Took another car there (Dodge Avenger) and had them look at it for problems, as I had gotten this for my son. What I thought would need to be repaired, turned out to be something I could fix with an additive and was told what to do by Rodney, the owner. Haven't had that issue with the car since. Very honest and upfront about costs and repair work needed. I wanted to have other work done and he directed me to a shop that was cheaper than he was for the work needed. How many people would send work to another shop!?! Shows how honest and upfront they are with their customers. Have another car there right now for trans work and will probably have to take yet another. At least I feel pretty comfortable in believing I will not be taken for a ride. As long as this pattern continues, they will have me as a customer. If you have doubt, take your vehicle to a few different shops then go see him and see what he states in comparison. Thanks to Mr. Yanez for being honest and looking out for people who don't have money falling out of their pockets!!!

I recently brought my 2003 Thunderbird into Advantage Transmission, after an unsuccessful trans…read morerebuild at a different trans shop (The car still had harsh shifting going into second and third gears). The owner, John, was very upfront about expectations, and said it could possibly be in the $2.5 to $4k range if another rebuild and expensive parts were needed. After he had a chance to take it apart to inspect, he determined the main problem was that it needed a new solenoid body. He replaced it, along with some other work, and the cost for parts and labor was a fraction of the initial rough estimate he gave. The best part is the T-Bird shifts great now and is a joy to drive again (I can put that V8 to good use now :) John was honest, fair and really knew what he was doing to get the job done right (and, as a side note, a really nice guy to deal with). I highly recommended John and Advantage Transmission in Woodstock for any transmission issues you might have in the future. 10 out of 10 all around!

I creeped into my local repair shop-dropped the keys in the slot and hoped for the best. Remington"s (my trusted repair shop) have fixed everything on my car for years. They called me with crazy bad news,"It's my transmission and they can't fix it". The shop they recommended was an hour away and I thought ok Yelp will be where i find my answer. I must have sounded desperate when I sent the lonely message to Jason the owner of Crystal Lake Transmission. He texted me back in under an hour. He spent a great deal of time explaining all the details. I decided to trust him and we had AAA tow my Jeep to his location and it arrived within 3 hours. His communication was terrific through the whole process and He gave me a great price well under what I expected. My car is purring like a kitten and I am glad I trusted him. It's scary when something like this happens to your car. Keep in mind when something like this happens it takes a week or so to get your car back. The time went fast and I have a brand new transmission. One happy girl!!
