Very unprofessional DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! I had a failure to thrive kitten that I was bottle feeding he was very small very tiny had worked with my friend whom works at pieper Hospital they were able to help me get him eating and getting stronger. He was so small and grew slower than it's siblings from my sisters cats litter. So I took him under my wing. I can here when he was still under a pound just to be a good mom make sure I was doing everything right and if they had any tips. Dr. Norma just kept saying oh he's guarded he could have medical problems and there's nothing I can do for you. I went there to make sure I can do everything I can for him so he thrives not get told what can happen clearly she didn't have any idea how to handle a failure to thrive baby let alone give advice to help me like a vet is suppose to do. Then october first I brought him in he was cold breathing heavy he had a cold and he got better then got worse over night. This was after trying to get into the vet and my husband was treated very rudely asking for an appointment a few days before just to make sure he was OK since he had seemed better. Was rudely hung up on. Then this day he called in tears crying that we need him checked please we both had work they were close where I could leave for the time being to bring him. Brought him a nice dark curly haired lady was my nurse she new he didn't feel good and treated me withthe utmost care possible. Got him a warm blanket and wrapped him with that instead of my sweatshirt I had. The doctor comes in unwrap him to look at him she doesn't even wrap him back up! Even the tech got made and helped me wrap him back up and she kept tell the doctor he has to stay warm several times to her. They take him in back now to stabilize him. Stabilizing an animal means oxygen chamber iv fluids and antibiotics if needed. Cleary he needed all of those things. They also had the audacity to ask me to surrender my kitten because I can't afford the er. Almost anyone out there can't its expensive when I said no I was treated like I was ahorrible person for wanting to keep him.. then the tech leaves comes back with another tech with ama paper to sign! I was bringing him to Pieper anyways so I just signed it so I could get the he'll out of here and get him someone else. That took forever as well to get him out of there because they wouldnt give him back. Finally i get him back dont even get out of the driveway he freaking out panting. I got there at 930 I didn't arrive at pieper til 11 doing cpr on him as I'm driving cuz these idiots wanted to dilly dally with my cat for an hr. He couldn't even make it to pieper. I wanna know how I brought him in to them calm no panting alert to panting and freaking out the next. Howd he go from breathing to barely breathing. He wasn't able to be brought back after ten minutes I told them to stop. i was almso informed and given copies of his paperwork from this vet and there was no heart rate respiration on it as well as everything was mainly marked normal how was he at all normal he had discharge from his nose and eyes heavy breathing and congested lungs that was told specificly that his lungs were off but yet its says normal on their paperwork they sent!!! Below is proof so when they respond and say its all false its infact not at all. Thanks to pieper for doing more than this vet did for him in his short time. If u treat your pets like that is your son or daughter go somewhere else!

They were able to get him the medicine he needed within minutes. At another vet I could've lost my boy

The absolute best veterinarian clinic I have been to in my entire life. The staff is just heaven sent they were able to take care of me promptly even though I was a new patient and dropped in unexpectedly. The were very courteous and fair when it came to pricing and they genuinely cared about me and my pet. Lastly the place was impeccable. Clean no bad smells I couldn't complain even if I wanted to. My visit was perfect and this is the only place I will be coming to.

It has been a nightmare; she went for her dental cleaning and I asked for the certificate as well. For my surprise they stated that they could not do both as the certificate implied it needed the comprehensive which meant that then I needed to make a choice - dental or comprehensive. Then they stated that the certificate needed to be in another day - they had no drop off appointments for the weekend so they gave me for a Monday. A blizzard was on its way so I asked to be rescheduled which they did for Tuesday. However I called back as I got an email from them stating they conducted the comprehensive exam (which then I I did NOT authorize). Actually when I went to pick her up on Thursday from the cleaning procedure they stated ok - all in the comprehensive went well except for .. and I reminded her that she was there for the dental cleaning and questioned if it was done. She needed to looked twice and then stated they did it. Well so then I got there with no car to drop my dear dog for the certificate; they asked about "did you bring the simparica?".. really? did I need to? nobody told me to do so. I did tell that I give it to her every 16th of the month. Then I received a voice mesage/text stating that I needed to buy Frontline as they need to provide a treatment. I am concerned of giving so many meds for the same purpose. I called them and they responded they needed to do it or not able to provide with the certificate. I was waiting in a Starbucks close to them since I had no car. It would have been nice if you guys would let me know what I needed to bring prior to the appointment.. don't you think? Now no transportation and not willing to work with me in getting whatever they wanted. Every month and /or time that I ask for a certificate ( she is a traveler) there are always some kind of ROADBLOCK.. depending who is in charge - they ask or not for something. Total lack of planning and consideration for the customer. I am also concerned on the fact of two different meds for the same purpose (on one month) is acceptable. Very frustrating!!

