep in mind when something like this happens it takes a week or so to get your car back. The time went fast and I have a brand new transmission. One happy girl!!