I've been taking my dog son to this hospital for his entire life given the fact that it's close and they have pretty convenient health plans that cover shots, unlimited doctor visits, vaccines, X-rays and dental cleanings. Over the years I've seen this company clearly become like a pet mill and care more about the number of dogs being seen than actual quality of care. A couple of years ago upon check in, I was amazed at the number of dogs coming in at the same time and the extended wait times in an unkept waiting area with lots of chaos due to dogs being in close proximity. What I experienced this week just literally took the cake. I dropped my dog off at 8am for his annual teeth cleaning where I was advised that he can't eat or drink past midnight. I was told I could pick him up between 3-5pm. By 4pm I still hadn't received any call or update. I call in and they tell me that my dog literally has not even been seen yet! However, I'd received no call or notification of the delay. They told me they overbooked and had to even call and cancel some cleanings (as if that was supposed to make me feel better). So my dog had been locked in a kennel for that amount of time with no food and water and unable to pee?? It's totally inhumane and unacceptable. When we take our pet children to the hospital we expect the upmost level of care and this is not it! This process is already stressful as my dog is always completely out of it after anesthesia and has a rough night afterward but normally he's started the healing process way before I can pick him up. With the time they started, I don't even think they were able to monitor him the full time off the anesthesia as I picked him up at 6pm and they gave me a call for a question at 4:45pm and he was still under anesthesia. Usually my dog can sleep through the night after but he could barely sleep. Do you think they called the next day to check? Nope! As many times as they've disappointed me, honestly shame on me for not finding a better solution. Find a place that will actually care for your pet and not treat them like a number.

They were able to do the routine stuff however their ability for anything beyond yearly check up is severely lacking. We had 2 pets there, first a chocolate lab that was a senior, over 10 years old. They were alright, however Dr Dan saw him once and scared us so bad said he had some kind of heart issue and we may need to get him to an emergency vet ASAP, then came back and said he was fine. We did have him looked at an emergency vet and they could find nothing wrong with him. We let that slide, unprofessional and poor bedside manors but whatever. Then about a year later, just this past February, he was very lethargic and having issues, we called and they said it didn't seem like an emergency and they can get him in about 3 weeks. We decided to go to the emergency vet and in a matter of hours he was gone, I understand how busy it can get but the amount they just shrugged us off was disappointing for being with them for so long. Also he was on prescription food, they refused to give the prescription to Chewy and required we go through their own online store. We did, after he passed we got another delivery of his food, a few weeks later we called and asked about a refund in which they said they do not have a process to refund orders for pets who have passed. I explained to them how Chewy handles that situation, I spoke with Devon, he seemed nice however never actually called me back and gave me an answer one way or the other. I called him back again, he said he was "still working on it" and would get back to me by the end of the day. That was 3 days ago and no word at all. Mind you I was asking for a $130 refund after spending $3160 with them in a matter of 4 weeks. Not long after this our other dog, an 8 year old boxer mix needed a mole removed. They performed the operation and from there it went down hill quick. He developed a severe infection close to where the operation was, we brought him back, they did a quick test and gave us an antibiotic. He did not get better at all and kept getting worse, we went back there paid over $600 for additional tests were given a different antibiotic but still having issues. We called this morning to ask about a different form of medicine, maybe a compounded liquid. You would have thought I asked them to launch a space shuttle, nobody had any idea and "needed to consult the vet and get back to us". It took 3 hours to get a call back and they said try hiding the pill in a marshmallow, that was literally their only response. I expressed kindly that I feel my pet is not getting the care he needs and expressed my dissatisfaction that they seem to just just guessing at things and effectively throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. After I expressed that they then said they can send over a prescription to a pharmacy in southington but I was not able to get the prescription myself. They then followed up with an email giving me the pharmacy info and the info of other emergency vet offices and said we should consider a different vet. This was not an issue because I was already looking for a different one. Overall they seem like at best the practice is poorly managed, the doctors and also front desk associates seem to never actually know what's going on or provide any kind of useful information. Honestly the techs that work there are the only bright spot and must be what is keeping them in business. If you need just a basic checkup and "tech" appointment they are alright, if you need an actual vet / doctor appointment unfortunately they seem to not have the skill and ability to properly care for pets beyond the very basics. Overall a very expensive and disappointing experience and worst of all I believe both of my pets received poor care which created more issues and suffering for them.
